kohlenklau
Turn 2 and the Soviets are revving up their engines! The Soviets have made their moves and will assault into that rough terrain hex with the recon forces.... mjkerner
I'm heading out West next Friday, or else I'd love to command. And still will, if no one minds a week of no turns.
kohlenklau
Headin' out west to make your fortune? Gold in them thar hills!Sure, we can wait a week. So, when are you back and ready to play?
mjkerner
I can actually get started playing this week. Oldest son and I headed to the mountains of Colorado (yes, I'm certain there is gold out there for us!) on Friday the 25th, and I'll be back Saturday October 3rd; but probably not ready to get a turn out until the next day, Oct. 4th.
kohlenklau
I do NOT care what time you get home on the 3rd, I expect a turn that night! Sober or not! _____________________Just kidding! That is awesome. I want that future when I am a bit along in the years! Now: me 50, sons 19 and 15. Running timed miles the other night with the 15 year old. I am a motrin poster child tonight! You are an energetic 62 with a son in his what? 30's? And gorgeous Martha to await your return. I need that hot 2nd wife deal...anytime now please! Your probable opponent is Snols and he will just sit back and align his weapons systems....
kohlenklau
Turn 2 axis view with fog of war...the axis units shown are from the Panzer Battle. The editing in this is a tough process! mjkerner
Lol, at least you can still run! My oldest son is 41, my youngest son is 34. And yes, Martha is quite hot, if i do say so myself! So my payoff for nailing his recon force to the wall, is to get nailed myself, lol! Looks like fun...at least I'll be mobile and can (hopefully) conduct a fighting retreat. Make that a "running-like-crazy-as-fast-as-I-can-get-me-the-phuk-out-of-here-now!" retreat.
kohlenklau
That is so awesome Mark. I wish we could do a cool join up for beers and food down in these parts, maybe with Heinrich505 the lurker! That whole CM convention just went nowhere...I guess it is all down at the "fire team" level, just 2 or 3 or maybe 4 guys holding back the enemy!+++++++++++Yes, I will let Doug give you your specific orders but we can arrange a pull back time frame. I am open minded to the idea we do not just sit in a hex and get obliterated.
kohlenklau
The Soviet commander will be Marco2marzo. I will set up the battle and maybe you guys can get a few turns rolling before you go offline. I will do my SOP and set up a email for you 2 for advising when you stop playing turns and can restart.
kohlenklau
Your recon team has a Forward Observer and you have 4x105mm on call with about 50 rounds. The battle is only 15-20 minutes long and you may begin to exit after 0805 if you so desire but per your CO's orders... fabishdFGM
PhilI am a dumb donkey or some other word. I did not want the four units that were assaulting to move into the vacant hex. However I did not tell you so I get to make my first operational mistake and leave my flank open after creating a possible open Soviet flank. I was trying to protect the recon units and have some maneuver room for the counterattacking regiments. I blew it. FOW is painful. Was there any defensive fire from my advancing units against the southern Soviet units vic (3,7)? Was there any defensive fire from my recon units? Were there any casualties caused by any of this defensive fire? Edited September 21, 2015 by fabishdFGM

fabishdFGM
PhilWhat do my other units see in hexes (1,7) and (2,7)? I am trying to determine in any units vic (2,7) moved between 0600 and 0800. There is a possibility that two of the four new units could be units that moved from (2,7).Or am I stuck guessing what happened?
fabishdFGM
PhilIs the Luftwaffe flying at 0800 hours?Lol, at least you can still run! My oldest son is 41, my youngest son is 34. Just kidding!! 50 KIA Soviet soldiers. After the panzer battle, axis troops counted about 50 Soviet KIA, 6 destroyed T-34/76Here is a complete axis view as of 0800.
kohlenklau
Bad news: Mark's 105mm fire support is still being set-up and thus will arrive as a reinforcement (appear as available to the FO) SOMETIME after T=5.
mjkerner
Hi Doug, I was planning on staying in-hex just long enough to allow the FO to get the 105s raining down on any good targets of opportunity and then hightailing it out of Dodge (er, Dodghinsky), since my recon units will otherwise get pounded by his armor and then our flank is wide open. So, yes, I agree with pulling back to 4, 5 as soon after 0805 as possible.
