modifications of the great tanks Jadtiger(JPz V)
mike8g replied to kawas's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Neither can vehicle stats be changed in CMBO nor can such a thing be downloaded from the given link. Just plain nonsense... Got a beer, some potato chips and sat down in front of my monitor, waiting for the inevitable to happen Hi Mom! [ August 20, 2002, 05:22 PM: Message edited by: mike8g ] -
What if WWII were _exactly_ like CMBO?
mike8g replied to Tarquelne's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
1. Flak trucks would never have seen action as they never went beyond the stage of quality control. 2. The most used question by photo intelligence officers (when analysing pics of enemy troops) would have been: "What grass are they using ?" 3. Tank crews would not put paint on their tanks for additional camo, they would just load a mod. Marcus -

Not directly. I'm currently planning a program for the whole day. We will meet definitely some hours before (around midday), proceed to a nice Biergarten in Lahnstein and then advance toward the museum. I'll post the info here when all plans are finished. Marcus

LightningWar, they don't shoot their guns. Hey, the museum is in the middle of an urban area. Just imagine the collateral damage They only drive around with their tanks. At the last event they used the Stug III, a Panther, a M5A1 Stuart, a Kettenkrad, a post-WW2 Russian tank and some modern western tanks. Ozzy, "Panzeranklopfgerät" was a mocking nickname given to the early versions of PAKs (e.g. 3,7cm) after they've become obsolete, as the only thing they're usable for was to knock on those tanks. Panzer= tank anklopf(en)= to knock on (e.g. one someone's door) gerät= device Marcus

Sounds great. The "Crew" shall meet again. Regarding crowded parking lots around the museum: I think we should meet somewhere else some hours before and then drive to the museum with fewer vehicles. I have parking space for about 14 vehicles at my house, which is a few hundred meters away from the Autobahn A3 Köln - Frankfurt. From there it's about 35 kilometers to the museum. I'll send an email with details to the crew of our last meeting. Marcus [ August 08, 2002, 08:27 AM: Message edited by: mike8g ]

CMBO intro movie available for download?
mike8g replied to Visom's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Sorry, but this won't work. In the US version the intro movie is coded in Quicktime format. The file is named 1000.mov and is stored inside the /mov folder. In the CDV version the "CDV"-Intro is stored in AVI format. The file is named 1000.avi and is stored in the /AVI folder. So you cannot simply replace the CDV-intro with the original one as it has a different movie format. Marcus [ July 12, 2002, 06:02 PM: Message edited by: mike8g ] -

Here's a picture of it: It's nothing special, I just made the stock graphics hires and replaced the blurry star on the bow with a more sharp variant. You can get it here: M18 Hellcat Marcus -

mike8g replied to athkatla's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
athkatla, two possible reasons: 1. You have installed Deanco's Gunmetal interface mod without the Font Fix. 2. It could also be a driver issue with Nvidia-based graphic cards. In that case head over to the Tech Forum. Marcus [ June 23, 2002, 10:12 AM: Message edited by: mike8g ] -
Regarding flag placement: Go to map view (from the editor). You can move around the flags like all other units ("P" command). Marcus

I only have one picture, but tomorrow we'll get better ones from Warphead.

Holien, Cogust is, like me, a member of the "Band-Of-Brothers" gaming club. He's also MIA there. IIRC, it was said some days ago, that he had some RL issues (studies etc). Marcus -

Just like Geocities or Tripod, Lycos down not allow external linking. But in contrast to them they do not block such links on the first attempt. Everything runs fine at the beginning. The blocking will start after a certain amount of time and/or (??) bandwidth usage. I had the problem before myself, asked them and got a reminder on their Terms Of Service.
