Summary of Battlefront Game projects March 2011
Wildman replied to Sequoia's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
given that Steve and Charles "The Brain" both have/like MACs beyond all reason...I mean really an Apple?....<shudder>. I'm pretty sure they will attempt to support Apple for as long as it is economically viable. -
lobbying for ai triggers
Wildman replied to permanent666's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have some as well...they are extremely powerful, but extremely hard to implement correctly. Look at Steelbeats Pro....exclusive use of AI triggers, but you had to implement trigger areas...visibility counts... -
Bug reports - who, where to send them ?
Wildman replied to Baneman's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Do you have the save game for this or was it done in real time? If you have a save game please email to jonzac1993@yahoo.com and I'll take a look. -
Good Lord in all that is holy...a website about "Peng" and one that has a damn Join button? I had thought that slaving away at the beta I could someone leave all that is Peng, festering in its hideaway, safe and secure...but no, your in charge. Not only do you have a website....with a JOIN button like some desperate housewife book club, you leave my name off it. Now I realize I was squired by Croda, or was it Speedy, frankly both disgust me, but to leave me off the list. A QB, you pathetic, Mormon wives lover. Your choice of weapons to impale yourself upon. Gods, it will be good to finally lance the boil on the Muthua Beautiful Cesspool that is Joe.

Normandy seems to have struck a chord
Wildman replied to Johnny Canuck's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Ah....Space Lobsters of DOOM. I to yearn for the ability to squash alien bugs. There are several SF areas we could go to. Drake's "Slammers", Pournvilles Capt Falkenberg, 40K, you could even go with a "Battle for LA" theme. Heck with teh WW2 setting you could easily use Harry Turtledove's books the "WorldWar" series. Imagine fighting modern armor, artillery and aircraft with WW2 weapons...OUTSTANDING!! -
If you like the game, another option is to make your own video. We've had several that show people actually playing the game, but frankly the creative power of the people who just play the game and don't work on it astound me. I'm positive there is a video genius (or someone willing to work hard) who is reading this board who could build a movie usin the CMBN code that would rival any big game store. Battlefront can't do this, but heck, if you like the game and want others to like...why not do something like that on your own. Put it on YouTube...send it on Twitter...status on Facebook...send it to your local News Outlet (Ok maybe not that one). The point is, we the community are the best advertising ANY computer game can get...how often have you bought a game you probably wouldn't because your friend was all GA-GA about it?

What games are you playing to pass the time?
Wildman replied to Kurt Jäger's topic in General Discussion Forum
World of Tanks...a-historical shooting mindless -
Silent Hunter III --- manual torpedo targeting...
Wildman replied to noxnoctum's topic in General Discussion Forum
subsim has it all. Including a checklist for mapping the target, using the periscope and all. I've been bummed I can't get it to load on Vista due to the DRM loaded on the disk. -
CM:BN vs PC:O like Blur vs Oasis?
Wildman replied to Nicdain's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Please...all this talk about PC:O and CMBN when we all should recognize the newest, bestest, most awesomest WW2 tactical wargame on the market today WORLD OF TANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I remember Panzer Command as a Panzer Elite contempary not a Close Combat or CMBO game. Didn't you have control of a tank and tank platoon to drive around? -
Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy Video AAR
Wildman replied to tyrspawn's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Just the fact that you play Falcon 4.0 AND CMBN like me makes you the COOLEST!!! Nice to see another 4.0 fan. -
Ah, Mr. Spkr you have put on aires in your time in the Peng...nasty, smell like old socks aires, but nontheless. I remember when you were a SSN, thrashed you soundly I'm sure I did...even if i didn't CMBO was so long ago I can claim I did and Old Joe's website with all the information to the contrary is long gone. You were my victim, then...now...and always.
-
That "Steve" is a lawyer and not the real "Steve". Mr. Spkr is a slight, minor functionary of the Peng thread. Think, older, retarded, pirate instead of cool, handsome computer programmer.

IL-2: Cliffs of Dover gets a release date (aka SoW: BoB)
Wildman replied to noxnoctum's topic in General Discussion Forum
Sure looks pretty...but until it puts up over 200+ aircraft in a German bomber raid with 3 to 4 RAF squadrons intercepting....like Rowans (or WOV) Battle of Britian...I am not impressed. -

Off topic, yes...fun, yes. BoB has the same type of dynamic campaign that Falcon had. You determine what gets protected or not, which squadrons will do it, move squadrons in and out of the fight...etc. All that in addition to a great flight sim. Although IL-2 wins the multiplayer hands down...no contest. -

FM in BoB was top notch. The main difference is the difficulty in shooting down fighters due to said FM. Just surviving an intercept as RAF was amazing...especially if you didn't send them up in time and the Hurris and Spits are struggling to gain altitude while the JahgSaffels are slashing down in 109s.... Add in the fact that you CAN run the entire defence of Britian...or now play a single squadron and let the computer run that part..AMAZING. IL2 looked pretty...and if you got into a few of the moderated campaigns it was ok, but its single player SUCKED hard. -

Bah...Rowan's Battle of Britian or the BOBII by Wings of Victory is much better that IL2. All IL2 had over BOB was the better graphics for planes and the minor multiplayer....it could never put over 1000+ planes in the air like BoB did for Black Thursday. -
Future War in the 1970-'80s
Wildman replied to Michael Emrys's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
You know. Harry Turtledove has a series of books that explore this very question. Aliens land on earth in 1942 with roughly 2000 era technology...the Colonization series and a great read. -
Or there could be a good reason for including Women....they have to talk, meet and inspect AFGHAN women...and I"m sure its easier to have the villago cooperation when a woman questions/inspects a woman. I'll bet dollars to donuts its a simple as that.
-
Or its a UI thing they can't fix with the existing system and its getting reworked for NOrmandy....or you could be an ungratful wretch bound to find all that is bad in the world.
-
Guess the baddies didn't want to show the near constant overhead coverage and bomb dropping on their foreheads in that clip. Nice how ABC highlighted our 9 dead and did not mention the body count on the Al Queda (Taliban) side. The entire focus of the piece was how powerful they've become....oh well, one hopes they concentrate more it will make finding and killing them easier.

TrackIR5 & Triple Head 2 Go For Sale
Wildman replied to Lanzfeld's topic in General Discussion Forum
Please, you can fly a full Battle of Britian now with great models AND a full dynamic campaign....NOW. Battle of Britian: Wings of Victory....nothing like 500+ aircraft in the air in a simulation....something IL2 would never do.
