  1. That is well noted, its too bad that things haven't changed since AMD took over.
  2. Well, once it comes out I'll be sure to try it out on my Macbook Pro (no powerbooks anymore). Not sure if I'll get the Mac version or the PC version. In the past ATI cards have had less issues on OSX, so I'm hoping for the best.
  3. From what I have read in the past, BFC has said that no, it will not support dual CPUs, as is the case of the CMx1 series.
  4. Not great with ATI, too bad. Don't have too much to get angry at though since the machine I'm looking at getting over Christmas break,(Macbook Pro 2.16 or 2.33Ghz Core 2 Duo) has a X1600 Mobility (128 or 256MB VRAM) looks like a little short of whats best, but thats ok with me. Just looking forward to the game. I'll be putting Windows on it to play the old CM games anyway, so it doesn't matter too much as for OS requirements.
  5. Both cards have a 250Mhz clock speed, although the 9000 Pro has a faster memory clock (250Mhz vs. 200Mhz). Here is a compairson on the ATI website: http://apps.ati.com/ATIcompare/result.asp In real world useage, keep in mind a AGP card will be faster because the PCI bus is slower.
  6. The Radeon 8500 or later has that issue, the 9200 is no exception, and its a slow PCI based card. You are better off with the Radeon 9000 AGP card, IMO.
  7. Yes a number of times, but then again I made it. It was an interesting idea, but didn't turn out as well as I would have liked in the two player area. Ok against the AI, but thats about it.
  8. If they have stuffit expander then they can open zip files.
  9. This happened, because there were growing unreliability issues with Stuffit Expander, that came up in 10.4.x so it is no longer included. The built in zip and unzipping app works just fine. Just control click (to bring up menu options or right click if you have a 2+ button mouse) and do as this poster noted.
  10. I rather like the idea of running Boot camp rather than CrossOver or Parallels, simply because it means you can have the best of both worlds, keep them apart and have 3D graphics support for any games that the hardware can support.
  11. 21, although when I started playing CM (CMBO beta demo) I was 15.
  12. Maybe Apple has some extra hardware that enables it, but I read that the Core Duo itself does not take advantage of paired memory.
  13. Whatever gave you the impression SF was released?
  14. If SK is released, I'd like to know where... ????
  15. Not in the case of the Macbook, or any other Core Duo powered machine since news came out about a week ago that it doesn't even take advantage of paired RAM sticks. Considering that the GMA950 doesn't even match the Radeon 8500 (from 2001) in terms of preformance, yes it wil run CM, but how well only time will tell.
  16. I think BFC would be silly not to make it a universal app, they would lose out on a lot of sales if the did.
  17. Yeah, I may or may not use boot camp when I upgrade to a Macbook Pro, but it is a waste of disk space for sure to have Windows on your machine.
  18. From what I've seen in the support forum over the years CM doesn't work that well on intigrated garphics, period, and the GMA950 on the Macbook and Mac Mini is hindered by having shared memory too boot. If you want to play any games on those machines make sure you have at least 1GB of physical RAM.
  19. Classic isn't supported on Intel Macs... OS9 is vaporware, RIP finally after 5 years of no updates.
  20. Maybe its their way of telling you that your employment has been terminated?
  21. The Macbook Pro (The Powerbook name has been dropped, along with the iBook name) has a good graphics chip for a notebook, ATI x1600 with 256MB VARM, should be more than enough when running in XP SP2 (you need XP with SP2 for bootcamp which is just a boot loader, after that Windows runs natively) on the machine. You may be thinking of the Macbook which has integrated Intel graphics 950 with 64MB VRAM, IMO I don't think CM would work very well with that chip set, but until someone tests CM on one of those setups its almost impossible to say.
  22. Production would need to switch from wood to heavy steel if we hope to slow down their advance.
  23. Ok, too bad its not funny. Space Lobsters are rather interesting, and thankfully I got a good laugh from the jokes.
  24. Boot camp is old news, many Mac users with Intel Macs already have Windows XP loaded on their machines.
  25. It should run. Some fokes have run games like COD2 and Half Life 2 on their Intel Macs with bootcamp. You do need the Windows version of couse, but it means you can have your cake (OSX) and eat it (XP) too.
