  1. You cannot zoom in or out the commander. However, on the default settings, you can switch to binoculars, NVG and then panoramic view using "page up" and "page down".
  2. They are the embodiment of power. Straight forward. They are made to take hits and give hits. What red blooded macho man doesnt love them? For me it was the Tiger while playing "Close Combat 2: A Bridge too Far".
  3. Really? That's odd as HEAT rounds have(or should have) higher muzzle velocity than HE-Frags. They are also the most accurate rounds out of the three in terms of round-to-round mil dispersion. </font>
  4. Read pg 27 "Emergency firing" it tells you how to use the range marks. To keep things simple the rule of thumb I have been using is this: the AP (BPS) shots have a pretty flat trajectory so you dont have to compensate much. If you want to use your HE (OFS) rounds, us your MG (P) first to find the right trajectory. The MG's trajectory is not exactly like HE but it will get you in the area. HEAT (BKS) rounds? Well thats a tough one, they seem to have a even higher trajectory than the HE round. They are best used at close range. Hope this helps.
  5. The one with "p" in the abreviation is AP. The one with "h" in the abreviaiton is HE. The other 3 lettered abreviation with "b" in it is HEAT. The only two lettered abreviation is the only missile (ATGM) P is machine guns. How's that for association? Elegant...I know.
  6. Nice video. Took me a second to realize this was actually decently produced when you switched to map screen in the first part of the video and it slid up from the bottom and I complained to myself "hey! why doesnt my map do that!" hehe.
  7. I have had instances where I'll be driving in an open field and my driver will change directions all of sudden before proceeding on the original course, In a fashion reminiscient of the tanks in close combat.
  8. Yes, I am curious about this too. How much did Battlefront change besides words?
  9. It depends on the clock speed. The P4 can have a clock speed anywhere from 1.3ghz up to 3.8ghz. And that depends on if it is the basic P4 chip or if it supports hpyerthreading technology. http://www.intel.com/products/processor/pentium4/ which do you have? Oh, and RAM helps too.
  10. Yea, I get a few of those too where the shoot is at very high angles. It is the HEAT rounds that do that. I just assumed it was the natural trajectory of that particular round. Yea, I dont have any web hosting or else I would post a pic too. (I never took a screen shot either)
  11. oooooh, schorching east. Sounds good. I'll take it!
  12. Sick of WW2 games or not, you would have to admit that the T-72 platform would be great for other tank sims. The WW2 sim would be perfect. A Kursk campaign woud be awesome. Although I dont know if the engine could handle the number of armor. I wouldnt mind an Israeli "Six day war", Korean War, or some other possible cold war fictional scenario like the Fulda Gap either.
  13. I know its a bit soon, but this game is fun. This would be a great engine to build a WW2 Tank sim with. At least the physics model and the graphics engine would be. Any talk of that yet?
  14. I've noticed some odd vector angles. Some vector angles appear to be coming up from the ground? Usually they seem to be the AP shots. And they usually seem to be in the area of the wheels. Is that a ricochet off the road wheels?
  15. What does that mean? Does that mean of the three shots fired all three went clean through the target? It was the Super Sherman. And they still burn nicely.
  16. I have mixed feelings about the infantry. On the one hand they react when shot at by ducking or dropping to the deck. They are good at dealing with other infantry it seems. On the other hand, at times the RPG gunners seem a bit too accurate at longer ranges. Then again I've never shot one, so I dont know. The infantry do seem to run and run and run and never get tired either. Driving is easy. Just get in, hit "B", and go!
  17. There are 7 single missions, or scenarios. 1)Driving 2)Firing range 3)Ambush 4)Offensive 5)Revenge 6)meeting engagement 7)Escort
  18. I see you fell into the tank ditch too, in the training area. :-D
  19. Yes. The single missions I have played so far are open. There are many hills and trees but nothing too thick. There are enough to present obstacles and give the presentation of wooded areas and such. Engagements I have had so far seem to usually take place anywhere between 400 to 1200 meters (but can go farther). There is one single mission where a battle will be between 6 AFV against 8 AFV (not to give too much away). It's really fun! I have only played the single missions, of which there are 8 or so. I forget the exact number at the moment. It is fun shooting the ATGM's too. The more I learn, the more fun it is. I hope they make a WW2 armor sim with this engine. I hope this helps.
  20. Got mine today. Still learning. Steep learning curve indeed. However, Im impressed so far. My only gripe right now is the gunner position. You can't use the mouse to move the turret. You are forced to use the joystick or arrows. Arrows are out of the question. Joystick works good enough except for the fact when you pull back to raise the barrel (which would seem the natural thing to do, I would think) the opposite happens. And when you push forward on the joystick the barrel raises. I find this very annoying and have no desire to get used to it. Is there a way to reverse the up and down axis of the joystick? I use the logitech extreme 3D pro. I have fiddled with the logitech profiler but there does not seem to be a way to reverse the up and down axis to make this work. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Matt
