  1. CDIC, time to enjoy the fun now! It's just a great game! 5am here and I'm oplaying since more than 12 hrs... I will be in Hkk around x-mas for sure and got already in touch with Griffin Cheng and HAL9000 for drinks and a little CM meeting. Wouldn't mind to hop over once more in February/March, will be in Manila then and it's only short flight to Hkk. Pat, Philippine mail will take a bit longer Remember that parcel with my slides? Switzerland-Manila Airport Post office 3 days. Then from there to your home (about6-7km)14 days. Snail mail at its finest Regards Marcus ****
  2. Chad, Just finished a QB against the AI defendiung as Germans. Bought the stuff for both sides and included 3 Stug F8 for the AI. My Russians had 3 T-34 M43, 2 KV-I and 5 T-60 (20mm gun). In turn 4 or 5 a lone Stug ambushed a pack of two T-34's and one KV-I at arouind 600m. IT was hulldown as were one T-34 and the KV. Result: all my tanks dead. Before they did hit the Stug twice but no penetrations... And it was so qucik I couldn't even mve my tanks out of LOS anymore... Later the Stugs grouped up and muched away the remaining of my attacking force somewhere in the center. My attack came to an absolute standstill. Had to move to the far left flank to advance again and got close to one VL. AI sends up one Stug to reinforce his troops there. I got last KV I and last T-34 in good position, the Stug should get into their sights from the side. Sure enough it did, sideshots for my boys, but noooo..the Stug was hulldown..range 300 or 400m. I target it and the give my tanks a reverse order after 30 seconds with a delay for the KV-1 with radio and a very long delay for the T-34 (command tank died in first encounter). My tow tanks open up and miss..Stug slowly starts to turn. Second salvo of my tanks, missed again...Stug still turning...about 3rd salvo there is a hit...front armor by now side anlge on top of it, ricochet of course. Then Stug returns fire, T-34 is burning...KV-I manages to revers and reached a safe place... Real mean and tough those little Stugs! Luckily the AI advanced two of them in a sensless banzai charge right in the middle of my infantry hidden in the woods or in houses. Human wave attack with tanks My infantry said thank you and knocked the Stugs out - not with molotvs but with regular handgrenades (both done by HQ units). I managed to contest the second VL in the Center afterwards and would have taken it, but the game ended just then (well, turn 48 of a 40 turn battle). It was a draw - and I played as serious as if I were playing a human opponent. What a game! Actually I first wanted to buy Tiger I for the AI instead of Stugs, but the Tiger I was a bit expensive that day 400 or more points - or was it around6 600? not sure anymore, just too expensive. And maybe it was better this way, had enough trouble with the Stugs Marcus ****
  3. I tried different Marders yesterday and they were well worth the points spent. Planned Stugs for the next test game. What crews did you use? Regular or above?
  4. I just finished a QB against the Ai where I could buy a HS 129 (or was it Hs 123) with 20mm cannons at 50 pts. Of course I got it. It first srafed one of my own infantry squads, then it knocked out two already abandoned T-26 and finally it killed a MG tankette. At those prices I certainly will buy more air support - and won't forget my AA assets at home since my opponents probably will do the same.
  5. Exactly my thoughts. I really do not wish to know how many guys knew about it and used it.</font>
  6. Scipio, You are right, It is not the side bmp. In fact it looks like there is no bmp at all - and that's maybe why you couldn't find the bmp. If you zoom "inside" the KV 85 for example you can see the road wheels (from "indside"); On the front there is a different bmp and you can't see the roadwheels there; it's that part you are looking for; Now if you zoom "inside" the IS 2 that part looks like a triangle, but it looks like if there is no bmp at all, it reminds me of the neutral grey we had in BO. MAybe there is a bmp for this part; take a look a bmp 7050; This could depict the same part - except that I don't know for which vehicle...
  7. That's what I think too. Except the IS II is done different than the other tanks of course. In the foreground you can see that the inside of the running gear has the same color.
  8. Mine running good on a P400 with 256 RAM and 32VRAM. Number crunching takes a bit long in big games but bearable. Up to 2000 pts no prob.
  9. Indeed, at the beta we had the infantry in the open, "default spread out" over a rather large aera. Blast radius of 2000 covera big aera
  10. We tried it at a preview; we had actually 5 Sturmtigers shooting. Afterwards we checked the kills and got 15 here, 20 there, 30 there...we were a little disappointed and surprised. Until we checked the Sturmtiger that fired first. It had some 330 or 340 kills. Knowing this it was easy to guess what you were doing
  11. Aye, but in the skillful hands of Über-Finns ? Eh ? Über ? Finns ? </font>
  12. T-26. They burn easily. Just toasted 22 of them. Lost two PzII and a Panzerjäger I (again, poor Hans... ) in the progress.
  13. In a preview I attended additionally to captured tanks there were some soldiers of German squads which had captured weapons (Russian Submachineguns). Going off to town now, the store called me up and informed me that my CMBB is waiting for me! Yep, CMBB in Switzerland as well!!! And only two weeks to go until my well deserved winter vacation starts!!! Life is just beautiful See you in Hkk! Marcus ****
  14. Thanks for Hans and Franz! It made my day start with a laugh! It was so much fun there at the preview. Good work to show all those screenshots for those who can't play the game yet! Marcus ****
  15. One shot for sure. Maybe afterwards a few of the surrounding bldgs came down as well... At a preview we had a Sturmtiger shooting at a factory building to see if it's possible to destroy factories. One or two tiles with factory on it came down - and about a dozen smaller buildings around the factory!!! Now, that was fun.
  16. Hehe, go get it, Marcus! Just one tiny little problem here.... I actually had a lot to do today 'cause I knew tomorrow and the rest of the weekend I'd play CMBB 'till I drop. Then it came. But then, who needs food, money and clean clothes anyway? </font>
  17. ParaBellum, First thanks for all the screenshots! Remember our little Sturmtiger at the sneak preview Upon reading that CDV shipped early I checked the homepage of Mediamarkt in Pratteln, Switzerland and they got CMBB there. Release date said 17.9.02!!!!!!  One phone call and Im on my way!!!!!! Bye.... Marcus ****
  18. CDIC, Great bike! You won't be around Lijiang in December by coincidence? Would love to go on a ride in the sidecar! Too bad Shanghai is to far from Hongkong as well! Regards Marcus ****
  19. Ahh, Mediamarkt in Pratteln, 15 min. from Basel. guess I know what to do on Saturday... Still here, two more weeks to go; it's about time, getting cold at night now.
  20. I think it is an abstraction as well. It simulates how long it takes until your crew observed that the other crew actually has bailed out or that the tank is out of action. If the tank is brewing up (molten iron, etc), well then you will see immediate "results" and know that the tank is out of action.
  21. You're completly wrong; I belong to the "elite" troopers there. Means I would inform everbody in the building that you are looking for your game around 7pm, then I would go and have a (few) drink(s) and check the results at 3am... I got once my ticket to Asia this way; Friday, last day at work, sitting behind a beer in the pub and one of my buddies walks in with the envelope from the travel agency... Do you know if the game will be available in CDV outlets the same day as well (and which will be those outlets). Marcus ****
  22. ParaBellum, I could help you with that little problem - if you were living in Basle. Quick, move houses!
