  1. You're very welcome. The advantages of Magweb are articles from over 80 history and wargaming magazines for one low cost. And no trees have to die (unless you print out articles). Best deal in the business if you ask me, and they've been around a while too.
  2. Commissar, Try http://www.magweb.com/ I think you'll find it's what you're looking for.
  3. I believe he is talking about getting a new vehicle, not any gamey issues. In a VB op, I kept Wittman on the map and he returned later in a spanking new Tiger. So I don't think it matters whether they're on map or not.
  4. That's a neat find. Thanks. EDIT: I notice they are not charging even for shipping, which is a little suspicious. Still, the online version is interesting. [This message has been edited by Forever Babra (edited 01-07-2001).]
  5. Read Kiwis answer again. He does not mention range. He mentions spin.
  6. Don't know what to tell you, Dragoon. This vehicle below has been called a IIC repeatedly. In fact, it's a Grizzly. Of 188 Grizzlys produced, only two are known to have carried the 17 pdr. Neither served in Europe.
  7. Strange as it may seem, some people actually WANT to survive.
  8. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Vanir: When playing large QBs where it is quite possible your opponent has purchased a fighter-bomber, do you think it worthwhile to purchase some AA units or is it better to forgo it and hope for the best?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> For the allies, yes, still worthwhile. A 40mm Bofors packs a lot of punch. They make good flank protection (I once scared away a Tiger with one -- he thought it was an AT gun). If you want to keep them in the fight, purchase a prime mover for them and move them up.
  9. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by mensch: I'm to busy downing my second case of Labatts and Upper canadian Lager! Mr. Canoehead is a minor problem... to the peanut bar!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Labatts! Ugh. "Chateau Stelco" you mean...
  10. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by SS Peiper: Kurt Knispel The Most successful Tank Destroyer of the German Army<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> How many German Army tanks did he destroy? Knispel... Knispel... What kind of name is Knispel? I'll bet that Jerry who bombed our chip shop was named Knispel... ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  11. Major Tom. I believe that movie was called "Panzer Attack!" or something similar. I caught it on the late late late show some years back.
  12. Naw. It was the fella from the Haunted Tank. ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  13. I love 'em. Small note - After Normandy, Canadians often (unofficially) reversed the allied star, turning it upside down. There was a great deal of grumbling about having "American" symbols on the vehicles. ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  14. Bastables... <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>When you're wounded and left in Afghanistan's plains, And the women come out to cut up what remains, Jes' roll to your rifle and blow out your brains, And go to your gawd like a soldier!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Rudyard Kipling "The Young British Soldier" I always loved that verse. My favourite though: <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>When the officer's dead and the sergeants look white, Remember 'tis ruin to run from a fight; Just take open order, lie down and sit tight, And wait for supports like a soldier!"<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> The whole poem is a code of conduct for Her Majesty's Soldiers. Believe it or not, that latter passage has been a great comfort to me on more than one occasion. Oh, and you suck. Send me a set-up at once. ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  15. Yup. Here's another. Staghound. Staghound with rockets. Rocket pods slaved to 37mm.... Ooooh, the destruction...

  17. Gee, my vote would have gone to Hans Rudel (the Stuka pilot alluded to). ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  18. That was fixed a couple of versions ago. Halftracks will move away from a mortar attack automatically. I think you just got unlucky and didn't get away fast enough. ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
  19. Am I the only one who sees a problem with the dates credited for those pics? ------------------ Is "patheti-sad" a word?
