  1. I couldnt find this one anywhere. How about infantry being aloud to shoot from vehicles? AT infantry as well? I would like to see that in the game.
  2. Only way to do that is to use the external camera.
  3. Unfortunately no. The same is true for the AA gun. Hopefully that can be changed in a FUTURE PATCH. *HINT HINT*
  4. I think I understand. When you press F7, the default view is binoculars. But you can change that to a plain panoramic view or NVG's by pressing Pge Up or Pge Down. And, granted, the hatches are not necesarily open while you are in that position. Although, you can open hatches so a hit from a HEAT round does not kill your crew. Thats another thing. If you do open the hatches and you use that external camera, there is no graphic of your TC with his head out or sitting upright. Saves CPU power. So yes, the F7 key is the TC view with the TC view "unbuttoned", technically. Does that help?
  5. I thought the TC view was an unbuttoned TC view, (even though the hatch is not opened). If you view normal view in the TC position (as opposed to binoculars) you can see the top of the tank. Do you mean to ask if you can open hatches? In which case, yes you can.
  6. I seem to recall some WW2 footage, in the Pacific I believe, where an airman is giving a passing aircraft on take off the ol' bird.
  7. It can't be, as you can move your viewpoint around after the 'crunching' has taken place. </font>
  8. Details, details. Wouldn't that be a part of the "crunching"? So it is already factored in while you are viewing the action. Right?
  9. Im with flamingknives. The sound that traveled at the speed of light bugged me. I would love to see the modeling of the speed of sound. Now I know immersion is not as big a part of this type of game, but when I first played the demo of CMBO and the artillery dropped, the screen shake from "concussion waves" made me like it that much more. I think speed of sound will add that again. Its always the little things like that, that get me.
  10. Well...they are going to have to model air that is high in moisture then...
  11. I think those are still a bit too grand. From what I can tell from Steve's fireside chats, I think it would more like something along the lines of Normandy, or Kursk, or Operation Market Garden.
  12. Change: 1)A move to contact "arc" Move to contact without worrying about stopping from contact with crews or inf too far away to worry about. 2)Relative spotting 3)Feel like Im apart of something bigger If that means a campaign engine, fine. I always liked the way "Close Combat 2: A Bridge too Far" attempted it. 4)Walking Artillery Barrage 5)Movie Play Back 6)And yes more cowbell, gotta have more cowbell Dont Change: 1)scale 2)WW2 setting 3)WEGO 4)Graphics and graphic representation are fine IMNSHO
  13. If I understand you correctly, you should not have to open the map screen, direct a unit, close the map then reopen the map to direct another unit. You should be able to direct units at the same time in different directions. However, some units are not attached to each other, while others are. Others are on preprogramed movements. I hope this helps. Matt
  14. Damnit Diesel...now I've found two more sites to spend countless hours reading about something that will absolutely get me nowhere, like Carbon nano tubes!
  15. Doesnt the Merkava have an autoloader? Or is that the Mk3 and higher? Personally I would rather have the human factor there. Great link Diesel. It reminds me of when I was in gunnery school back in my Navy days. They showed a video of th 5inch guns reloading system. There was also a live Mk26 missile launching system in our building they used to train sailors on (minus the live missiles, just trainers of course). You could watch the whole thing load and unload a 1500lb (708kg) missile in a matter of a few seconds. It was amazing and cool to watch. Not to change the subject...but man it was cool to watch.
  16. I was watching the History Channel last night and they were talking about the Gulf War back in 91'. They were talking the about the battle for 73 Easting. One of the Army Colonels being interviewed mentioned something how the M1 Abrams can be reloaded in 3 seconds (with a well practiced loader, Im sure). I remember reading about this and it got me thinking...how fast does the T72 in the game reload? So I popped in the game, went to the firing range and timed the reload. It seems to be around 9 seconds from the time I push the reload key to the time the green light comes on below the scope. Is this accurate? I know when I am waiting it seems like forever? What about other tanks? The Merkava Oren_M?
  17. If you bought the game from Battlefront.com then you would have the manual.
  18. I remember that discussion. Do a search with the subject heading "About the tankĀ“s "stickyness" and throwen tracks..." It is has been archived apparently.
  19. The key is to go nowhere near the villiage: You dont need to. The only way I could beat the mission is to leave the meeting point, but dont go very far, and sit and wait for the T34's to appear over the hill and then take them out. It takes a few minutes for them to show. I usually just sit on the road at a point where there is a hull down position and ambush the T-34's Then I turn around and drive away from the hill where the villiage is and head towards the other hill closest to where you started. The BIG hill. I work my to where the T-55's are or appear... slowly work my way towards them. You can take them out one at a time if you do it right. After you take out the T-55's, all you have to do is watch the road and the jeep will eventually appear and then you can gun him down. The End.
  20. oren_m, that is too cool! Thanks  Thanks SuomiKp! One question...do the FDF always go to the range in jeans and shirts untucked? Just kidding.
  21. And under 300m or so and beyond 2000m (I think) it goes back to 9980 which is bore site (battle site, what have you). That means the barrel goes back to level position. When a lot of dust and smoke are up then it is difficult to get an accurate ranging as well.
