Yes..., MOBILITY. CM2 maps rarely give opportunity for vehicular mobility. As someone pointed out a Stryker is more like a halftrack than a tank and has little or no place in CM2 scenarios cos by the time one gets into the short range firefights of CM2, the "Stonkers" would be in the rear.

I stopped plying SB precisely cos of the complexity of programming in all those orders. One spent more time programming turns than in playing the game. And IIRC SB features far fewer units than CM2. If you want that level of control, why not play SB?

Yup. Writing and movie-making is also at the top of what anyone can do ... "if only they had the time". Also... "...the (CM2) game scale doesn't represent the Stryker's advantages well since when the game starts, the mission of the Strykers is mostly done. " Yeah this is a problem with the relatively small maps featured in CM2. CM1 was better in being able to feature longer range fire on its 8Km x 4Km maps.

Complex to remember how this works, but very interesting.

Not sure about teleporting unless you have the CM:SCIFI mod. However, yes units can do the above underwater.

Harassment or Light fire with Long or Max duration is useful as one can move the FO and adjust the fire "on the go". It's often faster than starting a whole new indirect fire process. Most useful when you are not certain of exact enemy positions (and you have a reasonable amount of heavy arty). Esp for the Russians it takes a long time to get arty on target. I find that the Blue forces can usually get their arty on my Red guys faster than Red can.

They are making large investments in Bhutan - the Chinese just built the largest Buddha (and temple/visitor center) in the world outside Thimphu as a "gift". That will draw vast numbers of Chinese tourists to augment the very large numbers of Chinese already there. India is correct to be concerned about all this and keep a very close eye on things. Bhutan is very poor and quite desperate for money, so quite amenable to Chinese overtures. I wonder if Uber will program in a "Reverse" program if one of its autocars start taking gunfire? Good question for CNN. Am in Tempe at present and they are all over the place. A bloody nuisance as they all drive at the speed limit no matter what and are other wise quite slow. You have to maneuver around em. Questions: What will this do to the auto industry if all cars end of driving like this. What of the luxury and high-powered brands?? You gonna pay $100K+ for a car that drives like your grandmother?? Someone hasn't thought this whole auto car thing thru. And now Uber is talking about flying cars by 2015! Am beginning to think it's one huge investment scam.

Otherwise, completely agree with LLF's assessment. It would make for an entertaining "Sci fantasy" CM title - and that is fine, why not? But never a sim of RL situation due to above points and primarily the logistical challenges of projecting significant power such a long way away (over water). And politically even more sensitive than an Israel vs Arabs title set 50 years ago. THAT would be an even bigger seller.

There are usually a lot of good uniform mods for all the titles. Check Repository and CMMODS etc.

In terms of a game, however appealing that would be, if we can't do Israeli vs Arab conflicts from 50 years ago due to politics, I doubt this near future theme would be allowed by the powers that be. Just my 2 cents...

AFAIK, all my old CMSF d/l's came from CMMODS and Repository, maybe from FGM as well. So all were for public consumption. (I did forget that BF published some for sale, but fortunately they are copy-protected.)
