  1. Shouldn't be too much longer but we have to make a couple of config changes so the server doesn't freak out when people start sucking - given that it's not a business priority, I'd say we're still looking at another day or so before the link is announced. edit: sorry guys, make that next week some time, the engineer I am co-ordinating with has been called away interstate for a couple of days. Cheers, Chris [ November 07, 2002, 07:14 PM: Message edited by: PIATpunk ]
  2. Hehe working for a business class ISP has its rewards sometimes, and I would certainly like to help out with getting Gunslinger's mod out to everyone - his original for CMBO was a class act, no doubt. File is still transferring at the moment, and I have to sleep at some point, and then I'll get it set up on one of our unix servers. Hopefully about 24 hrs away if all goes to plan. Cheers, Chris
  3. I suspect that people who can't rescue from a black screen when using 2x FSAA might have a different screen refresh rate set for CMBB in comparison with desktop resolution refresh rate. I also found I got a good result by setting my desktop resolution to 16bit instead of 32 bit, and now the game snaps quickly in and out when alt-tabbing.
  4. I invested some hours in this scen in close co-operation with the text of the tutorial and ended up with all my armor dead and 6 tigers/panthers all happily ruling the roost. A most unbalanced and unhappy start to my CMBB experience.
  5. AA (Red Devils over Arnhem) is the best game I've ever bought, and I recently bought CMBB Chris
  6. same problem for me with 98se when I upgraded my video card. Tried all sorts of driver combos/fresh 98se installs etc, with my new GF4200i card, but I kept getting lockups/sound loops. As an experiment I ghosted back on a copy of XP home, installed the latest nvidia drivers, and I haven't had a single lockup since. Probably means that nvidia have been putting more time into the xp drivers than the 98 drivers. Personally, as long as it works... Chris [ October 19, 2002, 09:29 PM: Message edited by: PIATpunk ]
  7. cost me AUD$101 and took around 10 days to arrive. PIAT
  8. Not a problem. We'll be home by Christmas.
  9. Yep, but you have to minimise/maximise to get the screen up. I reckon there's somthing screwy with the CMBB demo though. None of my other Direct 3D or OpenGL games have any problems at all, but with CMBB I have random lockups with looping sounds, which requires system reboots, and have to go through the process of minimise/maximise for FSAA to work at all, even for the older 30.82/30.87 drivers. I am not convinced it's a nVidia issue at all. Chris. [ September 30, 2002, 05:18 AM: Message edited by: PIATpunk ]
  10. nah Jim it's probably that crappy ISP of yours Chris
  11. Hehe... gotta love Red Barricades, what a work of art, so many memories. Onya Mr X, we love you! Chris [Edit: me no spill beans ] [ September 16, 2002, 06:14 AM: Message edited by: PIATpunk ]
  12. Other companies who release maps / modules /scens for use with ASL don't reference the original product at all in print - they call it something like "ad. Sq. ld." or similar "close but not breaching copyright" descriptions. I would suggest a similar tack with anyone trying to release ASL-inspired scens - don't call them the same scenario name or mention ASL/SL anywhere. But it makes it a tad difficult to then make them identifiable as ASL/SL scens I suppose Chris
  13. Always hated the shockwaves in CMBO. Thank goodness they are gone in CMBB!
  14. Death Clock? I suppose BTS might attract some heat if they called it Unknown Kill
  15. subtle as a sledgehammer but it got your attention Lock away, as necessary.
  16. Is there any way to use the rapid scroll feature (normally on the keyboard number pad) via the mouse only? I would like to be able to hold a key down on the keyboard and be able to scroll quickly using the mouse, as an example. Tks PIAT
  17. Jim don't listen to them! Install Opera 5 - it actually works, and it's free. www.opera.com
  18. Please update the awful soldier graphics for cm2. I don't play the game at all, every time I used to zoom close to the little dollies I'd giggle, it would put me off
  19. I have no problems with the Nvidia reference 6.31 drivers with my v7700, but then again I don't use anti-aliasing.
  20. a little OT, but SSG have just released a free, updated version of their classic Ardennes Offensive PC game...you can get it direct from: http://www.ssg.com.au/tao/tao2.EXE (8 MB) I don't think it works with win NT/2000 though. PBEM games are a hoot!
