1. That's what I thought too, but in the BoB thread in the General Forum, someone mentioned that the 37mm Pak fired rockets such as seen in the movie. The Puppchen was an entirely different beast that only fired rockets AFAIK.
2.
quote:
Originally posted by KwazyDog: we will have to wait until Matt is around

Great! We should see something within the next 30 days then. [ 09-19-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
3. There is lots of swearing when I play the game.
4. Manx already has a list of all the mods that are done. He was recently asking for someone to update the list for him. You might want to get in touch with him about this.
5. I thought Desert Shield and Desert Storm were good names. I believe Hitler chose Wacht Am Rhine (sp?), which AFAIK means Watch on the Rhine, to imply that he was conducting a defensive operation in case the allies caught wind of the name. Market Garden was chosen because the airborne troops were going into a meat grinder such as you would find in a butcher shop at the market, while XXX Corps was strolling through a garden smelling the flowers and drinking tea. I would cite a source for this, except I made it up. [ 09-17-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
6. Very nice job, Max. Did you alter the bmps at all? Some of the Waffen SS camo mods look a little sharper than they did when I first downloaded them. Also, the large chickenwire has some red in it. Otherwise, you've really shown what CMMOS can do.
7. You have to upload the picture to a website and link to it. There are still some free webhosting services out there if your ISP didn't give you any with your account. 109 Gustav will also host pictures for you, I think. You can contact him at The Last Defense [ 09-16-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
8.
quote:
Originally posted by hansfritz: We all use our crews as spotters, folorn hopes or as effective attacking units

No we don't. You're just a gamey bastard.
9. Understandably, not much progress has been made on the new rule sets, but any ETA would be appreciated.
10. Here are a couple of forums that allow discussion of the terrorist attacks. They may not be the people you know and they may not share all the same interests as we do, but they provide a place to discuss what happened: AVS TiVo General Chit Chat Forum DSLR 9/11/01 Discussion Thead
11. Well, my boss says I have to go to work now. I have no internet access because of Rhythms shutdown, so I guess I will find out what happens when I get home. Maybe I can get old dial-up working.
12. As the reality of terrorism sets in, the people in my NY office don't know what to do. They don't know if they should stay in the office or go home. They were told that if they leave the building they can't get back in. The subways are shut down and probably other forms of rail transporation. People want to leave but they can't get out of the city. They are afraid to take buses because they fear the bridges may be targets. My company is an insurance agency and many insurance companies are located in the WTC. We fear that the people we know are gone.
13. Here in Los Angeles the only highly visible target would be LAX, which is about 10 miles from me. My friends I have talked to are staying home and their offices are closed.
14. There is a F-15 or 16 persuing an aircraft heading towards the Pentagon, according to CNN.
15. I don't know if we will have multiple parties claiming responsibility for this. Anyone claiming responsibility would have to expect total annihilation.
16. The potential loss of life is greater than at Pearl Harbor. CNN said there could have been as many as 50,000 in the two towers when they were hit.
17. It appears that both towers collapsed almost in their entirety, although it's hard to see through the smoke. I don't see how that is possible just from the plane crashes, which were near the top of the buildings.
18.
quote:
Originally posted by Priest: REPORT OF EXPLOSION AT THE CAPITOL BUILDING UN has been evacuated. [ 09-11-2001: Message edited by: Priest ]

CNN is now reporting it. Edit, now they are saying just a sound, but the building looks ok. [ 09-11-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
19.
quote:
Originally posted by rexford: Can a hit by a rifle grenade penetrate the Tiger side 60mm or 80mm?

Perhaps not, but a whole platoon was targeting it. Maybe that represented a close assault. In any case, that Tiger was toast.
20. Maybe another time for a game. It's 1:00 am here and I need to get to sleep. Football season (American) starts at 10:00 am tomorrow, so I need to get some rest.
21. Kitty has the nicest KT mod that I know of. You can get it here. [ 09-09-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
22. So that was you posting under both names? Tournament House, Dogs of War, and Band of Brothers are three ladders that I know of. Well, it looks like Dogs of War is gone. [ 09-09-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
23. Wow, I just realized it wasn't you! I have been operating under the delusion that you coined that phrase because I thought that M Hofbauer attributed that quote to you in his sig. I guess not. Capt. Stransky's e-mail address was GAZ_NZ. Maybe that's why I was confused. But you did chime in on that thread, possibly further adding to my confusion. [ 09-09-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
