Thank you gents. Yes it has been a bad the last two months. First I had to put down my 14 year-old Collie and now this crap. I'll get back to the games as soon as I can. Again, thank you.

Excellent, thank you and defenitely a route to follow - hotfixes have been dearly missed with Battlefront in the past.

As long as stationary regular units run back an AS to be out of LOS when receiving small fire from known contacts in front of them - you can call it whatever you want. 😃
Seeing them commonly do cycles of forward and backward seemed off...
Do you know which titles are getting this tweak? I'm hoping it will be made available to both BS and SF2...

Thanks. I missed this as I don't frequent the CMFI forum often as it's not a title I own.

Asked and answered. The link above is Steve's response to:
"Question:  Is the new "evade towards the enemy" behavior a bug that will be addressed by these patches coming soon too?  Or has this been addressed in a different thread?  Thank you."
    To which Steve replied:
"Yup, that's been tweaked a bit as well.
    Steve"

I'd hoped to add a single reference  of 'Evasion' and 'Bug' containing an 'offical' determination while keeping the page count to under one.

I started a new thread so as not to miss the determination on this matter first raised in this thread a month ago...

Is it working as intended in CMBN and simply a matter of becoming accustomed to this new normal?
Or, are more save games required before anything further can be determined?
Or, it is an issue and a corrective action is forthcoming?
At nine pages long, I felt a need to reset so as to not miss the official response. I've been known to miss a thing or two...

    Hello all,
About seven years ago the computer I was using to play CMSF1 had a severe crash and I lost everything associated with the game. I had several login names as I was purchasing these great games but over time I had forgotten them. I sent in a ticket to the Support Team and John really helped me. So, I just wanted to say thank you to him and the outstanding service he provided me. I just wish more of the gaming companies took care of their customers in the same way Battlefront does theirs.

    Huh? This makes no sense.
How did you jump to the conclusion that I was angry with you or anyone else? Sarcasm doesn't = anger. It means I'm tired of waiting for news from you guys and tired of waiting for new products to buy and I was tired of waiting over a year ago.
How did you decide that me and everyone else wants dates? I don't give a damn about dates. Developers can keep customers in the loop by simply letting us know what they're doing. Are you excited about something you're making? Sweet! Maybe tell us about it so we can be excited with you. Or just keep doing what you're doing and say absolutely NOTHING for over a year at a time. You're the first company I've ever seen admit that it doesn't see a problem with "customers tuning out".
How did you all make the decision that not engaging your customers at all for a year or more is perfectly ok and normal? People aren't asking for release dates. They're asking for information. Based on what devs show us, we can generally figure out about when something is coming or nearing completion anyway (because....they tell us....). Instead you've missed I think two "deadlines" (by the end of next month, twice). Instead of giving the date you can't make, just be like "guys we are getting very close to release we are just polishing X vehicle and TOE up and Fred drew boobs on all the tank textures when we sacked him so we gotta go fix those". Instead we get nothing at all.

You just updated the website to be in the new millennium. I'd suggest you update this keep everyone in the dark policy. This is the information age and we want information. Hell, even Games Workshop is doing a great job engaging customers nowadays. I love you guys half to death and appreciate what you do for our tiny niche community but what is literally happening here is people are yelling shut up and take my money and you're just shoving your fingers in your ears and going lalalalala i can't or don't want to hear you. Not cool, brother.

I do think this is a subject I have some expertise in: digital marketing.  Some of the work I do is for small niche software companies, not unlike BF.  All of them are  acutely conscious of marketing, even if they only have small budgets for it - they want to keep their existing customers and reach out to potential new ones.  We all know that new versions and patches can be delayed but that is a reason to ensure that customers are kept in the loop. It's not actually a cost, but has an ROI in increased sales and customer satisfaction.  BF seem to be shamefully ignorant or uncaring about this, and its Digital Marketing 101.  IMO it is a very poor business strategy just to rely on a hard core of ageing customers in a competitive marketplace, but obviously BF sees things differently,  [sigh].

I don't mind that things are delayed, I mind that the customer base is often left in the dark, often for months on end.
This has admittedly gotten much better in the last few weeks, but it has been months of waiting for the 4.0 patch.

I can't say for sure how this is effecting the player base but look at how posting has died off for CMFI and CMRT -  titles I personally really enjoy. There are threads detailing bugs and TOE/OOB errors and omissions from 2014 that have still not been commented on. Are they being fixed in the next patch? Who knows?
If BF is aware that for example FJ gun transports in CMFI carry 50mm ammo regardless of the gun in the platoon, and it's being fixed in the next patch, then that's something I don't have to worry about, if they let the customers know and then I don't have to resurrect dead threads from 2014 in the hopes that it will be noticed, only for there to be no response because nobody is posting in the CMRT forum, lest of all devs.

In my opinion, it's not the big things like delays with the website or CMSF2 being a little later than expected, and certainly not major additions like France and Italy being added to CMSF2 at launch, it's the lack of patches and dev blogs on the existing titles. Little things like the graphics issues with the BMP-2M in CMBS, generated many, many community posts and were met with silence. Would it be so much to say "We're aware of that, we're fixing it, it will be in the upcoming patch for the 4.0 engine".
The responses to the question about CMBS bugs persisting into CMSF2 and asking if they will be addressed in a patch for CMBS is a ray of hope, I can only hope that there is a more organized way of doing that going forward.
Maybe have pinned threads in each of the titles' boards and one day a week (if possible) have someone a dev or beta tester come in and give a little update on what's being done on the title, what the known issues are, maybe even solicit help from the community if there is uncertainty about a TOE or OOB. So on Tuesday say, go into the Development Thread in CMFI and say "You know, we looked at that Italian infantry handbook you guys posted back in 2013 (and was reposted in 2018!) that mentions the squad breaking down into 3 man teams, but we think that was just for running in bounds and the Italian rifle squad was fundamentally a LMG section and a rifle section and couldn't maneuver as smaller elements than that." and then on Friday post on the CMFB board and say "Yeah, we're aware that the availability dates for HVAP for the 76mm gun might be off, we'll address that" (No more specifics needed, 10 seconds to post!). The following Tuesday, if there's less going on in the development of CMFI maybe just check in and say "We didn't really take the time to go back to look at the Italians after the engine updates, since they were in the initial release of CMFI and we couldn't just port over assets from other titles when we added AAA. We'd like to add stationary Breda 20mm guns to give Italians the ability to have AA units, and luckily we already have this modeled in game on the AS. 42. We'll hopefully have time to add this as a small patch to CMFI between CMSF2 shipping and Rome to Victory"
I know people like to say customers ask for too much. I disagree. We're not asking for detailed weekly dev diaries, just some indication of what is being done.
I know people say that posting on the forum takes away from development time. I disagree. Just say something like: "Not only will Module 1 for CMRT bring the timeline to the end of the war and add German formations and equipment, but the Soviets got a second looks too. So now Cavalry Uniforms are a selection as appearance in the unit purchase screen instead of a mod tag. Oh and since we already had Polish voice files from other titles, we're adding the First Polish Army to the Russian side". That took about 30 seconds and covered questions raised in dozens of threads and hundreds of posts dating from 2014.

With all due respect, that statement makes really no sense.
If Steve spends 1 hour per month informing his customers about the evolution of the work on their project/s closer to completion, and the patch takes one year of work to be finished, then the release of the patch would be delayed less than two days due to the time invested in informing the customers. I think that everybody would accept that insignificant delay in the release of the patch in exchange of monthly information about the evolution of the work on the patch and on other close project/s.

Baneman. Of course we know they are working on it and that 'the car is driving'. For crying out loud.   For me this is about promises about screenshots and approximate release dates that aren't being kept. Even people defending this, acknowledge that given timelines are pretty useless. And the patch is vital for releasing the modules.
Let me be more concrete. How many times did BF tell us that things were going great and that we could expect the modules at the end of a certain year or at the beginning of a certain year (but not much later) and so on and so forth? Delays are always possible. Reasons why promised screenshots can't be released are always possible, but COMMUNICATE. Tell us why you need another six months, or why you can't even tell that. Of course these guys are working hard. Of course they are under a lot of pressure. Of course we can't even stand in the shadow of their skills and dedication. Just simple and clear communication. Why is more time needed? Why no screenshots? Is it possible to name a year? 2019? 2020? Do you at least have a goal you're aiming at?
And throw in a NEW bone from time to time. Keeps us happy for months.

No, we actually do not know that at the moment. For all we know they could be prepearing to file for bankruptcy and keeping low profile while doing it not to affect sales. You can't just stop communicating with customers after you've said that soemthing is nearing completion. And this has been a trend for a while. They were supposed to roll out a new store front back when Final Blitzkrieg was announced. Well they stopped talking about it as well and didn't do it. There is no evidence of them working on the patch any more and there won't be until we get an official statement about it. And as you say, it'd only take them a few seconds, just log in and post "We're sorry for the delays, but we are working on it" etc.

I assure you I am no entitled snowflake and I think that is an easy defense of their lack of communication.
I understand the whole entitlement thing is real now a days but I cant see in any way how this is that.  Steve communicated that this is a problem back in Jan.?  Indicating that things were looking good or something to that effect? And we are entitled snowflakes 6 months later because we have issues with the total lack of communication since?  That is why I hesitated even making my original post because it doesn't seem to take long for the insults to come when one questions BF here.
I do not expect anyone to hold my hand nor do I feel entitled to anything other than decent customer service for a product that I have shelled out quite a bit of my hard earned money for.
And again my comments are just about some simple communication about what is going on.  The lack of that simple little piece of customer service shows a disrespect for the community and customer base that has kept them in business all these years.  Now I am sorry I was trying to be very respectful in my comments and concerns and if I get banned now then I guess so be it but I didn't take us down this road.

Oh sure I get that and I am not really talking so much about release of the patch but just some communication to the community who has supported them through thick and thin.
That is what really bothers me. I love these game more than any other game I have ever owned and always had big love for these devs but just to put it into perspective.
They released a for money engine upgrade that broke the AI.  Ok that happens, its game development.  Then they say something about it being almost ready or looking good almost 6 months ago and since then not a word. Not a "hey guys we are working on it ran into some issues but we are working on it."  Just a little communication goes a long way.
Unless I totally missed some communication.  It really makes ya wonder if they just cant fix it and they don't want to say it.
