  1. Yes Noob I am well aware that US paras fought the FJ in Carentan(I've seen band of brothers too ).Pretty sure they didn't fight 'em in Sicily though.Primosole bridge is kinda famous from the Sicilian campaign.
  2. I'm not sure on the specifics but I think it was the Brits who came up against the Fallschirmjager.Primasole bridge if memory serves. If so they will possibly be added when the Commonwealth expansion is done,or maybe a later expansion.
  3. Without checking or testing or anything like that,it may have something to do with the hotter and dryer climate.
  4. I'm utterly self centred when it comes to BFCs time. I don't want them wasting time on something I have no problem with especially when it could be spent on content. That list of Russian front releases makes me weak at the knees just thinking about it,dare I wish for such things! $640 can I give it to you now?
  5. Must have fire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z61tlxcqaVE&feature=related
  6. {,} enables adjustment of the 3D model quality in game. Hope this helps
  7. Well I play RT and have no problem with the camera controls, fluid and intuitive. Once again of course this is just MY OPINION
  8. I personally have absolutely no trouble with the camera controls, never have. When people bring it up I am completely perplexed.I've never had a problem getting to where I want to be and doing what i want to do.I find it fluid and totally intuitive. Obviously some people find the camera controls cumbersome and struggle with them. Now if there's a problem like a flat tyre, well then the damn things flat isn't and you need to stop and fix it.This is not the case because when people say to me your tyre's flat I'm like wtf this damn things driving perfectly, there's air in my tyre there's no pull to the left or whatever,it's all good. Perhaps it's more like Automatic and manual(stick shift for you US of A folks). If you learnt to drive in a manual then switching to automatic is easy, just throw your left foot away.Switching the other way ain't so simple. With manual, although I have to do all the work myself and it can be a little tricky if you ain't used to it,I get to make all the decisions not some computer program or game designer who wants me to be at a specific event at a specific time. There does seem to be a standard in various computer games(well the ones I've played)as to camera controls and BFC do not adhere to the standard as this isn't really a computer game it's a wargame played on a computer. Of course this is my opinion and when it comes to opinions Dirty Harry's qoute always springs to mind.
  9. If you're looking for an accurate and realistic tactical wargame/simulation,regardless of reviews or stumbling with the GUI(which I've never actually found to be a problem),sooner or later you're gonna end up here.
  10. Ah yes,plan B I use that a lot followed by C,D,E,F and G .....
  11. Exactly what I was about to say,if an old bugger like me can figure it out surely these computer savvy youngsters can.
  12. Disregard above post. Hey Childress, click on the file you wish to delete, then click on the icon to it's right, finally click delete file and you'll get a prompt asking if you wish to delete it,the rest is self explanatory.
  13. Opps Steve doesn't seem to be deleting, never occurred to me to actually try it.
  14. Welcome Lokik you have many hours of gaming pleasure ahead of you.
  15. You most certainly did miss something as you can delete saved games from within the program and I assume CMBN will soon be able to once the v2 update becomes available.
  16. Your gonna have to think differently using these puppies.May want to give it a little more than 24 hours before throwing the towel in. They got a whole lot of concentrated fire power, splitting them up would seriously weaken that.
  17. The endless reconnaissance and tactical analysis required to edge ones better half into the appropriate conducive mindframe and when that moment arrives selecting the correct method. Do I strike quickly and make the purchase before the window slams shut. Perhaps a more subtle approach. Of course the eldest can distract while you flank,or a double envelopment perhaps. A game in itself
  18. The Italians have really come alive. The fire group Breda's can put down a fairly respectable amount of firepower and of course the Brixia's mentioned by Mikey D are indispensable. Have played the Italians in CMAK,CMBB and with miniatures on numerous occasions. In FI they have engaged my imagination completely. The C2 is awesome.Just played Avanti! That was soo cool, gave the various units specific timetables to complete objectives before moving onto the main objective.Of course some took longer than others to clear their initial objectives and consequently arrived at the well planned main assault piecemeal.I steadfastly refused to adjust units schedules as they were out of communication with each other and the confusion was glorious.I really felt like the Italian Capitano screaming at his Platoon leaders who couldn't see or hear him. This is what I love about this game the confusion, the chaos the pure unpredictable nature of warfare. Truly great work.
  19. The love hate relationship of pure Chaos.Really enjoying this game.
  20. As per the video posted at the start of the thread, that looks like a nice shoot and scoot move by the Sherman crew(the battalion CO no less)whilst the Panzer IV is parked in the middle of the road. The sherman advances looking for a threat to it's front as it has reasonable concealment on it's flanks.Meanwhile the exposed Panzer IV is scanning over a large arc from which a threat could emerge at any moment. If I wanted to watch an area for possible armor I'd use a scout.I generally don't bring my armor forward untill I have something for them to specifically attend to and when I do I don't leave them sitting still for anything longer than 10-15 seconds unless of course I'm sure there are no immediate threats. I would've endeavoured to have that Pz IV in cover and once a target had exposed itself popped out with a specific arc,a 10 or 15sec pause than back into cover. If both you and your opponent are doing this then the tanks kinda neutralize each other and the Infantry can get on with their job or attempt to get their AT weapons into range. But of course you would then ensure that your tanks are protected by your Infantry to prevent this from happening and so on and so on it goes.Of course in amongst this rock, paper, scissors approach people are dying and screaming for their mothers and giving momentos to their mates to take home and give to their loved ones and there's body parts all over the place or soon to be and no one wants to get caught inside a burning tank and roast alive(knew a WW2 vet who couldn't stand the smell of roast pork),you know pure and utter chaos on a scale that just can't be comprehended. If I'd been playing the Germans I'd be kicking myself at leaving my Tanks exposed(which wouldn't be the first time)and congratulating my opponent on a well executed move. BTW PT love your campaigns, great stuff.
  21. Hobby...Hobby! This isn't a hobby, this is an attitude,a world of dead zones and cover arcs.A place of well timed artillery strikes(well sometimes),beaten zones, area fire and Cooking off brewed up tanks. A commitment to panic stricken pixel truppen running to and fro that you desperately struggle to bring under control. This is a lifestyle. To exist in this world one must make sacrifices,a job here,a relationship there and all this for something much higher than any noble cause,or righting the endless wrongs in a world that sees wrong as normal. All this is...well for FUN.
