What is your favorite combat mission?

IMO sieges work as good as in Rome 1. I recently finished my first 500+ turn conquer-the-world-campaign as Rome and i havent experienced any problems with sieges so far (although i havent been on the receiving end too often, so possibly the AI has problems with attacking settlements that i havent encountered yet). Naval battles are as good as in the previous parts, just a bit more chaotic (wich is naturally, given the rarety of ranged weapons and the necessity of melee combat), but once one got used to it, command and control isnt a problem. Internal politics could be more detailed, but they are far from beeing useless as many often claim. Basically the internal politics in Rome 2 require you to spend money on them in order to delay the occurance of the civil war event and they allow you to buff some of your characters (in exchange for money). They only thing i miss in Rome 2 that was in Rome 1 is the family tree screen.

They just released patch 14-beta for Rome Total War 2. The initial feedback is sieges which has been broken since release is on its way to being fixed. The C4 like torches apparently are gone and the AI actually uses siege equipment and appears to have something of a brain.

The feedback is promising. They hired a new AI programmer recently. Not sure if they fired the old one, but looks like the new person knows what he's doing.

I still won't pre-order from SEGA after this fiasco, but I did reload RTW2 and will try it out.

I don't see a lot of love in this thread for CM:Afghanistan. Is there something in particular that makes Shock Force so great and Afghanistan less so?

I am also curious why it is that Normandy and, especially, Red Thunder get more votes that Fortress Italy. Is this just a matter of how interested people are in certain theatres/OOBs, or is there something more fundamental behind this preference?

I'll guess that it's because CMA is the one CM title many of us never bought.

CMA is cool, but material is limited. With CMSF you get a whole lot of NATO and enough variation on Syrian side.

My personal favorite is still CMFI and I couldn't really explain that yet. Surprising to me as I am mostly a NWE kinda guy.

When western allies versus Russia 1945 comes out that will be my new favorite :D

Still rocking ROME 1 with the Europa Barbarum mod. That mod is awesome. :)

I am amazed that I find myself enjoying CMSF more and more despite all the amazing mods etc being done for CMRT and the other games. CMSF has some amazing campaigns.

I also want to play more CMA. However, there were very few really good scenarios (let alone campaigns) for CMA.
