It is suspected that landings will be carried out in the area in the near future with the hope of securing the harbour facilities relativley intact.

Sorry to say this is all made with the current editor, so no it's not water.

YD - it's not tall grass, its marsh tiles. 3/4 Sunken lanes of gravel will be used to allow vehicles to "swim" ashore. It works but the limitations of the engine have to be taken into account.

John,

I had no problem. Maybe a codec missing? It's worth investigating. The fly-by movie is a beauty! ;)

Am also curious about the apparent "antigravity" design of some of the buildings in the last screenshot. Either that, or the pillars are too narrow to resolve!

It looks like Pete deleted some walls. With his keen eye and perfectionism he might end up adding a post light or somefink to take the place of a pillar on the corner.

I guess they are some kind of warehouse.

I'm always impressed how Pete can manage to take all the juice out of those buildings and flavour objects. He combines them to create completely new kinds of objects and buildings other than their original purpose.

Outstanding!

This would be a great map for some sort of night-time raid to destroy the harbour installations, like a modern version of the "St Nazaire" commando raid by the British in WWII.

Yeah but now surely you'd just drop a JDAM on the sucker

I'm sure some clever scenario designer could come up with a reason why a commando force had to be landed. Maybe they must laser-designate the target to minimize collateral damage.
