  1. A little video I made of why I hate fighting in woods.
  2. I agree, the backgrounds feel like italy.
  3. These are the kind of words that keep modders going Don't forget to tell your favourite modders how much you like their work It's like fuel to us hehehe
  4. Funny thing is, BFC's sounds are probably the closes to reality out of all the soundmods
  5. Isn't that what they did in this video? I think they used the ditch lock feature tho.
  6. I'm sure it'll look great anyway
  7. If his mod works for you, go for it! I just did the lightweight mod using the original sounds to make sure there was an absolute minimal load on the computer, for those with old or low-powered computers.
  8. Cool, even tho it's not a perfect solution. Too bad you can't make it replace only a few (and actually work like it did)
  9. Iiiiish! Yeah, I see the problem
  10. What is with BFC and stretching textures on models??? Who's the main modeler at BFC? Maby you could colaborate with him and help make models use less stretched textures?
  11. Daum... kinda getting to me that every video uploaded here is using waclaws soundmod I'm gonna have to start uploading some videos of my own!
  12. Whoa! That's weird... Doesn't happen on my machine. What's your computer specs?
  13. Just a thought (and I hate asking more of you) but most of the picturs I see of studebaker trucks in russian service have slogans written on them (like many tanks do). Any chance you could add a few? Make our trucks look extra awesome (Or do trucks not work like tanks do and pick random textures if more than one is present?)
  14. You should try my lightweight mod. Made specifically for people who can't run the heavy soundmods.
  15. Hey Waclaw, you still have a PM (I had written two to you)
  16. Heh, that "tiny" gun on that beast alwasy looks so wierd... Like seeing a Tiger with a 50mm
  17. I just wish we could change the colour of the landmarks text... I really can't read a word on the maps any more... I just turn off landmars since all they do for me is to put red blobs everywhere...
  18. Meeh, I'm from the north... I prefer salt licorice
  19. Vanilla? Did you taste them? They sure look like rubber from here
  20. I think I speak for most modders here when I say that we do it mostly for ourselves. I certainly modded the sounds for my own pleasure, I only released my first mod because a friend of mine told me I should. And the only reason I keep releasing my soundmods is because I see that people download them. I usually tell people to pick and choose when it comes to sounds tho, since every person has different tastes.
  21. Oh and just to add to the discussion, in 1942 soviet figures indicate that 1.5 million PPSh-41's had been produced. That's already more than the total number of MP40's produced during the entire war. If you pair that up with how fast the germans advanced those early years and how much they captured, you can see that they got their hands on quite alot of SMG's that the troops seems to have been more than happy to use.
  22. Well, you are coming off as dismissive (as are many others). The game is not broken because of it... Just like I wouldn't have considered it broken if the G43 wasn't in... I'd certainly ask why it wasnt in, but I wouldn't consider the game broken. The reason it's important (more important than other captured weapons) is because it was used in such a large scale on the eastern front by the germans. If you look through pictures from the east front on the german side, you'll see some german with a PPSh-41 in at least every 10th picture (if not more). And it's not just for dressing, they were actually valued by the germans as sturdy and reliable weapons (which they rightfully respected). It's not that I think the germans would get SMG units armed entirely with PPSh-41's or anything of the sort. In fact I almost always play as the russians anyway, so it wouldn't help me if that happened. It is simply the fact that the weapon was very numerous and often used by the germans and yet it seems glossed over by BFC as in the only comment I have read from them was along the lines of "well it was probably more common in the earlier part of the war and I imagine it was used on the rear lines". And that sounds like nothing but pure speculation. As for why I am so obsessed with the topic, well I have Aspergers so that's just the way I am.
