Looking for a specific BMP file...

Can't mod it. It's hard-coded into the game, along with unit bases and Bazooka/Panzerschreks. Some other things I'm probably missing as well.

Will CMBB make CMBO obsolete?

Try reading the manual.

That would look nice. Do you have a larger picture possibly? Fernando, Gordon, you guys listening?

If you are satisfied with CM then POST HERE!
Sitzkrieg replied to Dark Knight's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Totally satisfied. Only game I've been playing for over a year now. Best game out of the box (no lockups, etc.) I've ever bought. Probably the best piece of computer software I've seen as well. Charles's programming is pretty damn good stuff considering he's doing it by himself. Buy it. This won't be a game that sits in the closet and collects dust after a couple of weeks or days.
quote:
Originally posted by Pak40: Carl(Carwood?)he's being played by NKOTB's Donnie Wahlberg

Actually, I think he's done a pretty good job in BoB so far, despite his previous musical associations.

Sgt. Carwood Lipton is one of the main characters of both the show and the book. Damn, Pak40 beat me by a couple of seconds. [ 09-20-2001: Message edited by: sitzkrieg ]

I think the way MGs are going to be handled in CM2 might answer alot of your questions. Might want to check the CM2 FAQ (can't find the damn thing right now). Things like fire lanes will help to give MGs more of an advantage. I'm guessing that MG bunkers (not pillboxes) could represent an MG nest. Like you said, things in CM tend to be abstracted so an MG bunker could be a MG nest (i.e. a log covered foxhole), not necessarily the square box CM depicts. Hope that helps...

I guess it wouldnt hurt to lock this baby up.
Sitzkrieg replied to Fieldmarshall's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
FM, As much as it pains me, I have to agree with Max on this one. Pretty inappropriate post (I saw the original title). BTW, please think before you post in the future. I don't know how many times you have started a topic, then change the title asking BTS to close it. -
Corrupted WAV file would be my first guess for unusual sound. But if you've copied the originals back from the CD like you said and still have a problem? Did you exit out of CM before copying the WAV files? I was adding some new WAVs for Tom's CMHQ last weekend and noticed that CM doesn't release the WAV files until you exit CM. Otherwise, you might try the tech support forum.
-
Plus, it would be pretty hard to download 450MB unless you have a broadband connection.
-
Probably a messed up WAV file. I had problems converting a few of the MP3's from Tom's CMHQ this weekend. I specified the wrong parameters and had the German voices in sounding like they were in slow motion.

Thank you, Doug. At least somebody can understand what I was trying to say.
