  1. This is an interesting one. I want to take a screen shot. I hit ctrl-printscreen open paint paste and all I see (have captured) is what is behind the game i.e. this web page or my wall paper. Does not the ctrl-prtscn work in capturing a picture of the game?
  2. I'm playing a PBEM game and try as I may I can't find anything that tells me what turn it is. Am I missing something?

  5. Actualy that leads to a another question. I did setup the alternate key mapping and yes that does help allot. Is there a way to increase/decrease the speed in which the map scrolls when touching the edge. Right now scrolling takes off like a bat outta hell. I'm a little leery in changing model/texture quality or the vertical sync. I know there are keyboard and mouse key/wheel controls and perhaps it's just a matter of time before I get used to them but in the mean time if I could slow down the edge scrolling......

Would anyone be able to discuss these or lead me to a thread where they were all ready discussed? Thanks. 1) Why can't waypoints be adjusted in later turns? 2) Do split squads effect morale/fire power? 3) Command lines are gone now too? And thanks for your help.

Hello all, It's the end of the summer here and I've finally been able to start playing CMBN. I started the tutorials a couple of days ago and not having played CMSF am learning from scratch. I'd like to ask a few questions, I think I all ready know the answers to some but would like to hear what others say or lead me to threads where these were discussed. 1) Is there a way to tell what terrain a unit is in? i.e. Am I in the open ground on the edge of scattered woods or in the woods or am I behind a hedge or in it? 2) There used to be a LOS tool that showed what terrain you were looking at. Stone or wood house, open or brush, where the edge of trees started etc. No more?
  9. Hello all, It's the end of the summer here and I've finally been able to start playing CMBN. I started the tutorials a couple of days ago and not having played CMSF am learning from scratch. I'd like to ask a few questions, I think I all ready know the answers to some but would like to hear what others say or lead me to threads where these were discussed. Here goes: 1) The size of the units, can they be made larger? If not, why not and is it a possibility for future modules? (units are so small for my old man eyes) How about adjusting size color of bases? 2) Targeting lines. There does not seem to be any targeting lines. When the fighting gets furious how do you know who is shooting at whom? 3) When targeting a tank is there no more info on chances to hit or kill? And thanks for your help in any of these.......
  10. Thanks Myles. I'm sorry you have the same problem but I'm glad to hear that this is not a unique problem (misery loves company ) I will post any suggestions Battlefront comes up with. Thanks again for everyone's help.
  11. I agree if it's not broke don't fix it. I have a ticket in to the Battlefront helpdesk so I'll see what they have to say. It's kind of a show stopper for me at this point so if necessary I'll change vid cards, Thanks for the help Grim.
  12. It was a nice try but no, the run as Admin didn't work either. I think there's something diabolical going on here. Myles, give the Alt-S (turn on and off sound) a try and let me know if that works. I have this sneaky suspicion it's the 4850.
  13. Grim, how do I change the game to run as admin? I don't see that as one of the options. I did upgrade the drivers to 11.5. Before that the game would freeze when hitting the Alt-T. Now it just sits there (like a duck hit on the head as Lincoln once put it about a General not taking advantage of a situation). Mikey, the T key does back up the camera angle. so it's not that. In fact, I just played a turn in CMBB and all the hotkeys work fine including turning off and on the trees and sound. Got me guys, stuff makes me nuts.
  14. Yep, tried both Alt's. Even went out and bought a new keyboard. The Alt-T and S work fine with CM1 so it can't be that the machine doesn't recognize the key strokes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the demo several times. Could it be the ATI card. I've heard so many bad things. Things work fine on my brothers machine and he has the exact same HP desktop except he has an NVidia.
  15. Does anybody have any idea why I can't toggle the trees or the sound? I tried the rest of the "Alt-" hotkeys and they seem to work but when I do a Alt-T or an Alt-S nothing happens. (sigh) It's aways something on this machine. Running Win7 w/ ATI HD4850
  16. Mine keeps locking up when I use the alt function. I don't know if it was a matter of timing or the alt function though. It seems to happen about the same time in to the game. (Win7 - ATI card) On one of the lockups I did get an error saying the color scheme was changed and it wasn't compatible with windows aero
  17. Thanks for the response KR. I tried a search and can't seem to find a discussion thread why it is that way. So be it though. I guess with CM2 coming out in a few more days (weeks?) it all may be moot anyway.

  19. WineCape, Will the scenarios all be WeGo? Not being familiar with CMSF has the way PBEM been changed to allow for faster turn around i.e. two emails per minute instead of three? What email exchange rate would you expect from the RoW'ers? I understand there may be TCP/IP but without playback?
  20. How come at the end of an operation the score doesn't show points for flags taken, total casualties, etc?

  23. Would there be a delay of the start to let some of us who are not yet familiar with the CM2 engine to try and catch up?
  24. I did a search on this and came up with a thousand threads so please have patience if this was discussed before. Will we be able to use more than one monitor at a time? The idea of the tutorial caught my eye and thought it would be great if I could play the game on one monitor while scrolling through the pages of the manual on the other.
