1. Another result, Fangorn has beaten mike8g 70 - 30. This make the race for the cup much tighter..
2. highlife, not yet. Like I said in my first post: -preview- and -early stage-. There's still much left to be done. Marcus
3. Complete gun mod sets are available at Tom's CMHQ http://home.nexgo.de/tcmhq/International.html Look under MODS - Axis armor for Axis guns and under MODS - Allied armor for the Allied gun set Marcus
4. Hi russelmz, nice idea with that personal tour... Good to hear that you survived that journey unhurt. Lucky one, you may have ended this way:
quote:
Originally posted by russellmz: ...also, found a free image hoosting site finally! of course i only have 11 days before these are deleted, and 50k per pic cap but it hasn't closed and it's free...whew!

Regarding the image hosting service: Have you tried Lycos ? http://photos.lycos.com - free service - no ads or nag texts in/on the pictures - 15 MB for jpg-pictures - no picture size limitation - no auto deletion Marcus [ 10-24-2001: Message edited by: mike8g ]

5.
quote:
Originally posted by Pascal DI FOLCO: There's two front wheel pairs that lost their rubber ?

Hehe, nice explanation ! No seriously, some Jagdpanzer had one or more steel wheels at the front, due to their "front-heavy" construction. Just have a look at this picture: (shown at www.armourinfocus.co.uk) redwolf, the buildings are from Magua's rural building set; don't know where I got the pavement Marcus [ 10-21-2001: Message edited by: mike8g ]
6. After some hours in front of my PC, I'd like to give you a small preview of my next mod: Jagdpanzer IV series (ambush camo scheme) Based on the great PzIV series from Fernando Carrera. However, it is in an early stage and far from being complete. Marcus
7. Treeburst & Fangorn, I got the information from another tournament that MrSpkr has severe ISP problems. Marcus
8. USTanker, the winter croc trailer is part of Feldgrau's Churchill mod, available at Manx' www.combat-missions.net Marcus
9. Or you might try LYCOS - 25 MB space for JPG files - direct image linking - NO advertising http://photos.lycos.com [ 10-15-2001: Message edited by: mike8g ]
10. Congratulations. The 199m kill supersedes my 196m kill with a regular PIAT-team. Looks like as if the veteran status makes up for 3 more meters ... Marcus
11. For all those who suffer the broken link problem: It seems to be a incompatibility issue between the server and your browser (especially Netscape). This is the download syntax from the page: http://www.militarygamer.net/combatmission/armored ambushcm.zip (There's a SPACE in the scenario name) This is the ONLY version in which the server accepts the download call: http://www.militarygamer.net/combatmission/armored%20ambushcm.zip (No space, but a %20 instead) And that's the key to the problem. Netscape uses the syntax from the page and sends it to the server, with an error as the result since the server expects a %20. IE takes the syntax from the page, converts the SPACE into a %20 and sends this changed call to the server. WWB, to solve this problem you should not use spaces within file names on that server. For all those who get an error, there's a simple workaround: - Copy the link into memory - open a new browser window (or use the current, doesn't matter) - paste the link into the browser window (do NOT press ENTER) - replace the space(s) within the link with a %20 - press ENTER Marcus [ 10-13-2001: Message edited by: mike8g ]
12. Herr Kruger, can't remember, but I've sent it to you via email. (As MrSpkr might have said: I hv snt y th Sn Cnnry grphcs)
13. tiborhead, don't know, the game is still running. The graphic shows a Marder III, but this might not be true.
14. Barticus, your idea seems logical, but it was an upper hull penetration Here's an image:
15. Right, but other AT-weapons have their highlights, too. Just achieved a 196m kill (second shot) with a regular PIAT, which maximum range is 200m. Excellent accuracy....
16. bfamily33 and Michael, I've made a small variant for your superb Tiger with rusty spare tracks and a less distorted iron cross on the back of the turret. Interested in the files ? Marcus
17.
quote:
Originally posted by mike8g: Quite undecided. My flanking attack was crushed, but my Daimlers managed to take out a StuG IV. Another fell victim to an AT-gun, while he toasted some of my vehicles with Panzerschrecks. We both have tanks and troops left to seize and hold the VLs.

Nope, still running. The actions mentioned above happenend all during the first turns. mike8g
18. Doug, the Hellcat and the tank destroyer mods have been sent to Manx yesterday. Peter Panzer, regarding the gun-shield. Ahem, I must admit it is the second option. Expect it soon. Marcus
19. Feldgrau and Michael, I've identified the track, it's from one of Marco bergman's Sherman packs. Just look for this mod: bergman_all_us_ff_m4_hr.zip There a file named tracks.zip inside, if you open it you will find the track (which is 4020.bmp) Marcus [ 10-06-2001: Message edited by: mike8g ]
20. MikeyD, thanks for permission Colonel_D., Hoopenfaust is right, the pavement (675.bmp) is from Magua's building set. Shipmonkey, the TD's will be available at Manx's site soon.
21. I have a couple of more new MODs on my harddisk, but I'm not sure if it is 'legal' to release them to the public, since they're based on the work of other authors. My last mod, the Wirbelwind/Ostwind for example, was based on Gordon Molek's and Fernando J. Carrera's work. I have written permission from these authors to use and modify their work, so no problem with that, since proper credit has been given along with my mod. Okay, here are the specific mods along with a short description and the encountered problems: M18 Hellcat Textures expanded to HiRes, but generally unchanged. Replaced the "blurry" star with a better one. Since this mod is only based on the stock CM graphics, there should be no problem with a public release, if there's some interest for it. M10, M36, Wolverine and Achilles (Improvement for the M10 / M36 TD mod from Mike Duplessis) Since Mike's mod was partially LoRes, some more textures were made HiRes (hull and turret sides). Suspension replaced with the highly detailed suspension texture from Marco Bergman's Sherman. A star added to the turret side. BMP-Files renamed to fit for the British Achilles TD (plus additional textures for the turret) There's no problem with the texture from Marco, since he has given a general permission to use and modify his work (with the usual credit...), but I have not contacted Mike Duplessis yet, since I don't have an email-address. Perhaps someone can help me out here, because I really like to contact him, before I re-release some of his stuff. M24 Chaffee (Improvement for the M24 mod from John S. aka Tiger) I used a perfect sideshot photo (from www.jagdtiger.de) to make a better looking suspension. This is a one-file-replacement, resolution stays the same. (Tried to use the wheels for the Pershing, too, though not 100% correct). This mod replaces some of John "Tiger" S.'s work. He used to be not amused when somebody else used parts of his mods (I remember a dispute he had with another author who used his StuG suspension), so this M-24 mod would probably be a no-go. On the other hand, John has left the CM community, so I really don't know if I should make this mod public. Any comments welcome Marcus "mike8g"
