  1. Unit cost and a dislike of discipline. I quoted the Israeli experience once more imports from the US became available the M16 model became the weapon of choice. Personally I spent roughly 20 years handloading ammunition for personal use. Each firearm had its pet load, as a rule of thumb any rifle with factory loads is more accurate than the average shooter is capable off. Trust me my stuff was cleaned after every time I used it.
  2. I followed your directions Windows+G to call up and it worked. You can select Microsoft Edge or Steam for your recording. It could be to record the Game's Steam version. I have not ried to record a game ye
  3. Anyone has experience using PowerPoint for recording CM games? It has a record application embedded. For stills images Press Screen works fine thanks @Bil Hardenberger I paste it in the Affinity Photo App for further modification. Further advice for CM games recording is more than welcome.
  4. Yes, the problem was he couldn't use the MG. I recommend always to use Camera position 1 for an objective evaluation. I found out for example if you plot a light fire mission on the Sherman some crews don't use the .50 Cal and some others do. For a recon by fire the results may be disappointing for this reason. Thanks for your contribution and attention.
  5. It was the official service rifle in Israel, till the M16 variants became more available in increasing numbers. The American service rifle became more reliable over time and its superior accuracy over the AK 47's family made it a weapon of choice. For conscripts and militias, the AK 47, and its variants are attractive from a maintenance perspective. Is my understanding. Israël is also reserve based around a core of professionals.
  6. The manual which comes with the game has an encyclopedia with a silhouette of all the vehicles.
  7. There were two Dutch pubs there, but the owners couldn't stand each other. We go back more than twenty years now. Yes I drove from Jakarta to Bandung and Yogyakarta which is the cultural centre. I live in Asia usually for three months of the year Covid stopped us.
  8. Yes, I was in Bandung too. Jalan Braga and was doing a cultural awareness course. It has a more pleasant climate.
  9. Once again somebody calls the Stug III a tank. Even the Germans didn't call it a Panzerkampfwagen which is German for tank. The Crew of the Stug wore an artillery uniform. It was artillery on tracks. Stug is short for Sturmgeschütz (Assault Gun}. You have the right to call it a tank don't get me wrong. Some people call the Jackson a tank too.
  10. You better go to Camera position 1 and look what the vehicle is doing. Open means he is standing behind the .50 Cal with his heads up. The other possibility is he has no contact icon no contact icon means no LOS. I think you manually highlight a waypoint and plot a fire mission. The game doesn't always work that way. In the halftrack the driver spot an enemy it doesn't mean the gunner spotted it too. Page 40-42 in the game manual explains it, the game unlike other games does relative spotting. If you try to shoot a target just because you see a contact icon in a house doesn't mean the gunner in the halftrack sees it.
  11. Politically correct societies can't do anything without organizing a talkfest is the perception. I am afraid there is a ring of truth. In Indonesia I am called a Bule which is derogatory if you single out a person based on race in Europe. Over there it is completely acceptable. Nice people don't understand me wrong. The NATO joke comes from my Indonesian language teacher at the time.
  12. I like to see 'Puff The Magic Dragon Plane'. Hypothetically it could have been deployed in Europe. Douglas AC-47D Spooky aka "Puff, the Magic Dragon" - YouTube
  13. It was a joke going around South East Asia at the time. Sorry but that part of the world doesn't take NATO very seriously.
  14. They were young when I was young. Besides once upon a time I was the proud owner of a Lee Enfield .303 lighter jungle version. Now that was a rifle! I don't care or the FAL, M14 were better battle rifles it did the job I wanted it for. Oh Yes, the Galil in 7.62 NATO replaced the FAL in Israel because of reliability issues and was at the time an improvement. The 7.62 NATO and the 7.62x39 (AK 47) performs better in the shrub heavier projectiles have that characteristic. You gather I am not a huge fan of the 5.56 mm, I am fair I have never tried it against a feral pig. Now adays I photograph animals.
  15. NATO made the right decision according to its creed. No Action Talk Only.
  16. The T-80 main battle tank is a further development of the T-64, which had a number of significant drawbacks. It was also a more capable alternative to the T-72. The most significant features of the T-80 over the T-72 are its gas turbine engine and ability to fire anti-tank guided missiles (T-80B and later variants) in the same manner as ordinary rounds. 17. Up to the individual, rules vary from game to game. I respectfully disagree with the cover arc rule. Single soldier out of contact? For him it is Camera Position 1. They have binoculars? I assume they also have a map (Camera 1 and 5). Camera 2-3 depends on the location. We are finetuning because you need a playable game but overal it is fine. Units out of contact have a duty to report back. Camera positions according to your location within the area of operations. How it came into being? One day we called in an airstrike and decided we use Camera 4 only if we have aircover in the vicinity. Also it makes you occupy KT and put scouts on roofs etc. But it only applies if you play in my house on Hotseat.
  18. That rifle was a hard act to follow. The Fins and South Africans also made a copy of it. AK 47 on steroids as reliable and more accurate, 7.62 x 51 NATO more powerful. Don't forget the bottle opener.
  19. Israelis used their Uzi and the FN FAL. The FN FAL was replaced by their copy of the AK47 the Galil which was chambered for 7.62 x 51 mm NATO and later 5.56x45mm NATO
  20. You were recommended for editing and mod creations. Will follow your posts.

  21. I try it with .50 Cal, that thing has firepower. But people don't try to risk a halftrack or APC. A simple option of turret down but not too much down would be helpful. I once had an M8 Scout Car in just a sweet spot. It was too sweet and unrealistic nothing could spot it in the game. After 2 turns its position should have been obvious. Russian vehicles have often the Sagger ATGM System on top of their turret. In case of the BMP, you have to plot with the 73 mm smooth bore to get your hull down position. A gun which was designed for nearby targets which were too close for the Sagger.
  22. True and easy to solve that one. Click the unit and if he can hear the fire go for it if there is no terrain feature in between.
  23. We should have one step further down for the "Hull Down" and that's "AFV" just down. It would permit vehicles using some of their ordnance from a concealed position. A fine demonstration of the new Beta game if I may say so.
