1. The English commander "loosed" a volley of arrows on his own men in Braveheart, so it must have happened even back then. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
2. Having just played the Sudden Strike demo, I think the posters and t-shirts may be the best part of the game. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
3. Yes, it my understanding that there are three MGs in there, but that their fire is abstracted as one gun, so you can't fire them independently. I have noticed that the MG bunkers and pillboxes are much more lethal than regular MGs, which may be because of the firepower of the three MGs.
4. The point is he has learned how to post picures and he is showing off his new-found skill. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
5. I am a rock. I am an island. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
6. In an episode of Weapons at War or The History of the Gun on The History Channel, it was explained that the carbine was developed as a weapon to be carried by rear echelon troops and weapons crews. I presume that MG, gun, and mortar crews carried either carbines or garands as well as side arms. This must have been mentioned before, but what is the likelihood that any unit, whether a squad or crew served weapon, would run out of ammo in a period of 30 minutes or so? I'm just asking, not saying they wouldn't. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
7. I think he meant convert weapons crews to half sqads after their main weapon is out of ammo - MGs, mortars, etc. - not convert infantry squads into half squads. Sounds like a reasonable idea to me. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
8. This is a picture of me taken just before we jumped into Normandy: (Sorry, I don't have a website.)
9. I don't find it offensive to discuss gas chambers and the other horrors of WWII, but it is offensive to refer to them as JP did. However, BTS has tried to keep the discussion in this particular forum on the topic of CM. Granted, we do go off on tangents, but most people are not offended by the topics of vermin, favorite war movie, etc. Well, I guess some people are offended by hamsters. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
10. Armor Penetration Statitics for $500, Alex BLAAAAAAM! Well, Mr. Hussein, an Audio Daily Double... ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
11. HBO just had a sneak preview of Steven Speilberg's BoB coming next year. No footage of the show, but the sets and props look cool. They showed their Hetzer "mod." ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
12. Oh, thanks, Madmatt. I was using AP against the Stuart. I'll have to look for some HE explosions. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
13. Do those explosion graphics appear whenever a tank it brewed up? I just took out a Stuart and the explosion did not look like that. I pasted the new files in at the same time as the new Tiger files, and the Tiger looks great, so I know I did it correctly. I have a brand new PIII 933 with a 64MB GeForce2, so hardware should not be a problem. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
14.
quote:
Originally posted by GonzoAttacker: Just Imagine, playing Sunday a heated PBEM game and during lag time of waiting for your next move..... sitting and watching an N.F.L Game on your Satellite Dish...sipping on your Favorite Beer...waiting for the good old sound from your computer....."You got Mail!".... so much time for your woman on that day!

Tomorrow is my first Sunday with NFL Sunday Ticket... I can't wait. At least I have CM to keep me occupied. I use the "incoming!" wav file as the sound effect for arriving e-mail. It scares the hell out of me if I am not at the computer and left the volume on the speakers up. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
15. If they are only bogged, they can become unbogged. Immobilized vehicles are permenantly immobile. Does ramming really work, or was that a joke? ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
16. Only six days until the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, according to George Bush the 1st. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
17. Is this what you do between PBEM turns? ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
18. Your sig file is busted, but cool. http://smilecwm.tripod.com/ut1/rocketwhore.gif [This message has been edited by Pvt. Ryan (edited 09-01-2000).]
19. You could carry a portable MP3 player with that sound recorded on it and mount some Bose cube speakers on your helmet. I think they would be called Multimedia Infantry. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
20. That's not a cross on the mantle; it's the on off switch Nice work, Tiger. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
21. I read stories where the GIs took advantage of the peculiar ( ) sound the clip made by dropping spare empty clips even though they still had rounds in the rifle in order to fool the Germans into thinking they were reloading. Or was this just in the movies? And in the Stallone chronicals, belt fed weapons can only be fired on the run. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
22. Phoenix, I would be happy to engage in a PBEM with you. I am in CA and can play all evening long if you'd like. I haven't played against a human yet, but I have gotten good enough against the AI to proudly say that I merely suck. dkr2@home.com ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
23. I think this is more like a completely different version of CM rather than a mod. Maybe BST will consider it for the future. ------------------ No me llamo Samuel, me llamo Pedro!
24. My mom made me wear pants like that (ship) when I was a kid. As a result I am a recluse that sits at home and plays CM. The Panzer (IV?) above was officially called the ChiaPanzerKampfWagon. Tiger, I enjoy your mods, historical or not. Is there a place we can see them all or a place from which we could download them? ------------------ Ow, my leg!
25. I play at the +1 level. I find the realistic scale too small unless it is a very small map, but anything greater than +2 looks like a sci-fi movie. I like Von Fauster's solution though. As far as your other points, I will withold my opinions on those topics because they have been discussed to death. ------------------ Ow, my leg!
