2.
quote:
Originally posted by Berkut: bumping it up one last time. Would really appreciate someone taking this out for a stroll. See if this scenario has got legs or if I should just scrap it.

ok send it my way. Need to finish another test first, but I'll get to it.
 3. Of course flamethrowers are nice on them too Have to remember to keep the Stuarts in front of the box and fire. Had two of them flank on a concret pillbox and it took around 20 rounds to take it out. Must of gone like this... Hans: Who's that knocking on the back door. Fritz: I don't know you go check it this time. Hans: OK (opens door) 37mm: Thanks (bang)
 4. Can't think of all the details at the moment, but wasn't there a USMC that won the Medal of Honor on Guadalcanal (sp?) for repeling a Japanese charge on his position by using a 30(50?) cal from the hip because everyone else in his squad was down.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan: Paton, you see the shadows of the planes, but not the planes themselves. If you click on an anti-aircraft weapon trying to fire at the plane you will see the red target line aiming into the air where the plane is. Conversely, if you click on the target at which the plane is aiming you will see the yellow incoming fire line.

Then big craters in the ground and burning tanks.......
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Mannheim Tanker: OMG! You guys are killing me. EW isn't even remotely funny, but the rest of you... Any pizza left?

Here you go....I seemed to have been paying too much attention to work and missed a few good salovs here
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by MrSpkr: Pass a slice of pepperoni, huh? MrSpkr [ 05-01-2001: Message edited by: MrSpkr ]

There's your slice.
 8. I think hunt is the right command for the job, since a turn is only a minute. How many fire/move/stop/fire/etc could a tank have done in real combat in a minute anyway.
 9. Cos orders pizza since everyone already seems to have their drinks. Mom must be out shopping right now.
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Rommel22: That's just SICK! Stuarts don't go fast enough! I do it with a JEEP!!! They go much, MUCH farther after being hit.

Especially when they go into those crazy circles and turns after being hit.
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Maastrictian: Spoilers mean giving away things about a scenario that other wouldn't know going into it. A large part of the fun of the game is not knowing what you are about to face, it makes the game even harder. Mark all posts with scenario specific spoilers with a warning and some space so people don't see anything accidentally. Also, put such topics in the "scenario" forum.

True, brain fart on my part  I guess I was thinking I would be giving away more then I did.
 12. Spoiler........ Use the cover of the trees to advance on the right side and smoke the German positions with the motor to advance. Also keep MG and some unit in overwatch (covering) to supress any German units firing on the your advancing forces. The pillbox in the demo version (I assume this is what you're using) is not as hard to kill as the ones in the current version are. Try to get the tanks to "see and target" the pillbox at the same time. The more guns firing at it the better. Don't bother using the Arty/Motors to damage the pillbox, it will just be a waste of ammo. Hope this helps.
 13. Don't worry, when the shell from the Panther hit the HT. You'd would be leaving the vehicle
 14. Don't forget the effects of using MRE's instead of C-Rations.
 15.
quote:
. Most of all I love their cute little transparent color cases. You can see the insides somewhat.

You can do the same thing with PCs. Just leave their sides off.
 16. Let me start off by saying "Hi Mom" Now on to the subject.
quote:
I'll tell ya what turned me off of Apple-based computers. When I was a Senior in Highschool back in '91, I was in a Computer Science class. We had Apple IIe computers in there with those nice mono-chrome green screens & 5.24" external floppy drives. In the same year, I took a Business Computer class across the hall, as a matter of fact. They had IMB-compatibles in there, probably 386 machines at the time. They had color screens! I believe they had Windows 3.0 on them. Graphical Interface, wow!

Wonder why they had 10 year Apple's there still (besides the fact they still worked after 10 years). You would think someone would have donated Macs to the school by then. So maybe the school sucked for not getting up to date computers Of course I was using an Amiga at that time, a far better computer than a PC and could do anything an Apple or Mac could for alot less money. Of course where is Amiga now
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by caralampio: Well it was Wiltz. No ground snow but I think that counts as winter. Doesn't explain the buildings though.

Cold air, they could see their breath coming around the corner of the building
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by JasonC: "Discounting AT guns" Others have talked about some of the other obvious points, but I stopped right here. Why am I supposed to discount AT guns? Defending infantry uses guns instead of tanks for its long-range and heavy firepower. Sandbags and shoveled earth stand in for armor plate. The guns are sorta cheaper than the whole metal beast. The big advantages of tanks in my book, by the way, is not their power against infantry - that match up turns on terrain (tanks don't do the inside of woods, etc). It is their near invunerability to artillery fire. Especially on the attack that is priceless. Foxholes and stone buildings and dispersed placement can partially counter artillery on defense. But attackers lack such cover and usually can't afford to spread thin either, or they don't punch through anywhere.

Oh I wish tanks were invunerable to arty. I can of a rainy/wet scene with a Sherman on overwatch and two cromwell's advancing either side of the Sherm on the road's edge to keep from getting bogged down. As the 3 of them are in a trinagle a German shell lands right in the middle of them. Gun damage on the Sherm and both Crom's take track hits and that's it for them
 19. Would do in a heartbeat....got the chance once to ride in the cockpit of a tin goose (1920's Ford Trimotor), but never a WWII plane.
 20. You should see the Reinforcement marker on the map. Just place it where you want them to appear. Also in the unit menu when you are on the reinforce tab, in the lower right corner will be some up/down arrows to adjust when the reinforcements will show up and what chance they have of appearing.
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by Chris Cline: Zooks and schreks don't really have the range or punch to compete.

Oh I don't know about that. I've seen some rather nice shots in the range of 70m take out a Tiger or Firefly with handheld weapons. All you need is multiple infantry targets and a few anti-tank teams (even in the open) and the tank will be dead in a turn or two. Tank will have too many targets to choose from to defeat them all before some shot kills it. That's why they need infantry support to supress the threats.
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by Lars: Vehicles do not provide cover in CM. And your infantry should be in front of that King Tiger.

Shouldn't they be on the sides to protect against zooks? The frontal armor should stop most stuff.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by M. Bates: Looks slightly orangy to me. Have you seen the Tiger from the Mad Dog add-on (available at www.combatmission.com) 'Tis good unless you've already seen it.

Orange is used on German vehicles. My 76 bug was orange.
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Bruno Weiss: I would submit that the Chinese are not pirating CM, rather they are detaining it.

Until they get a real apology from George Bush.
