An old soviet tank article for the new people.
lcm1947 replied to Lorak's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Thanks for pointing this article out. I was not aware of it. Very interesting reading. Thanks again. -
Thanks for the info. I'll just go have a look see.
-
Alright, I'm going and thanks. I'm dying to see what they look like.

No, you got it. that's what I meant. I really think it would make a huge difference. Actually, I think it's a great idea and can't believe it's not been brought up before. Coarse , I use a lot of tanks in my games ( Me against the AI ) and need it.
-
Not a tank expect by any means and I normally don't even take part in a discussion of this type, letting those who know a ton more then myself have their say, but I do want to point one thing out. If the T-34 was the best program of the war as you referred to it then why did they use our Sherman's? I would think that alone tells which the best tank program use. So, there I jumbed in and spoke my piece. I might be wrong but seems like a good point.

I was playing a game just earlier and realized something. Oh, I had noticed it many times before but never really thought about it I guess, although it always bothered me. You can't just have the turret on a tank rotate in the game. The whole tank has to. There's been many, many times I would have just wanted the turret to rotate instead of the whole tank. What a waste of time, not to mention the times I've been knocked out because it took so long to rotate the whole tank that the other tank or whatever shot first and got me. Now this has got to be important. It's almost like your tank becomes a turretless one not being able to take advantage of this feature.

Wow! Nice, very nice. Take care of those hands (wrists). Don't want you to stop from making mods. Great job, thanks!!
-
Hey now, that really looks neat. I like it and will try it when you are ready. It really is nice!!!! Man, you guys make me almost want to try, but hell I just learned how to download mods not that long ago. I'll wait a bit before trying something that tough. But my hats off to you guys that can. Yes, this might be a keeper.

Yeah, sounds like a pretty cool lady. And a sense of humor, excellent. -
Very nice job. We'll be waiting for it.

Very nice. I will have to try them. Stupid question time. Can I use these in winter? I want to see muddy roads. Right now you can't see the roads hardly at all for the snow.

COMBAT MISSIONS: Just a quick note about the MOD LIST
lcm1947 replied to Manx_CM's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I didn't follow that? But that's OK. Thanks Manx. That list is going to be handy. -
Well why was all that stuff in a sump pump anyway? I don't have a sump pump but if I did I don't think I'd store books in it. Life does suck sometimes, however. Sorry for the loss. Now I'm sad :C

You're going to be very happy with this game. It's the last game you'll ever buy. I'm just not interested in anything else now. Spoiled! Of Course CM2 is coming out. And welcome Stix.

Most anticipated Soviet vehicles for CM2
lcm1947 replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
You said which two tanks right? Good, for me it's the T-34 and KV-1. Man, I just want to look at them, drive them and shoot something with them. But I'm afraid I'm spoiled as far as our current lineup goes, appearance wise due to the great mods everybody has made. What if nobody never ever makes us any Russian mods. Think about that. Man, bad thoughts. -
What the hell. I think about being someone I'm not sometimes, I also know I don't really want to be that person for real. I'm happy that I'm me, but hey I think about it. No big deal. People make too much out of stuff now-a-days. Why back in the old days.........

Yet another (yawn) grass from Gunnergoz
lcm1947 replied to gunnergoz's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I don't know about anybody else but I'm excited about your new grass. It is the best I've seen. I just did some comparing and there's no doubt - this looks fantastic!! It really looks real. Excellent job Gunnergoz and thank you. All my maps will have your grass in them. Damn, you've put a lot of work into this. -
I came along after you want away I guess but hey welcome back! Work sucks, don't it?

What sort of "mouse" are you guys using??
lcm1947 replied to ARCHANGEL's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Well, here I was going to tell you all about the Logitech Track Ball and look what happens. Everybody that reads this forum beat me to it. I've used mine for over a year now and love it. Also, I would almost bet that I have seen a lefty track ball. Don't remember by who but I was thinking I did. Course, I guess I could be wrong. -
BIRDS SINGING IN CMBO, MAJOR PROBLEM!
lcm1947 replied to Tiger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
God, I love reading this forum. It just makes my day if you don't get a least one really good laugh something is wrong with you or you're at the wrong forum. Good point however. I used to be a hunter and when you blast away with even one high powered rifle - birds aren't going to be singing their lovely little songs. -
I just very recently started playing by email and have a question for anyone or everyone that cares to answer. Is the balance fair between the two sides? What I mean is, is the game actually any easier with one side or the other? Seems to me the German's have an advantage, Although I just got the you know what beat out of me when I was using the German's, but I beleive that was more to the other person's experience than what I'm talking about. Is it balanced?
