1. Violence, naked force has settled more arguments in history then any other means. War is maximum violence and is the extension of political force.
2. Far from over - Paderborn Type: Meeting Engagement Date: April 2, 1945 Location: South of Paderborn, Germany Weather: Overcast Terrain: Dry Turns: 20 Size: Medium, Tank Heavy Author: Wild Bill Very well done, thank you.

4. Sure I would be pleased to offer you a PBEM game when you’re ready. I am not to experienced yet, I am in the mid turns of my second PBEM now. sos@kscable.com
5. Well done Germanboy on the response. As we all know NO game is a realistic simulation. Games are meant to be fun that’s why we play them. A campaign mode would be just that, fun!
6. Even in daylight…. My brother (USMC) is unloading 175mm guns from flatcars on the way to a stationary firing range in Georgia. He says “It is so hot and dusty that all the drivers have their t-shirts off and soaked with water and wrapped around there heads with only a slit to look through”. He is bringing up the rear gun in the column. He goes on to say “I am driving through what appears to be only a dust cloud when all of a sudden I come up to the gun in front of me stopped on the road. I am doing about 30mph (which is much faster then you may imagine) no time to stop! I make a sharp right off the road up a wooded hill crashing through the trees. Make a 180 turn knocking down trees with the barrel in a big circle. Drive back down onto the road and form up into the column. The column then proceeds on a few more miles to the range. This entire racket was never noticed even in broad daylight, as there was so much dust and noise just from the drivers who were able to keep their guns on the road!
7. The "TOW" is a long-range tank killer. The Bradley is designed to fire from range and concealment, never to engage in a MBT duel.
8. I would highly recommend “Panzer leader” General Heinz Guderian ISBN 0-306-80689-4 and “Panzer Commander Hans von Luck 0-440-20802-5.

10. I have had version 1.04 and 1.05 lock up solid about twice a week. Neither ctr-alt-delete nor reset will work. I have to shut down the power and re-boot. Not to bad as I play often.
11. Squad Leader/Cross of Iron. Russian Campaign. GHQ, CinC, Ros Heroics miniatures, World War II. 20mm miniatures, American war of Independence, American Civil war and 2nd. Punic Wars. Steel panthers, Jagged Alliance, X-com and East Front.
12. Verb, deride. "deriding" Treat or speak of with contempt.
13.
quote:
Originally posted by jpinard: OK, I do not care if I get flamed, but I have to say to all you whiners complaining about gamey tactics and other trivial things... HEY IT'S A GAME DAMMIT!!!!

People who share their differing opinions do not constitute whining. I myself do not worry about the minute detail of the weapons systems included in CM. As long as the game captures the flavor of the period well I am pleased and it does. I also am very excited about each and every improvement. Anyone who has spent an amount of time here knows many of them are discussed and researched here first. BTS also finds this helpful with the Grogs. supplying the research data. It saves a great deal of time to be able to go right to the source when conducting your own research. Again, Combat Mission is the new standard, as most everyone here already knows. Why not let BTS improve it? They obviously care to.
14. I sure enjoy them. The German uniform and the terrain texture packs are very noticeable and nice.

16. I had great success with my Stuarts yesterday. I even had one take out a MkIVg with its third frontal hit! Final tallies Stuart a. 2-251/1 2-234/1 12 inf. casualties. Stuart b. 4 251’s 1MkIVg 1-Puma 3 Inf. Casualties. Needless to say I was very pleased. Gene McCoy, an old friend who was an Armor company commander in Normandy and Germany. Mentioned to me that his primary use of them was to drive them through the front line areas, stealthily or using their speed and to shoot up the rear areas of the combat units his company was opposing. Saying “ A platoon of Stuarts wreaks great havoc on an enemy Headquarters”.
17. I have been reading this forum for a year. Posting to it for a few weeks. It is one of the more mature forums I have had the pleasure to be a part of. It is factual, educational, friendly, informative and VERY polite to those that present themselves in a polite manner.
18. Loud is no longer a consideration. The sound becomes part of the environment. For green troops the noise alone can freeze you in place for a few moments. After the first few seconds of gunfire you no longer even register the noise as sound and reality returns.
19. I'm only interested in the military history.
20. I would enjoy a campaign aspect greatly myself.
