anyone want to test a new secnario?
Cos replied to Pzman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Sure, send it my way. -
Tanks turning around to let someone take a shot at their rear or flank (really hate when Tigers or Panther do this and are taken out by a Stuart)
-
Number 1 would be my pick from the still shot.

quote:
Originally posted by Jonathan Van Norman: Can you play any user-made scenarios on the demo? If so, how? (I just want to see a King Tiger in action before i buy the game)

The reason it isn't in the demo is to get you to buy game . There are a number of websites (at work, sorry no links to give you) that have King Tiger mods to show you what they look like(trust me, you'll be using them).

Excellent. Can't wait to try it. Got any pics of what a burning tank would look like?

Artillery Barrage: Sit still or run away?
Cos replied to Doug Williams's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
If they can get inside a building quickly then make a run for it. If the arty is big enough to knock down a building then it won't matter if they were in the foxhole or the building. Dead meat either way. -
Here's one..... Tankfest 2001 notice

Unless your the guy in the Tiger.

Looks good, but it wouold be a real bummer to have the heat off the engine set the camo on fire

Will BTS model initial versions of PzV?

quote:
Originally posted by Homba: I am always fascinated to read about the Germans having to build bonfires under their tanks to thaw the motor oil. Will there be a BUILD BONFIRE command in CM2? hehe My two cents. Homba

Can't wait for Tiger to start creating mods bonfires -
I'll take a crack at when it's ready.

quote:
Originally posted by novApulse: I suppose noone else has ever had the enormously satisfying experience of having one of their units knocked out and 5 seconds later seeing the enemy units appear out of thin air ?? You find this pleasant ??

Pleasent no, but I did learn to leave the vehicles unbuttoned as long as possible with infantry support on the flanks while advancing (at less then fast speed). Hiding units will tend to appear after the first shot (or more) and tend to nail their target. I can think of more then one time when I couldn't even see the threat after it took out my unit. It's a pain, but it's also time to change my plans unless I want to lose more of my units.

I was fairly suprised he responded with a personel e-mail.

I guess I got unlucky/luck with it. One of my MG's spotted it when it arrived and opened up on it. Of course it silinced that MG for being so bold

Cos replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Trained them under German tractors. Smell similar to German tanks. -

If it was at less then 100 meters, then it was a real unusual kill. ------------------ Cos

Not bad, but I think the face may need to be cleaned up a little. It seems sort of surreal to me. BTW, Rommel is not a bad user name. ------------------ Cos

BIRDS SINGING IN CMBO, MAJOR PROBLEM!
Cos replied to Tiger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Don't forget Tiger, the birds should be chirping in their native tongue too. I mean where's the realism when the birds in France sound the same as the birds in Germany. ------------------ Cos -
Tank Rider Question and suggestions
Cos replied to Commissar's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Check out this site. http://history.vif2.ru/atwar/index.html The interview with Dmitriy Fedorovich Loza, Guards Colonel a soviet tank commander talks about infantry units riding on the tanks with them in a few sections. ------------------ Cos -
Played one where the German AI was pushing hard on my left flank through the woods. All of sudden rockets are droping all over the woods and a few nail my guys and they break. Next turn I'm trying to get them back together to repel the next attack and it doesn't come. At the end of the game I can see that more rocket rounds nailed this guys and completely broke the attack and left lots of dead german sqds. ------------------ Cos
