Apocalypse 31 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I've been spoiled by CMSF. I have a WW2 itch and Close Combat and Blitzkrieg just arent doing it for me anymore. I need the level of detail that only CMSF can deliever. I would pre-order it right now. I hope that nothing will be changed with the mod-ability of sounds and textures. 0 Quote
Clavicula_Nox Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I don't expect the mod potential to change, they've been modable since CMBO. 0 Quote
Pvt. Ryan Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Steve* has authorized me to take pre-orders. Please send $35 to my PayPal account. *Steve, my next door neighbor. He is not affiliated with Battlefront. 0 Quote
MeatEtr Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Just got off the phone with Steve and Charles, they're planning a CM: Normandy Cowbell Edition. The package will come with a full life-size cowbell in it. It's gonna take the wargaming scene by storm. 0 Quote

Battlefront.com Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Heh... well, we don't open preorders until the game is pretty much ready to sell. Generally only production stuff is left to do. Preorders are also becoming a less important part of our business model since so many people opt for the download only option, which means there is no incentive to preorder for the majority of customers. Which makes the 1st week of sales proportionally more "interesting" Steve 0 Quote

Sergei Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Hell, I'd just give you Homo ferricus, with or without the bone. Michael Errm, would you keep Homo Ferricus if you were given a bone? Not that BFC negotiates with blackmailers. 0 Quote
Michael Emrys Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Errm, would you keep Homo Ferricus if you were given a bone? Am I permitted to shoot him? Michael 0 Quote
Homo ferricus Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I'm willing to give my life and freedom to Emrys in the event of potential bone-giving, just to help nudge things along. Of course, we all know what eventually happens to slave masters.... SPOILERS * * * * * * * The vast majority of them got rich, very very rich. While most slaves ended up dieing horrible deaths after being overworked, or killed in subsequent escape attempts. What was I talking about, again? 0 Quote

Wengart Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I'm with you Boris, I would most definitely take a hard copy over digital. At least for the base game that is. 0 Quote
Pvt. Ryan Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Well, if they continue to offer a pre-order window you can get both at a discount. 0 Quote
Battlefront.com Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 We've adjusted our production capabilities to ensure that we can continue to produce hard goods for those who want them, even if the number is relatively small. Therefore, those of you who are "oddballs" don't need to worry that you'll miss out on printed manuals/disks just because pretty much everybody else wants digital versions Steve 0 Quote
Sergei Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 What about those of us who want the board game version? Huh, huh? 0 Quote
c3k Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Being in the midst of totally reformatting one of my computers, I find that I value purchased disks even more than I did before. A copied digital key is fine...if you zapped copies onto other computers. A disk will always be there for you. 0 Quote
Sergei Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Backing stuff up on a DVD-RW is quickly done. And usually there's space for extra stuff - patches, mods, whatever you don't want to look up every time you have to re-install the thing. 0 Quote
c3k Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Very true. Time and motivation are the key... 0 Quote

All the back-up you will need for a few years or so. 0 Quote
