  1. Ok...I finally have this image hosting thing figured out... oren_m what is that on the end of the barrel. It looks like bloomers with frills.
  2. Never underestimate the effectiveness of a well placed shovel! Is that a Mk1 or has it been upgraded? Oren_m, I stand corrected... a Galil it is then!
  3. Im assuming that is the main gun in the first picture. Im not talking about your HK rifle laying down in front of you there. Im not sure how to describe it, but it looks like there are some frilly material on the front part of the barrel. Looks like netting, maybe, for camoflauge? Not that you would need it in an urban environment with possible close combat. If anyone else has any pics please feel free to post them.
  4. Thanks for the pics! It is interesting to see pics from someone "who was there". What is that on the barrel of the main gun in the first pic? Is that the range finder in the bottom pic?
  5. You can use the mouse as well. You have to hold down the left mouse button to move everything, from the driver position to gunner position. The only position you DO NOT have to hold the left mouse button down is the TC position. However, I drive with the keyboard. If you drive too fast, the tank will bounce around causing the barrel of the gun to travel to its extremes and hit the bottom stop. Thus the sight will bounce around.
  6. Hi Oren, I was a Navy guy myself but I am interested in the memories of those who were tankers. Were you in any major battles? I did some quick reading on the Mk2 and it seems it was used in Lebanon. The Merkava looks like a very sleek tank as far as the turret is concerned. I've always wondered why more tank's turrets werent as sleek to defeat sabot rounds.
  7. You can remove the foliage in the configuration. I was frustrated by the same thing. I would much rather have the grass for the sake of authenticity but it didnt seem fair that they could see me but I could not see them. Obviously the computer does not recognize the grass as something that blocks line of sight. However, another benifit of removing grass is that it frees up processing power.
  8. ...AAAAND there is even a T-72 in the movie...albeit brief. (trying to stay on topic here) :-D
  9. When I first played the tutorial, the AI driver put me in the tank trench...BUT...it drove up partly on the front side of the trench so the front of the tank was too high to depress the barrel low enough to hit anything. I suggest you learn to drive. It is best to drive yourself and position yourself. The AI driver seems to have too many epileptic fits to drive effectively in a straight line and park the tank. If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse you can use that to zoom as well.
  10. Anyone see the movie "No Man's Land"? This spat reminds me of that... Go check it out if you havent. Its actually pretty good. Its about the fighting in Bosnia, the intense hatred there and how the UN is a charlie foxtrot.
  11. No they are not. You have to remember that 125mm cannons use 2 part ammo. The propellant charge for 125mm rounds is not 12.5cm in diameter, but 15,8cm. </font>
  12. I know its not going to happen anytime soon..buuut... bigger maps and more units (read, more targets). Something on the scale of M1 Tank Platoon, back in the day. AND, take that stupid "X" off the top right hand corner of the unistall screen after I pop my cd in the tray and autoplay runs it! I almost always want to automatically click on it. [ August 02, 2005, 05:49 PM: Message edited by: gunnersman ]
  13. Diesel, Thats not from a 120mm round is it? That looks way too big to be from a 120mm or 125mm round for that matter. That thing looks almost as big around as a trash can. I used to have a practice sabot round (dart and sabot) and your pic looks too big in relation to your keyboard, desk and books to be 120mm casing...or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
  14. Ah, thanks bartbert. I think that might be the problem.
  15. I did, that is why I said in the first post,"...I have a Compaq 500mhz computer 128m Ram that I have trouble RUNNING IT ON" Im sorry if I did not make myself clear. I did download the demo, I get an error saying that it is having trouble initializing. Although it works fine on my pc at home, which is a 1.8mhz 512ram pc using Win XP.
  16. Yea, yea, I know, it probably isnt much but I have a Compaq 500mhz computer 128m Ram that I have trouble running it on. Is that enough?
  17. HA! So it is in the manual. I must be going blind. I use global realism. The only thing I do not have to set to real is the external camera. Thanks SuomiKp!
  18. I've wondered about this myself. I have driven the tanks in this game like a rally car with no thrown tracks. However when I knocked over a highline poll I did throw a track. It was my understanding, from what I have heard, that it is relatively easy to throw a track on a tank by driving too hard or improperly. Also, on a similar note, how long does it actually take to repair a track? I have my settings on 120. Is that 120 seconds? What is realistic a realistic time frame as far as repairing the tracks on your tank?
  19. Yes, I did that. sorry I didnt make that more clear in the first post. I should explain what happens: When I click on the T-72 icon to play the game the "T72 Balkans on Fire" logo pops up on my program bar (or whatever you call it) at the bottom of the screen and a frame pops up on my desktop with the same logo but the window shows the desktop and not the opening video. I can only assume it is a video that is suppose to be playing. And nothing else happens. Nothing freezes. All I have to do is click the "X" and all is normal again. 20. Aaah works great. "Tanks" alot guys! HA! I kill me! *sigh*
  21. Moon, or anybody, what am I doing wrong. I checked and double checked. I put the files in the right spot...started the game, went to user missions and nothing is there that is until I clicked "all files" and then everything popped up. So I clicked on user1. When I did that the game turned off. Whats up with that? I must have more T-72 goodness.
  22. I have the full version of the game. I could not get it to run with video but I can get the game to run without video. What do I need to do to get the game to run with video? I have all of the latest drivers for my card. I have DX 9.0c, Div X I downloaded from the install. Everything. System specs: CPU AMD 1.5 oc'd to 2.5ghz RAM 512mb ATI X800 Pro 256ram card Creative labs audigy live! Is it because of my graphics card since the game was not tested with that particular one?
  23. Yep, same here as well. I just figured it was authenticity. Didnt bother me any.
