  1. Two items. 1. - strange, most games look better as they get closer to release? 2. - Och!
  2. Still no joy Did anyone get a email when their DVD shipped?
  3. I hope the new russian mission pack is more little more balanced(a few less T-34's), and reflect the early German blitz.
  4. This is no different than Matrix Games, they always have the download version first and the physical version a couple of weeks later. Look at it this way, by the time we get the game, hopefully the first patch will be ready.

  10. What difference? when you still lose the mission and have to start the mission over again. Sometimes it seems you win the battle but still lose the mission! The triggers for victory don't always match what really happened, like not being able to kill that last tank due to lack of ammo. The game could use a hall or heroes to note the actions of soldiers through out the campaing.

  12. The trick with this mission is to target and kill the PzIII first with the ATG's, put the ATG's at the back of the placement zone, hide your infantry then use the ATR's to kill the PzII's when they get close. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
  13. While waiting for my DVD copy, I'm trying to hack/mod the some of the demo missions. 1. Fixed Unit Sizes, it seems different unit types have a fixed number of units. Infantry units size is fixed to a maxium of 11, 10 soldiers, plus 1 leader (CORRECT YES/NO). 2. To add new a group to an army, is there any other file I need to mod besides the mission.xml? 3. Is there documentation avialable for the mission editor? 4.I heard/read rumors that a map editor will be released? (True/False). 5. Is the trigger.ini file created by the editor or just scripted by the mission designer? 6. Are units removed from the game (Medics, Level Bombers, etc.) available through the editor? Thanks

  15. Is the game really that short, that it can be completed in less than a week?
  16. This sounds good, but does not seem to address the inability of infantry to hide/take cover. It seems there is very little cover for infantry and are spotted a lttle to easy by tanks.
  17. I don't know about the flamethrows, I'm still playing with just the demo while I wait for my DVD copy.
  18. I don't disagree there are issues, with LOS and cover. In CM you would supress the enemy in the trenches with MG fire and mortars with smoke, to cover your advance. I'm just stating infantry seem so weak because there are so few of them compaired to CM. In CM a anti-tank team as two men, if one get's killed it still has the same firepower and can still fire, in TOW a anti-tank crew is one man if he is killed that's it. A two man team will last twice as long as a one man team. I think mortars and smoke would go a long way in TOW!.
  19. Double the number of men for crew based weapons, ANTI-tank weapons and LMGs. The reason infantry seems so weak, in CM when one guy in a two men anti-tank crew is killed the unit still has the same firepower, in TOW the unit and firepower are gone. Infantry will last longer and be more effecitive against tanks.
  20. I was suprise too about this, I would have expected to lose my tanks advancing them without infantry. Why does infantry seem so weak? Look at it this way 11 soldiers vs 3 tanks, the tanks are going to win. In the CM games, infantry is normally company size 30-40 men, plus anti-tank,and MG squads,in TOW an infantry unit is 10 men + leader. In CM the infantry leader unit is 3 or 4 men, in TOW is 1 guy with a pistol. In TOW an anti-tank unit is 1 guy with a ATR or Bazoka, in CM is two or three men. So in a typical CM battle 3 tanks vs. 1 infantry company you are going against 4X or 5X times as many men, weapons, and firepower the infantry normally win.
