  1. Range and ammo load. Makes a big difference. Remarkably, you end up using them like you did for the organic British mortars in CM1, just a longer ranges.
  2. No idea. In case some aren't up to date CMSF WEGO is now implemented using the Blue bar - as in CM1. It's exactly the same...except PBEM games now have a movie each turn (hooray!). Plus you can play RT if you want. Good for smaller battles.
  3. Field Marshal Blücher - Location: Berlin
  4. AIUI it's at pixel level. Each round is tracked to impact. CBB.
  5. If you're an old CM player you may find it easier using different Hotkeys.
  6. I feel slimy just watching Peirs Morgan. I want to kick his smug, lying face off.
  7. My sister was going on about her. Amazing. Probably one of the best voices I've ever heard. You've got to wonder why she's waited so long. She looks like the Gruffalo and sings like an angel.
  8. He was married to Angelina Jolie. We, as far as I'm aware, were not. BBT > us.
  9. But that's the limited goals they set themselves. To create a power vacuum and make sure the Iraqi authorities filled it and to make sure it was seen as being on their terms. They couldn't fight everybody like the US - they didn't have the means. All they could do was try and be the major player in a complex situation.
  10. Given their resources and the strategic environment they had to operate in they did a very credible job. Heavily outnumbered and in a complex civil situation it looks like they chose achievable goals and attained them. Given more backing I'm sure they could have achieved more.
  11. I remember having a great game in CM1 where I could use the fog to flank an attacking German force - getting good angles on the sides of Panthers etc. Having that fog descend or lift would have a huge impact on tactics - like dawn now. Love to see it.
  12. Nothing that would be replaced by Citrix would have hardware requirements that are anywhere near taxing a normal desk/laptop. Office, some specialised but still low CPU usage apps - although one with RT SQL use - and browsers. Saw 2 vendors today - it's the thin client guys tomorrow. And yes, I'm aware of the irony thanks.
  13. Nope. I'm wondering what it brings myself. This presentation better be from a burning bush.
  14. Anyone had any dealings with this? Apparently I've got a meeting with their "consultants" tomorrow to talk about a new infrastructure. I've got an instinctive dislike of the idea of it but if anyone loves it then tell me why. Of course, I'd prefer horror stories but I'm trying to keep an open mind.
  15. I bought a microwave fireplace. I can have an evening in front of the fire in 6 minutes. © Steve Wright, 1980-sumfink.
  16. I get the impression, as it was reported by ESPN, that it was what he did for...umm...a living.
  17. Trident-za, if you're getting a bit mixed up with the controls see the sticky with my alternate keys in at the top of the forum.
  18. OK this may sound daft - my PC isn't loud enough. I've got the voulme control at 100%, my source at 100% etc but it's still quite quiet. *sigh* I mean...I work with the buggers. I built the damn thing. What am I forgetting? The headphones are OK etc.
  19. He took a risk and he died. A shame he died but at least he lived. Dum vivimus, vivamus.
  20. Do you like the demo? Want to play it again and again? Buy the game. Then worry about winning.
  21. Clever. The arrow slits in British castles have 2 horizontal crosses slits on them for much the same reason - in the heat of battle the archer would stand to get a shot of and see 2 slits, the slight "which to shoot for" decision is more likely to make him miss.
