Stalins Organ
.....vote often....as an acquaintance of mine once advised me. We're having our own rather insignificant elections down here on Saturday - I got my vote in las weekend as i'll be travelling, but alas I don't think I'll get to vote often:cool: good luck to all yous 'merkins out there looking to select the leader of the free world - try to remember those of us you want to lead but who don't have the franchise.
MeatEtr
Sarah Palin Pranked By Radio Duo She didn't even take the hint after the imposter mentioned he loved her in the documentary called "Nailin Palin". Which isn't a doc but a new porn flick about the Governor. This is pure genius IMO. Edit: Lol, apparently the first sex scene is of her getting worked over by two russian tank crewmen.
GJK
Almost as funny as Biden throwing a hissy fit after someone finally asks the Dem ticket some hardball questions - and to then have the media cut-off for the rest of the campaign for doing such. Should be interesting to see how the media is controlled and manipulated in an Obama Presidency (ala "Fairness Doctrine"). But yes, register and vote often, ACORN is counting on it!

Runyan99
Is there an election coming up?
SgtMuhammed
I think I heard something about it a few weeks ago but they have been pretty quiet since then.

Actually, we were thinking of passing the lead off to New Zealand. Be careful who you vote for.
mike_the_wino
On a positive note. Today marks yet another, mostly peaceful, transfer of power from one individual to another. Throughout history these events involved the death of at least one person, that in power, but more often than not shed the blood of hundreds, if not thousands. So, despite any political leanings one way or the other, we should at least take a moment to acknowledge this wacky experiment of democracy.
Stalins Organ
I hear it's almost the worst sort of government possible and only the alternative is worse! New Zealand leading the free world? Now that'd be a giggle!!
SSgt Viljuri
Stalin's Organist would vote for Eugene V. Debs, if possible, wouldn't you? ;-) (Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the aftermath...)
Stalins Organ
:confused:Who is Eugene V. Debs??!! just had a look on wiki - bit late for him isn't it?! Get with the times Sarge - the war of independance has been over for a while now... bu whichever way it goes in 'merka......
Dogface
Yeah it is interesting how often Debs name has come up now. First US socialist Wiki hit I would bet. Hell that particular Socialist Party is not even around anymore. But if you like Debs then Brian Moore/Stewart Alexander is the the closest you can get as they are the Socialist Party USA/Liberty Union Party candidates.
Patrocles
Palin for President!
MeatEtr
Took us an hour and half to vote today mainly because the election workers are morons. The A-H line had two people working it, while the two I-Z lines only had two people and one of which didn't a have a laptop.

As a Finn, I would have preferred CPUSA's Gus Hall, but then again, that wasn't the "spin" I wanted to convey... What comes to the old times, heck, I would contemplate to vote for Pericles, if given a chance.
Spanish Bombs
Just voted in Elmhurst, IL - ironically the location where Eugene Debs spent his last days - which is in one of the most conservative counties in the country. No lines, was in and out in about 5 minutes.
SgtMuhammed
It's funny. The people here who voted early to escape the crowds ended up waiting for an hour or more in long lines. I voted today at rush hour and was in and out in about 5 minutes.
MeatEtr
Well, not that it's a shocker or anything, but it's official, Obama is the next president.
ironbar
Interested to see the margin he attains; CNN is calling it 333 to 155 at 1130pm EST.
GWDWD
I got in and out in less than an hour at my polling station near downtown Houston this morning. The wife canceled out my vote for the third presidential election in a row. Then I got to come home and listened to the wife and my dad (who is visiting from Ohio) argue about which was worse, committing perjury because of a blowjob or the Iraq war. Somebody please tell me election season is OVER!!
Elmar Bijlsma
Oh, there's still the blamegame, the lawsuits and White House keyboards missing the E,H,O and P keys. Oh, and here's the acceptance speech now. Congrats to the US-ians. I didn't think your nation was up to the task of electing a coloured man named Barack Hussein Obama. Now, let's see how he actually does. Try not to shoot him, would you?
Runyan99
I'd like to take credit now for predicting this outcome many months ago in the face of the "America isn't ready" crowd. I'd bump the thread for my own glorification but it was before the forum change-over.
MeatEtr
Now, let's see how he actually does. Try not to shoot him, would you? Just think, thanks to the McCain campaign, there are millions of Americans out there who are convinced there is a terrorist in the White House now. Not to mention the pea-brain white supremacists, KKK or whatever backwood morons out there freaking out thinking "Oh no they're taking over our country!". I think the question isn't "Will there be.." but "When will there be an assassination attempt?"
Stalins Organ
Yes sadly there's people who wlil believe that and worse - amazing really. But hey - that's the American Way - it's worked so far..... The next challenge - can you elect an atheist??
Runyan99
Probably not. Give us another 100 years.
