1. Have something to do with his pirated copy? ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
2. Yeah, you're right. A 37mm gun. Thought it was, but wasn't sure, especially after it knocked out my Panther. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
3. First of all, what is the paint program that will do the best job? Second of all, I discovered the winter texture files are just the regular texture files with a "1" in front of the number. Thirdly, how do you know which textures belong to what vehicle and what textures are what? For example, looking at the new Marder II texture files, I see that a couple aren't in sequence with the rest of them. I ask this because I am interested in doing some of these. Seems like just doing a substitute with "white" in strategic places will create some good looking textures. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
4. Oh Dan Weaver, you mis-read my situation. There was nothing behind my Panther until the Stuart made a mad dash past my left flank. So in order to fix that, I did a "hunt" and "target" towards and on the Stuart and the tac-AI decided to continue firing at the infantry. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
5. First there was TTv2.0 that never made it for the Beta Demo, and now, we've gone to v3.0. So when are we gonna see these?? Love the new JgTiger texture. That one really needed some work. I think we've all been desperately waiting for the new "LightWave" sky and border mountain graphics. I think the natives are growing restless for these. Please finish and release what you've got so far in the near future. One note though....the turret textures on the TigerI are a bit too blurry and fuzzy. Is there anything you can do to clear those up? ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
6. OK, to avoid a spoiler, I won't mention the scenario name, so here goes it... Alright, in a particular scenario where there is a quite a bit of armor, I had a Panther up at the front lines trying to deliver some know-out blows to the last few remaining enemy armor. Well, this just so happened to be near alot of enemy infantry. What happened was this. A M5 Stuart was just down a slope out of immediate LOS and actually behind my Panther after the Stuart did a mad "fast" move. So here's where the tac-AI made a bad decision. During the planning phase I had the Panther do a "Hunt" toward the Stuart along with targeting the Stuart, however, from the previous action phase, the tac-AI was blasting away at the infantry with HE. Now as my Panther started to "Hunt" toward the Stuart, it never turned it's turret around to face the Stuart. It kept blasting away at the infantry. So what happened? Well the Stuart kept taking pop-shots at the Panther with its 57mm gun. The first two ricocheted or broke-up. The third got a rear-turret penetration hit, knocking out my Panther. Talk about a humiliating bad tac-AI decision. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
7.
quote:
Originally posted by Dragoon44: First: I discoverd this game only yesterday! F**KING A is it right on. I'll stop crying in my wheaties waiting for Sudden Strike to finally appear. Second: Kubelwagens are awesome for scouting.

I wouldn't even THINK about playing Sudden Strike. That kick went around on this forum when the SS demo came out and needless to say that the demo didn't last long on anybody's HD past the first few minutes of when riflemen can take out a King Tiger just based on hitpoints. I tried the demo way back and I thought the graphics had potential, but the gameplay was just totally stupid physics and stuff. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus

9. Hi all, been away from the board for a while. Why check the board when you already have the game, right? Anyway, I just surf around the fan sites every so often to check for new scenarios and mods. However, when IS the v1.03 patch due out? I saw that Fionn said that it will be released late next week, but that was a post from last weekend or so. And so will v1.01 PBEM games not be compatible with v1.03 games? EDIT: Whoops, so the "Red Devils in Arnhem" operation I'm currently engaged in with my buddy via PBEM will be destroyed by the v1.03 patch??? Oh well, I kicked his ass in the first 15 turn excursion. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 07-07-2000).]
10.
quote:
Originally posted by Cardinal Fang: Logitech mouse with 8.32 drivers (I don't know the date but they were the latest they had on their site)

That right there my be your culprit. There's been some compatibility problems with Logitech mice. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
11. Are you talking about the Allies' briefing or the Axis briefing? 'Cause if you're talking about the Allies briefing, then they are not accurate as to what really may happen. Or if you're talking about the Axis briefing, then are you sure you read it clearly. Or did you set the axis advantage up a bit at the start of the game. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
12. Yeah, I noticed this too. I've got your specs except a Celeron-433 and it gets slow once the battle gets going. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
13. I don't know, it should work. You have the latest drivers for your GEForce card? ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
14. What are your system specs? Maybe I can see something that could be wrong. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
15. Well fellas, did a few random map generations in the Editor to get a mountainous map and decided to do a "Hitler's Mansion" scenario. After a few tweaks to one of the hills by adding a road and tall stone bridge spanning a gully in the mountain, I think I've come up with a pretty good map. I'm in the process of adding and placing units. Using German mountain troops (Gebirgsjagers) as the defenders along with some support units. Again the map is NOT accurate to the area, but it should be adequate for a fun mountain scenario with a few surprises. I'll keep y'all posted till I get it done. Just been working on it for about 2 hours now. I'll probably let Manx post it on his site or whoever wants it too. I'm still working on my "neighborhood" scenario based on the 1.4 square kilometer around my neighborhood. I really need an aeriel photograph to see where all of the trees are. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 07-01-2000).]
16. Bump to top. Where are you Trey? ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
17. Well, I just played it with the Germans and pretty much wiped the Amis ass with my 81mm mortar spotter and fellow armor support. The two StuH42s came in handy when I drove them around on the right flank (the long way) and pounded the area to the left of the town. Made pretty quick work of the two Shermans once I got LOS to them. Hetzer took out one, while my Panther took out the other with a "catostrophic" explosion. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
18. I'd like it too. davem@shawneelink.net I always liked that scene anyway. Lots of artillery and some good fightin' all around. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
19. You know....it doesn't hurt to read the readme file that comes with things like that. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
20. I picked up Klingon Academy yesterday. You gotta have decent machine to play it though. It recomends a PII-450. I've got a Celeron-433 w/128MB, 32MB TNT2 Ultra, SBLive! and the thing still hangs and pauses during the missions when new sounds are brought in. With the SBLive! it shouldn't do that. I don't know what the problem is. The thing is that they've changed alot of the special effects graphics since the demos and my machine is having a hard time dealing with them now. Boy I wish I had at least a 600 MHz system. The game itself though has over 90+ minutes of live action footage. That's longer than some movies! It has a movie viewer utility so you can go through the 5 CDs and watch all of the movies without first getting to them within the storyline. Bit of a spoiler, but who cares? ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 06-28-2000).]
21. Thanx Charles. The 5000-10,000 point range really sounds feasible. Sorry been away from the board for a couple days. Been playing CM too much I guess. Also, there still seems to be a problem with the prefs file concerning FOW settings. It stays what I set it at, usually "Full" and then sometimes it shows up as "None". ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
22. "We are poor little lambs...we have lost our way....Bah..Bah..Bah." Oops, that the Black Sheep Squadron theme song. Wrong theater. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
23. OK, my turn! Sarcastic Mode: ON Hell, why doesn't every computer game manufacturer offer their games for free downloads?? Why not?? 'Cause people don't work for free! Try and download Diablo II for instance. What is it 3 CDs worth? Or Klingon Academy weighing in at 6 CDs. Sarcastic Mode: Off Just because BTS is a on-line only company doesn't mean they have to offer their programs for download. As for .pdf manuals or printed ones, I'd much rather have a printed one so I can read it anytime I want to and not have to carry around a stack of printer paper. I took mine with me on a trip to St. Louis this weekend and read a good portion of the gameplay section. I don't think a pile of paper would be very handy in a car. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
24. Well Ash, you may have to wait awhile. BTS sold out of their initial stock. I believe it'll be a week or so before they get another shipment back. Their inital sales were about 5 to 6 times the amount they had invisioned. They had what they thought would last two months but it sold out by this past weekend. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
25. Manx, you wanna wait for CM2 for that? Gee, I would think they'll implement that in a patch in the near future. ------------------ "I for one, am pretty damn close to Genius"--Ol' Blood & Maximus
