Any news bout TCP/IP WEGO with replay?
PIATpunk replied to Pandur's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Hi Phil Steve wrote this (below) in the other patch winge thread last week, so I am assuming from that there is still some issues with tcp WEGO. My main concern is putting some hours into a game and then not being able to restore the game successfully if something breaks. Personally I have no issue with no access to ff/rw in this mode. It's an excellent way to play, especially where both players have voip, leading to a more 'face to face' game experience. Plus you can knock off a game over 2-3 sessions. thanks for your time on this one cheers -
Any news bout TCP/IP WEGO with replay?
PIATpunk replied to Pandur's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Wego tcp will still be a bit broken in the next patch unfortunately :-/ Don't really care about replay though, just want it to be stable so my friends and I can play it. -
I guess I am in the minority but that is how I wish to play the game (and have been trying to without success since RT release). If it's still going to be unstable in the upcoming patch, will you be working on it for a future patch?

The game connects in fine without the overhead of third party vpn's. The host of the game needs to forward port 7023 to the host computer for the game to connect. You may need to do some googling with your router model number on how to achieve that. However it is usually straight forward and takes a minute or two to accomplish. The other thing I see host players do is quote their IP as quoted by the game, to their opponent - this will never connect due to the game showing the internal network IP, not their router's external IP. Just type into google 'what is my ip' and it will give you the correct IP to send.

ChrisND, could you please ask the testers to try out the Red Thunder TCP wego game feature and specifically ask them to save and restore a game and see what happens to the game sync after that - I have filed a bug report that there are sync issues in the new 3.0 CMFI engine and I have a concern the code is the same in the upcoming RT patch thanks!

Jewel (H2H Only) ME/probe Medium
PIATpunk replied to Nelson 1812's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
scen loaded fine in the pbem I've finished. Soviets got the snot kicked out of them though. -
I'd like to see this implemented, and all my other personalities would like it as well. So that may count as 'lots'. Recently installed RT onto the lappy for this purpose but had not got to the point of trying a multi machine pbem - might stick to the desktop for the moment (I hear araldite is good for that). cheers

well, you can easily reassign user folders to another drive - perhaps set it H: as well and then your game is on the same drive. Still split up, but. cheers

CMRT on 27" monitor is a great experience
PIATpunk replied to BDW's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
I will be looking closely at the new Benq XL2720G 27" monitor when it comes out in a couple of months - not only a good size/res for ailing eyes (as per comments above) but also comes with gsync technology to (supposedly) eliminate tearing and stutter/blurring when paired with a compatible graphics card. Not cheap but YOLO, as the kids say. -
After the amount of very positive reviews it's had, prepare for a price *rise*! <just joking>

Stugs with pink bits (Under wheels)
PIATpunk replied to x13th's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I think Gunslinger has yet to fix the Stug. -
Shep, have you installed the RealColor mod? The Stug is one model that needs to be corrected in a patch. Chris
-
The first patch for the RealColor mod is now available via the CM mod database: http://cm.cozog.com/ It corrects some pink problems. Chris

I am waiting for Gunslinger to resend it; I'll broadcast a URL at that point. Chris

RealColor Mod READY FOR DOWNLOAD!!
PIATpunk replied to GunMod's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
You should be able to resume downloading from the Internode site if you get cut off, if you are using a browser like Opera or a download manager like Getright. And I would think the total transfer time based on your quoted speed would be less than 24 hrs. Alternatively, search on Kazaa for the file, but you will more likely be transferring at much slower speeds. Chris -

Unless Gunslinger has gone AWOL I'd like him to announce it. Steady boys, steady... -

With any luck it should be released in the next couple of days; I've had a delay getting the server configured for this kind of demand. Cheers, Chris
