1. Yank, Yes, they are still available. Don't know why is would be asking you for a password. Both links are working for me. Let me know if you can't get them and I'll email them to you. Make sure the mailbox of the email address you give me can handle at least a 3.5MB attachment.
 2. Reichmann, Check the links in my first post. You can try either ftp or http to download the file now.
 3. Oh what the Hell! This is the 363 iteration of this question and I haven't answered in a single thread yet so... 28. Playing CM since June 2000 at the ripe old age of 26.
 4. Buckeye, Try it now. New link is above in my first post or here.
 5. Buckeye, What error are you getting? It seems to be working fine for me. I am going to change the access so it goes through http instead of ftp to see if that fixes the problem. Should be available in an hour at the latest.
 6. OK. Based on some feedback, I've made a few changes and posted version 1.01 of the explosions and incoming artillery sounds available here (http) or here (ftp). The only change is an alternate set of sounds for misses and small ordance (60mm mortar, grenades, bazookas, etc.). Thanks to everyone who responded. [edited to fix link, give both ftp and http access] [ 12-17-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

 7. Binkie, I took a listen to the "miss" sound issue. Unfortunately, Panzerschrecks and Bazookas use a varying sound, anywhere from 00000200.wav to 00000209.wav. So if you fix that problem of Bazooka or AT shell with a smaller sound, you end up with wimpy mortar or shell explosions for 81mm and 75mm and all direct fire guns below 100mm. I will provide some alternate sounds for the small explosion series (00000200.wav - 00000202.wav) if I can find some that are a good compromise.
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Binkie: But I noticed that bazooka shells that miss now hit the ground with a pretty big thump...is this accurate? Seems a bit too deep of a sound for a 60mm shell at such a low speed and shallow angle.

An unfortunate side effect. I might look into that and find out which file is used for misses. I believe it is the 00000200.wav. You might try going back to the BTS original or your previous sound if you have a backup. As a side note, I think I might submit these to CMHQ or another site. Where I have them now has to be strictly temporary. The new post will probably include an alterate "miss" sound if I can get that worked out. Any CM site owners want to publish this?
 9. If one does exist, it is illegal (as are all cracked EXEs). Expect a message from a large, bald man shortly. [ 12-15-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Massattack: Thank you Sitzkrieg, I liked them....they have more of the CRUMP of HE explosions!Makes it more enjoyable? being under a heavy arty bombardment...........did I say that???

Your welcome. These were really never intended to go beyond my hard drive so I'm glad others are enjoying them. I was definately going for more of the short "CRUMP" effect instead of the default sounds which sounded more like blasting in a strip mine. Also, thanks to WineCape for pointing out the size of the file. Forgot to mention that in my initial post.
 11. OK. Too many requests and no email servers that will take this file. (too big!) So, anyone who wants to check out the explosion and incoming arty sounds I have collected can get them here. Comments welcome, constructive or otherwise. I'm sure I'll get a few of both with this group. [ 12-15-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

 12. Speaking (no pun intended) of German voice mods... Tom's CMHQ has some pretty good German voice mods as well. Agree what you said about the French voices. They have a very sterotypical sound to them, like Pepe Lepew (not insulting anyone, just that's what it reminds me of). The British voices could use some help as well.

 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Silvio Manuel: Sitzkreig, Please e-mail me a copy as well. Thanks, Kevin

It will be later tonight as I am at work right now.
 15. phil, Not an expert on artillery sounds but I might have a solution for you. I did quite a bit of work with some existing sound files to get explosions and "incoming" sounds which I found to be more realistic. I use the same sound for the entire class of explosion (small, medium, large and huge) so you don't have one 81mm mortar shell going "poof" and the other sounding like a 155mm shell hitting. If you would like, I can email you a copy. Let me know.
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Micheal Wittman: Hello, what's a ruleset and what do I do with it?

A ruleset is what applys a particular CMMOS mod or option. You really don't need to now anything more about rulesets than that. You don't do anything with them directly. They are behind the scenes and run CMMOS (i.e. apply the mods).
quote:
Should I down laod all the files?

You don't have to. Most buttons will become disabled if you do not have a particular mod installed.
quote:
and do I need to run CMMO3 every time I start a new battle? Reason being I may not be so informed as to what might be the appropreite unit match up to run. Thank You for your help!

No. If you have a "look" you like for your vehicles/buildings/uniforms or whatever, it is not necessary to change before every battle. The only time it might be advisable to change before you start a new battle is if you were playing a battle as a Commonwealth nation and are now playing as the US or Free French. This is because of BMP file sharing for some vehicles (Stuarts, Shermans, halftracks, and so on). Hope this helps... [ 12-13-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

 17.
quote:
Originally posted by highlife: Incredible job by all. One question. I just downloaded Makjager's new Jagdpanther but realized there wasn't a ruleset for it. When I went back to CMHQ it appeared the mod had been removed from the list. Is there a problem with it or just missing a ruleset? Thanks

That one is not ready yet. I believe Manx removed it, and a few others that are still in beta testing, so you were just a bit too fast for him. Shame on you, Manx. Teasing people like that.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by The Commissar: Don't worry - I'm sure we will have uniforms-a-plenty.

Especially once the modders get rolling on CMBB. Andrew, you listening?
 19. Holy crap! Some people are gonna burn out there modems downloading all of this! I didn't realize there were so many! Glad I already have them.
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by 109 Gustav: My base is getting fairly sore. I think I need to stop using the college-issue chairs and get a comfy one.

"Give him the...COMFY CHAIR!"

 22.
quote:
Originally posted by Rommel22: Well I don't, but my dog does!

Is your dog named Sparky? (10 cool points for those who get the South Park reference) [ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

 23.
quote:
Originally posted by CombatGeneral: Honor, something few of you seem to be capable of here.

ROTFLMAO! Whatever.
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Canuck: So is Funnyman the same person as Outcast???

Based on KwazyDog's post, I would say that is a resounding YES!
 25.
quote:
Originally posted by RCHRD: Thanks all, and what is CMMOS. (Combat Mission Mistreats Our StuG's?)

CMMOS = Combat Mission Mod Option Selector It's a program written by Gordon Molek and tested by his lackys (I being one of them) that replaces the batch file system originally used to change vehicle mods between nationalities. CMMOS allows you to easily switch between multiple different mods that are all installed in your BMP folder. Just download a CMMOS compatible mod and apply it to your BMP folder, run CMMOS, select the mod you want, apply it and load your scenario. For more info, read the readme.rtf file included with the CMMOS installation. Hope this helps.
