  1. Seeing how World War III is right around the corner, go ahead give us what you have.
  2. Are foxholes handled the same way since they are part of the map design or will they be hidden?
  3. I noticed in the AAR at Sim HQ that the trenches were in clear view the whole time and were not hidden until spotted by friendly units. Is this the way it is suppose to be? Is this realistic? Or does this simulate a some form of basic reconnaissance? Im used to playing CMBO/CMBB/CMAK and not seeing trenches from the start of the game(unless of course part of a trench or trench system was spotted after setup). It would take some of the fun (frustration?) out if I knew exactly where the enemy would be.
  4. What would the BFC posts be without such wonderful posts?! (That is rhetorical of course)
  5. My magic 8 ball says 'better not tell you now'. Sorry couldnt resist.
  6. I suspect, forests would be a challenge for the devs on the level of infantry being able to enter buildings. Unless they are small forests...whatever that is.
  7. This is the third or fourth person I recall comparing ToW to WW2Online. I dont see the comparison. You CANT make a comparison....ok, you can try...but you will fail miserably. Please dont. Besides, making that comparison will most certainly not get you on the beta team....if at all...I suspect. Have a nice day!
  8. Big bump. Beg your pardon Jim.

  10. Only effects from shots, explosions of hit and destruction </font>
  11. Nice, very nice. I was more amazed than amused.
  12. Maybe I am using the wrong term. In the pic below if you look at the shadow you can see the barrel's shadow as well. http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/screenshots/pages/Tiger%20Damaged.html In this pic if you look at the right fender, you can see the shadow fall on it. Where as the rest of the tank is still in the sun. http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/screenshots/pages/grab0031.html In this pic below, if you will notice, not all of the trees shadows are generic. They seem to fit the trees individual 'profile' (for lack of a better term). http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/screenshots/pages/ww2%202006-07-21%2019-34-57-25.html In the pic below, the Renault appears to light up from the shell impact. http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/screenshots/pages/ww2%202006-07-25%2020-07-31-57.html Im short on time, but there is a nice winter shot taken with snow on the ground and the sun is low in the sky. The trees shadows are long and clearly are as a result of the sun. Are these not some form of dynamic lighting?
  13. ToW looks great guys! I havent been this excited about a wargame since CMBO. The pics are beautiful. It looks like there will be dynamic lighting. If this is so, will the sun have a blinding effect on the in game units?
  14. I thought it rocked before I didnt think it rocked...
  15. Aaah, you beat me to it. I was waiting to get the chancce to put up a pic of it. At any rate...whats up with that? My guess its just a place holder until the polish it up.
  16. Are those Maracas? Did that monkey get a boob job? Or is he going fishing?
  17. I thought the Sherman was actually the first with gyrostabilization but it was disabled by the crew because it was difficult to load while on the move or some such reason.
  18. FPS? Shouldn't that be FPRT (First Person Rock Thrower)? JUST KIDDING! What I think is funny is the BBC's quote: "A bit like life really" Actually I think it would be interesting to play something like this and see the other side, even if it maybe a propaganda arcade game and I may disagree with it.
  19. Apparently it is part of something bigger... http://www.house.gov/hasc/openingstatementsandpressreleases/107thcongress/01-03-22petroff.html The part about through wall sensing is almost half the way down. Here is the company that makes the "Soldier Vision": http://www.radarvision.com/SoldierVision/sv.htm Here is the Parent company: http://www.timedomain.com/ PDF document of "Soldier Vision" from the Soldier Vision website. http://www.radarvision.com/files/pdf/cutsheet/SV_cutsheet_Aug04.pdf There is also a video you can watch of the Soldier Vision in use...well, its an advertisement. And no I am not in anyway affiliated with Soldier Vision or Timedomain....I just think this is frickn' COOL! Or in other words....much mo' bettah. This is like something from "Aliens 2". 20. I have read about this too. Tom Clancy mentioned a story in his book "Armored Cav: A Guided tour of an Armoured Cavalry Regiment". http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0425158365/ref=sib_rdr_dp/104-5345919-0409541?%5Fencoding=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&no=283155&st=books&n=283155 According to the story a T72 engaged a M1 during the first Gulf War. The T72 hit the M1 and did only superficial damage and took cover behind a berm. The M1 saw the heat signature and put a sabot round through the berm hitting the T72.
