  1. Very generally speaking, HE will penetrate an amount of armor (RHA) equal to 1/2 the shell diameter. CM models it a little higher than that, I think.
  2. The vehicle pack was released before the Red Thunder patch and since TCP/IP was the last thing fixed in the RT patch I don't think those fixes could be in the pack. IIRC BFC has said there will be a patch forthcoming, if for no other reason than to bring everyone with the 3.0 upgrade to the same version since right now people with the Pack can't play with people without the pack. It will include fixes for some Pack issues and I presume will bring the CMBN TCP/IP functionality up to the same as Red Thunder 1.01.
  3. I know what you are referring to. He was mistaken and corrected himself later in the same thread.
  4. Now that I look back at the timeline, it's is possible that some of the early fix attempts to Red Thunder TCP/IP were included in the Vehicle Pack. Only Phil would know for sure, but that's my guess as to what changed.
  5. We noticed that individual experience varied. I couldn't play more than 10 minutes on some builds without a desync that other testers could play whole games on. I'm surprised that 3.10 is different that 3.00. I'm not aware of any changes made between the versions. How stable is Red Thunder 1.01 for your group?
  6. Units have some degree of 360° awareness regardless of facing, but they do spot better in the direction they are looking. A target arc gets everyone's eyes facing the same direction so it will often improve spotting in that way. But there is no additional spotting bonus beyond the eyeball facing, i.e. a unit without a target arc in which everyone is facing the same direction will spot just as well in that direction as a unit with an arc.
  7. I assume the TCP/IP WEGO fixes in the 1.01 Red Thunder patch will be included in the next Normandy patch, but until then you are unlikely to have much success with it.
  8. I think he was asking about the range to target from the mortar, not the observer. Dispersion does increase with range, although IIRC it does so in steps at certain ranges rather than gradually.
  9. Keep in mind that in WEGO this is only true during the playback phase. During the orders phase the UI functions exactly the same as Elite difficulty. It's really not an inconvenience at all unless you are playing in real time mode.
  10. IIRC They had no APBC because I had run them dry by having them shoot at King Tigers. I have seen that happen when the T-34s have only a few rounds of AP left and the TacAI becomes unreasonably paranoid about using the last bit of it. I have not noticed it at other times. If it is happening when there is plenty of AP left that could indicate a problem. If they are weak point penetrations the HE penetration value is probably irrelevant.
  11. Sorry, I meant the latter. Although the Jagdpanther will be in CMRT eventually.
  12. Indeed it is. The fix was originally made in CMBN for the next patch and was then ported over to CMRT for relevant vehicles.
  13. It was not corrected in the patch (that I know of), because I never reported it. Instead, I came to the conclusion that it is probably not a bug. I had been working under the assumption that only the Panther Gs suffered from glacis armor quality reduction in CMRT, since that is what the manual suggests. But in referencing armor quality ratings from CMBB I noticed that Ausf A (late) and IIRC Ausf A (mid) were also listed as having a chance for flawed armor. Further more, I noted that flawed Panther glacis plate armor was not associated with a reduced resistance %. That suggested the possibility that flawed Panther glacis was subject to special rules. One of those rules could be that instead of a reduction in resistance, flawed Panther glacis plate may be subject to an increased chance of weak point penetration. To test this idea I tested T-34/85 HE against Panther A (early) at 1000 meters. The penetration % was only slightly above 1%, much lower than the previous results I had with later Panther models. A flat 1% chance of penetration was the means by which weak point penetrations were modeled in CMx1 and could very well be in CMx2. In addition, I continued to see no spalling results, suggesting that the HE penetration was well below the effective armor resistance. This theory also would explain the controversial incident in Bill H's beta AAR against Elvis in which Bill's T-34 took out Elvis's Panther G with an APBC shot through the glacis plate, a result that would be difficult to justify using typical flawed armor resistance percentages. My theory is that it was a weak point penetration. Of course it is just a theory and it could be wrong and maybe there is a bug. But it's a theory that fits the evidence. Plus, I had a lot of other testing to due on matters more important and/or more likely to result in incontrovertible conclusions so I did not pursue it any further.
  14. Attempting to enter a house with bugged doors that won't let you in while under enemy fire... equals death
  15. The answer can be found in your screen shot
  16. Hmm. Good question. I suspect that "improved QuickBattle choices" is a blanket statement referring to all of the various fixes made to QBs. These are mostly TO&E errors such as missing units and formations. That list of changes alone might fill a whole page There were also some very significant purchase price changes made to a certain infamous class of weaponry. I'm drawing a blank on the external system modeling for tanks.
  17. If you have any radio-equipped vehicle handy that is not busy at the moment, park it within a few action spots of the mortars and every HQ on the map will be able to access them.
  18. There is a bug that allows units to occasionally have LOS and LOF though things they should not. It will hopefully be fixed in the patch.
  19. Further work on TCP/IP, mostly. I think ChrisND already said that somewhere. They have also fixed a few other bugs in the meantime. The silver lining of waiting so long for the patch is that it will include some fixes that it would not have had it been released months ago.
  20. And you support bad English. I'm surprised that user name was still out there after 15 years.
  21. IIRC it is Scorpion. Pffff, ninja'd by akd.
  22. Last we heard from BFC on this they were not planing on doing it ever, unless they get a military contract that requires it and will pay for it.
