Doug, If I were you I would start looking for another job. Or do something else what you are inetersted in. And you can afford it as you said. And why not leaving your job and start looking in a few months from now? Go travelling and visit CM players around the world. Travelling on your own does develop your personality for sure. Don't need any doctors for that. Or do something you were dreaming of. Skydiving or whatever. And then look afterwards for a new job. Marcus ****

Indeed. At 1.5 shots per minute. Expect 4-5 coming back your way if you didn't hit with the first shot. *goes to practice the "Shoot and scoot" command* -

Active IR equipped Panther photo here

Yep, that's what they said at the show as well. Completed after the war. Not a captured tank, never saw action. Still a beauty... -
We had a good day indeed; right from the beginning; that first class beergarden was definitly an improvement compared to other trips...and we had a posibility to prepare ourselfes for the exhibition. Then there was the old man who asked Patrick "Warphead" what kind of tank it was where we took our first group photo. Expression of surprise and nonunderstanding in his face after being bombarded by a short, but heavy barrage of informations. At least the old man knows now that it is an "PzIII flametank"... Only tank that had to be guarded closely was the American M1A1. How did they know that we were looking for something we could use for a fast and smooth ride back? Amazing the sound of the turbine of this tank. Like a slightly louder vacuumcleaner. Sucks up dust and cobblestones as well. And moves by itself. Only drawbacks were that the Panther moved only back and for for about 20-30m, but the sound of the maybach engine was still great! And the clickedicklick of the tracks on the cobblestone, awesome. Stug III wasn't moving at all, real pity here, and the beer supply was as quick as it probably was on the eastern front. 200 people falling in line at the only drinking station. And two people selling... Lucky Lindan wasn't simulating the Molotov cocktail attack on the M1A1 since otherwise he might be questioned about his intentions by now... Smooth ride back home to Switzerland ended this trip, first time without a mad last minute rush to the railway station. And with a complimentary ride as well since I hadn't bought the ticket in advance and nobody checked it during the whole ride. It was a pleasure to meet up once more with the local CM crew and I hope there will a few more meetings sometime! CHeers Marcus **** [ September 09, 2002, 09:23 AM: Message edited by: tools4fools ]

Anyone running CMBB on an older PC?
tools4fools replied to David Stone's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I've a PII 400 with 256MB RAM and a 32MB video card. The demo works fine, just the turn calculating is a bit slow, but still bearable. Your Video card might be the biggest problem, but maybe it still would work with lower graphics setting. -

I don't notice much difference compared to BO as well. But then my old P 400 was a bit slow crunching BO turns as well... Marcus **** -
I think not. The smart CM crews will shift the ammo from the rear MG to the forward MG's. I think I read on this board that tank MG's share ammo. Meaning either all are out of ammo or none.

45mm Russian guns, you gotta be kidding!

That story just gets better and better! Seems that everytime I read about it, something even more spetacular has been included. Starting to wonder how the real story was </font> -
I agree, sure not now, only if there is a need later on. But even then, why split up a slow forum into two even slower ones? True what you said, with a lot new people trying the game because of better/more press (any intersted wargamer who will not notice anything about CMBB must be living on the dark side of the moon...or maybe the little green guys already heard about it too???) the forum might get more important again. But then most probably it will be mostly questions about BB since most new players will go for the newer product I guess. Therefore few BO questions can still be handled in the same forum in my opinion. Actually a lot of topics in the BB forum would belong in here in my opinion; "how to use hull down command", etc... Marcus ****

You're right about the "BB" or "BO" question in this forum. But then the 'Tips and Tricks' forum was never really too hot. Splitting in up into two...well, with BB now, I think there would be almost nothing happening in the BO 'Tips and Tricks' forum. Maybe we better keep it the way it is. BB might be "standard" from now on and if somebody is talking about BO he will have to add it... Marcus ****

T-34 - What's your impression on this?
tools4fools replied to Mattias's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
If you go to onwar.com and check the front armor for T-34 40, 41 and 42 models, you will see that on these 3 models there was only one part that was uparmored on the front of the tank; the front turret from 45mm to 52mm and then to 70mm. Front hull, superstructre, etc reamined the same as in the first model. This indicates that the front turret ideed was the weakest (and sometimes maybe insufficent) part of the front armor and needed to be upgraded. Guess those who mentioned that the later models will be a different story for the little doorknocker might be right... Marcus ****
