  1. Didn't the Finnish StuG's have MGs already in August 1944. Just generated battle based in august 1944 and the StuG G (early) had no MG's. I've been in the impression that StuG G's did have loaders MG before, even the finnish ones. Finnish StuGs equipped with russian DT-machinegun. "The 1943 -batch StuG's were early production (but not the very early) G models with the square gun-mantlet, rubber-tyred return rollers, drive-sprockets with the "hubcaps" the loader's MG-shield, the loader's hatch opening up to the front and to the back, rotating periscope-ring on the commander's cupola and early type fendersupports.   2. I've beaten soviets with the Pak's That 37L46 gun on Pak 36 seems to have penetration values of 50L42, at least those are *identical* to those. Interestingly the HE seems to match perfectly 37mm. funny..
  3. Without any bonuses, I had 1 crew member lost and one PzIII immobilized. I were on the finals of annihilating last few troops, but they surrendered before I got it done. was about 3 units left, those whos by you're going first... I didn't care to stop for them until everything else got annihilated. Got few prisoners too, before the final surrender. As russian, I did loose half the AT guns, almost all the PTRD's, but won. PTRD's and couple maxims just because i set them up in place where my guns didn't have proper coverage. 5-6 AT guns were lost.
  4. Hello? Thats not Pak 36 :> The Pak 36 in demo uses penetration stats of a 50mm cannon. 50L42 KwK 38, APCBC round. Why do I think so? 1) too high penetration values for Pak 36 2) it retains penetration over a range too well for 37mm projectile. I think the HE stats for Pak 36 are of 37mm however. Seems to be almost exactly identical penetration value with 37mm.

  6. I wonder what rounds those are in question. For PzGr 40, it is too weak at close and too good at distance. (22mm@30 at 2000 meters?!) Interestingly HE stats looks nearly identical for 37mm AP round. The AP stats looks like 50mm rather than 37mm. 50L42 KwK 38 to be exact. 100 - 53 500 - 43 1000 - 32 2000 - 22 Sounds familiar don't you think? 50L42 is almost identical to 37mm AP represented in demo. I suppose the devs have mixed up penetration values when making up the demo. Mystery solved.. our über germans have somehow figured out how to fit 50mm rounds into 37mm gun
  7. Since CMBO I've wanted to assign crews back to abandoned guns. My gun crews just tends to abandon their gun too easily and everyone is just aboots around the gun, while lone tank keeps soldiers around. In last game at Yelnia, my both Pak 36's were lost to abandoning, both times crews were intact. then they just layed aboots next to their guns and T34's happily roaming in the horizont. Before going down, they did smash most of the T34's.
  8. lol Ligur, I've seen that happen in Citadel when I played as russians. At one point I began advancing with KV-1S for shoot&scoot (actually, I wanted hulldown, but it reminded more of shoot&scoot.. as soon as it got into position, it reversed). On the right side of the tank was gun crew advancing along with the tank. That gun crew was routed. They walked right into the fire of 3 tanks and kept routing towards them Real heros of the soviet union!
  9. Just played Citadel and had one crew cause game to crash to desktop if clicked upon. Every time when I clicked at the crew or near it, game crashed to desktop. Heres is the save file The crew which causes this, is next to the road and the retreating PzIV.
  10. I'm sure german tankers could hit pretty well from 1000 meters with high velocity 75mm of the PzIV. Probably not badly with high velocity 50mm either. Tiger crews could have easily hit moving target at 1000 meters. (altho, in original combat mission Tiger's doesn't seem to hit squat )

  12. Downloaded the demo and after installing it noticed as first thing it resets gamma to 1.0. With 1.0 gamma it is fairly hard for me to see well in the game, when everything is quite dark. Monitor brightness is all the way yanked up to 100% and therefore I have to use gamma to come up with enough brightness to see something. Normally im using 1.8 gamma, which seems to be the "natural" brightness, where things shows up as intented and not too bright or dark. I'm using Radeon 64mb VIVO. does anyone have ideas to get through gamma reset? I hope devs would add support to change gamma or remove the gamma reset

  14. There were alot fuzz when these probably same germans did same with RS mods.. mod makers didn't quite like it that someone makes profit of their work without even asking permission.
  15. I have Radeon and it works pretty well with 4x FSAA. Many times more FPS than I had with TNT2 and it seems to even improve image quality. Probably has texture FSAA as textures got better looking.   16. Already Tiger crew should be able to hit targets from 1000 meters with first hit, or at least within 3 shots maximum. (otherwise they WONT see Tiger as their tank) 88 Flak is much more accurate than Tiger and should be childsplay to kill tank 1000 meters away. so if its like you said, then something is terribly wrong. ..and I've seen Tigers miss tanks from 200 meters.

  18. bit off topic but has anyone tried AJ-2 Casettes in IL-2? Just that could those be WP weapons? Those makes small explosion and then glows smoke for while.
  19. Germans did do indirect fire in World War I as described in first post by the brits. If the 'barrage' hit good area, it would been lethal as soldiers would throw in prone, which would actually make them more vulnerable to this indirect fire than standing. This is due to bullets dropping from the sky, not coming directly. Prone soldier can offer larger hit zone than standing soldier in this case.
  20. Overrated: British 3in mortar. Has bunch of ammo, not like that german 81mm which runs out of ammo just as it's getting in effect. very cheap for its benefit. (I just love to bog down advancing troops in the open and shoot them with MG's) Underrated: 88mm Püppchen AT launcher. It fires accurately and scores kill on a hit almost against anything. Compared to recoilles rifle, this baby reloads faster, shoots more accurately and will kill on a hit. Fairly cheap for what it can do.
  21. Came into my mind that I've seen many heavy MG42 (on tripods) equipped with ZF-4 scopes (ZF-42) which are also used with sniper rifles. You could attach ZF-42 almost any german gun except SMG's. Seen those on MG42, can be also attached to Kar98, Gw41, Gw43, MP44/StG44... That would really make long range firing more accurate, mixed with 20 rounds per second rate of fire.
  22. MG42 gunner, That 7.92mm is 7.92x33mm and rifle (the mauser) round is 7.92x57mm. So at close distance, tommy might be much more damaging when hits than MP44.. (so I would believe) although, MP44 is superior in accuracy by far.

  25. Agghh.. Civilization I is a classic, I never played II much. (I used up all my time with CIV's before II ) Funny that it classes some games as "<put game name here> series" and some like "put game name here> II" (ie. Mech Warrior II vs. system shock series) I spotted also Ultima there.. *drool* only 7 there, should be whole ultima series *grr* Ps. Wheres the Wolfenstein, the root of all bad and evil doom,quake and halflife types?
