  1. This is my biggest grip! More control over the gathering of weapons and distribution to squad members for us gamers would be fantastic. As I proposed earlier; Any squad within range of a body/ bodies could pick up weapons, ammo, and grenades by the use of the Acquire key which would pop-up the drop down menu (just like the acquisition of ammo from vehicles) with what’s available on the dead or wounded soldiers. Grenades and munitions will drop straight into the squads profile but when a weapon is selected from the menu players will then choose which squad or team member gets the weapon by clicking their weapon icon in the GUI. Currently squads will pick up weapons, ammo, and grenades but don’t have the ability to share weapons. An example of how this new use would work; when a squad or team loses a soldier with a high value weapon but can’t stop to pick it up due to the pending action. Another squad could pick-up the weapon and return it to the original squad/ team later. Currently sharing ammo works when squads or teams are close to each other but if they get separated so does the ammo supply, consequently if a player was able to retrieve munitions (increments of 50 rounds) from another squad they could fight in separate locations.
  2. Ooooh geeez . . . that was it! Thanks for that problem solver. Things are improving in respect to the performance. I’ve never had to tinker with a V card before. There is a bit of a learning curve. Thanks to all for the recommendations it has pushed me in the right direction.
  3. I have to 2G version and another thing I forgot to mention about this new card is all the tree tops disappear when I scroll close so I see only sticks. Then when I scroll out the trees return but this never happened with the GTS240. I’ve tried to make a few adjustments to the card to no avail. I used to like NVidia products, now I can’t tell if they are overpriced turds. This is super vexing!! None of this sounds familiar to anyone else? All your game play is smooth and slow down free?
  4. I just installed this new sweet ass video card (GTX660Ti). Before I was using a GTS240 which I was able to play CMFI but on large maps it was painfully slow. So I purchased this super card only to find out that CMFI plays the same! How can this be?! Currently when I play the maps are constantly reloading the ground cover and I have even noticed some glitches and a slow down today (which I never noticed with the GTS240). All my drivers are up to date and all my other games play fine (but they played fine before). I was expecting bliss after I spent $300 on this super V card. This can’t be the way everyone plays this game or the murder rate would skyrocket. This is making me crazy! Any suggestions?
  5. I had a similar problem with soldiers not picking up SMG’s under any circumstances Clearing a house with bolt action rifles is a costly proposition for the axis boys so the more SMG’s the better. Rifles may shoot further but every battle in CMFI has skirmishes less than 100m and/ or the clearing of buildings is required which is ideal for a SMG. I reinstalled my game and it fixed that issue. But I’d prefer more control over the gathering of weapons. The CM manual states; the acquire command allows an infantry unit to pick-up equipment, weapons, and ammunition from points where such goodies are available. Presently in CMFI the only use for this key is in vehicles/ bunkers and is unfortunately limited to small caliber ammo. Grenades, special equipment, and weapons in vehicles or bunkers would be a welcome addition. Expanded use of the acquire key giving more control to the player would be fantastic. So any squad within range of a body/ bodies could pick up weapons, ammo, and grenades by bringing up a drop down menu (just like the acquisition of ammo from vehicles) with what’s available on the dead or wounded soldiers. An example; when a squad or team loses a soldier with a high value weapon but can’t stop to pick it up due to the pending action. Another squad could pick-up the weapon and return it to the original squad/ team later. Or if a solider dies in a vehicle all his equipment could be retrieved. Currently sharing ammo works when squads/ teams are close to each other but if they get separated so does the ammo supply, consequently if a player was able to retrieve munitions from another squad they could fight in separate locations. And finally, if soldiers no longer had to climb into vehicles to retrieve goodies but now had the ability to accomplish this task from the outside. I believe this would be a phenomenal way to add dimension and enjoyment to the game. One last thought on munitions. It would super if the vehicles that are attached to mortar teams, rocket and gun crews carried extra ammo for their perspective caliber weapon.
  6. I couldn’t agree more. I was moving a 75mm AT gun forward when I started taking artillery fire. The crew obviously took cover and started crawling. Because the gun was still “attached” to the crew the gun would crawl with them. So the gun acted like a solider moving unnaturally back and forth. Come on, really?! The graphics on these guns and crews needs to be re-worked as well. When I moved some Italian cannon crews to a proper firing position the guns jerked around erratically every so often. And the soldiers moving canons and AT guns look idiotic, they walk with their arms in the position of caring a rifle but nothings there. If you’ve played TOW2 then you’ll know what I’m referring to, how the gun crew’s movement looks vastly superior to CMFI. CMFI is an enormous improvement over TOW2 yet there are a few small yet significant issues that TOW2 does better. One of which is the movement of artillery pieces, this is disconcerting due to the price of CMFI and the advancement in gaming technology.
  7. Overall the features on this game are outstanding, but the playability is crap! The AI is a cheating POS! I ran three guys up behind an AT gun emplacement and had no LOS. WTF! Are you kidding me!! I'm standing 5-10m directly (no slope) behind the gun w/o trees or shrubs to block the view even slightly! And AT guns almost NEVER miss and they don't get rattled like my tank crews. I'll be pounding an AT gun emplacement @ 550-600m with four PZ IV and the AT continues to fire back knocking out three of my AFV’s never missing! Three shots three kills under conditions that would rattle the best AT gun crews. My tanks get hit once w/o penetration and the crew is rattled consequently I lose control of the vehicle. Sherman’s firing on the move don't miss while I can't return fire because my tanks don't have a LOS. I used to love this game but I can’t play it any more . . . the frustration is taking years off my life.
  8. What about the elephant in the room! There aren’t any Fallschirmjageren depicted in CMFI yet the 1st parachute division provided a critical role on the Island. Who cares about a small role the Brits played when Germany's elite are left out of the fight.
  9. So the new CMFI is amazing! I'd love to shower Battlefront with tons of praise but I'm sure they've had enough of that already. The detail and all the features are very thoughtful. I haven’t played the ‘Normandy’ variant but when the v2.0 engine is released for it I’ll purchase that one as well. I’m so impressed with this game that I can’t wait for more Italy releases. I could in vision a Monte Cassino version . . . and that brings me back to the reasons for this message; Fallschirmjager and MP40’s. 1st- There aren’t any German paras depicted CMFI yet the 1st parachute division provided a critical role on the Island. Sadly Germany's elite are left out, are there any plans to correct this oversight? 2nd- Axis soldiers with rifles won’t pick up machine pistols. MG34 and 42 assistants with pistols won’t pick them up as well as commanders with pistols won’t pick up them up either, not to mention Italians won’t pick up M38s! Why is the machine pistol so undervalued? The Fallschirmjager used this weapon with great effectiveness, in fact they popularized the MP38/ 40 having 1 in 4 men caring them at the start of the war but the ratio creased as the war progressed. Is there a way fix this issue so MP's are a high value pick-up like MG's? Thanks again for the super game!
