  1. Does that back order situation stand for the Mac Version as well?? Since there are two different versions is hard for me to believe the Mac version is now back ordered? -tom w P.S. personally I don't care I preordered my Mac version on the first available day of preorders. pre order # 80611 [ October 01, 2002, 08:41 AM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  2. You you Bastard! you beat me AGAIN! For those you don't know Chris got his CMBO copy a few days before me the last time we entered the Great Combat Mission Pre Order Delivery Race! -tom w
  3. I agree Some way to know "at a glance" (without hitting Return on EVERY unit) that a unit had passengers or not would be greatly appreciated -tom w
  4. is there a web page (and link) somewhere for that info?? thanks -tom w
  5. nothing in toronto yet for me Waiting like everyone else I could not beleive it when folks here were reporting deliveries in Bolton and Ottawa and Quebec early LAST WEEK! I thought for sure that was a GOOD sign. -tom w
  6. What is the max number of minutes in available in the CMBB scenario editor? 100? 120? (I don't have the game (yet) so I don't know  ) Would that same value (not the current 30 min) not also be a good suggestion for the Max time limit on a CMBB QB? ?? Any other comments/suggestions? -tom w
  7. NICE job! thats some GOOD lookin' rubble! -tom w
  8. After you have played a QB can you take the map (units and ALL) into the scenario editor and edit the units? Then you could save the QB map and new units and open it in a new QB? I'm asking because I don't have the game (yet  ) I and don't understand all the differences between CMBO and the new CMBB QB import map feature  Thanks -tom w
  9. that is a GOOD economical system: " go for the DP867 for just over a £1000 UK (check on the apple store if they do a build to order with the Nvidia to ATI graphics card) " BUT is that DP 867 one of those: Power Mac G4 Mirrored Drive Door systems??? "Using Mac OS 9 on Power Mac G4 Mirrored Drive Door systems" If so I would be concerned  -tom w
  10. Are you refering to the newly popular "opposite corner" start zone option/suggestion?? It could be a QB option maybe? -tom w
  11. that could be a MAJOR factor on this issue. Are there THAT many defective PC disks being shipped? Are there any defective Mac Disks shipping? I ordered mine on Saturday; September 07; 2002 at 11:02 AM Your Order Number is: 80611 BUT I have not received my Mac version yet here in southern Ont. grrr  I wonder if they are really sold out or just holding back shipping the defective PC disks? curious  -tom w [ September 29, 2002, 12:33 AM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  12. Tactically that sounds about right: "Yes, the MTC should really only be used for recon purposes. Only a few recon type units would be issued this order and only in the beginning stages in the battle, typically" if that is true then MtC is implemented in the game correctly and should only be used for recon in the early stages of the battle. That makes sense IMHO -tom w [ September 28, 2002, 11:17 AM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  13. giving AFV the cover arc Armour command PLUS a Move order should be a slower form of HUNT? No? With cover arc Armour ON while an AFV is assigned a MOVE command will it stop and engage? perhaps EVEN better....... What about SEEK Hull Down (MOVE) slower advance and Cover Arc Armour? Is that not the best method of AFV advance to engage opposing Armour targets? I don't have the game yet  grrr so I can only play with the demo which is fairly limited in good armour engagements -tom w [ September 28, 2002, 11:13 AM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  14. ooops wrong thead sorry [ September 27, 2002, 11:29 PM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  15. I have not got my copy yet I am looking forward to reading the manual, and in the event of a defective CD at least you can count on the analog technology (i.e. paper and ink) in the manual! -tom w
  16. just use move and a 5 meter cover arc inf. ??? isn't that the same thing, now as Sneak? If they are experienced they won't shoot past their 5 meter limit? -tom w [ September 27, 2002, 11:21 AM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]
  17. The cover arc is in the demo and you can "practice" there and see its effects. I think. -tom w
  18. bump are there amphibious vehicle units in this game that can cross rivers? still curious? -tom w
  19. for this one "1. A RECCE command that combines stealthy movement with a "no fire mode" unless you are caught at short range and no cover exists. This would allow you to move units that wouldn't fire at units they spotted" Why not use MTC Move to Contact with a 5 meter cover arc Inf the ful 180 degrees to the front of the units. the unit would then NOT fire and stop the when they first spot a threat? NO? Am I missing something here? -tom w
