  1. But they are the deadly MkIII sharpened sticks. I found the mission to be tough, but I spent most of my time seeing what the Brits could do.
  2. I keep getting "Not available. Game is currently in development." What's up with that?
  3. Has anyone else had trouble trying to download the Brit Module?
  4. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20090721/ts_ynews/ynews_ts829 Passed away June 17th.
  5. For me, it makes me care about my troops that much more and I go through greater efforts to avoid casualties. In CMBO a platoon could be under heavy artillery fire and I'd slowly see the squads go from three to two to one counter. That was hard enough. CM:N is going to be tough watching the individual soldiers get hit.
  6. No, but I suspect there is upcoming news.
  7. BFC is in a quiet period as required by SEC regulations.
  8. Same here. My only hope is that CM:N replicates the "feel" of CM:BO. SM:SF feels so sterile to me, probably due to the desert environment. CM:AK was probably the same, but I didn't spend all of my time in the desert. I think what is missing is weather. The mist/fog in CMx1 really added to the atmosphere, literally and figuratively. CMx1 also didn't have as much of the one shot-one kill and "reach out and touch" element that CM:SF has. I'm looking forward to the temperate environment, lots of green, and weather with the cover and/or concealment that they provide. Combine this with relative spotting and 1:1 representation, and I think the game is going to be amazing.
  9. It would be a continuation of the War of 1812 - Revenge of the Executive Mansion
  10. No, he's thinking, "I got the manual, but where the heck is the CD?"
  11. I knocked out the bunkers with long range fire from the Strykers. It takes some time, but you either kill or rout the troops inside.
  12. The point of this thread is not that CMSF isn't or can't be challenging, but that the OP's perception that the Syrians are not a worthy opponent - a view I share, even though I routinely get my ass kicked by the Syrian forces. In WWII the allies didn't know they were going to win early on. And even as the momentum shifted to the allies, they still respected the Germans because they had been so dominant early on. The US hasn't been truly challenged by a Syrian type force in open combat, so I, as a player, don't see them as a challenging, or "worthy" opponent in CMSF. I expect to win every time and I expect to do it with minimal losses. And from many of the Syrian briefings I have read, their job is to inflict as much damage on the US forces as they can - not necessarily to defeat them. It is all about perception.
  13. How much for a lifetime subscription for all BFC products?
  14. Yeah, they don't want another CM:SF on their hands. Steve, while you have this opportunity, is there anything else you want to tell us?
  15. It happens when the target is just out of LOS.
  16. I obviously have no idea what is really going on, but it seems to me that the subject of this "module" would be a "title" if it were an official BFC product. It is too different from CM:SF to be a module. And I presume BFC would have said something about it before this announcement and would have commented in greater detail than what Moon has said. I suspect this is an unauthorized "mod."
  17. BFC isn't dismissing the request, they are just waiting until the next game to rework the QB system. I'd love to have it now, but it isn't going to happen.
  18. I don't think there is any changes planned for the QB system until CM:N.
