  1. The Gun depression of the BMP, if we must plot Hull Down by using it's Gun I don't think it is fair. The ATGM's is the weapon for distance and the Gun for close by. The operator for the Sagger for example didn't have full control for the first 1 km. I imagine it will have more up to date ATGM's which work like the Milan or US TOW.
  2. Dumb, and more dump, playing Russia or Germany doesn't make you a Communist or National Socialist. But in a democracy, you have the right to be dumb. I would suggest make full use of that right. So far you do a stellar job.
  3. Use your snipers. Take the objectives in the last 10 minutes. The Unit is Limburgse Jagers (Light Infantry). Also, can be translated as Hunters.
  4. Here we play a short game 'De Hinderlaag' Reinforcing units just arrived and it is Klotzen und nicht Kleckern, as the Germans say. The Dutch Unit is 'De Limburgse Jagers'. We don't translate 'Jagers ' as Hunters but Light Infantry of Limburg Province. Role of the Sniper is spotting and if there is an opportunity, he can take it. It took this 'Sniper' 30 seconds to take out a crew with binoculars of the Syrian HMG. Snipers are attached to the HQ Unit.
  5. @Mastiff They can penetrate 430 mm of steel armor. I wouldn't like to be behind that engine block.
  6. @Lethaface it is in SF2 Germany on the March should be in the NATO module. You have Recon by guile, and you have Recon by force. Start with a Leaders Recon, it stops when the first contact icons are generated. I shoot and scoot most of time nobody is exposed at the end of the turn. Napoleon is reported to have said: I may have lost good men, but I never lost a minute.
  7. Read the scenario it requested early Intel and the Recon unit available was the German 4X4. The road is an LDA (Linear Danger Area) The reasoning if I were the enemy, I would use it to observe. I could shoot at the building whatever is in the building can shoot at me. The MG1 is not the worst weapon in a firefight. Shoot and Scoot, set waypoint to shoot till 2nd waypoint plot a reverse to death ground. 1 shoot order only. It is the KISS principle.
  8. World War II was triggered by the Polish corridor. Gdansk was called Dantzig since the Hansa League. Their claim must seen in the perspective of the 19th and 20th century. The British 'owned' Singapore and Hong Kong and the Dutch owned Batavia today's Jakarta. The 20th century was the century that Europe imploded, I see it as a completely wasted century. Hitler belonged in an asylum seen from hindsight. The man saw active service in the trenches was gassed and probably a lot more was damaged. Nowadays we call it PTSD.
  9. Same principle ideally uses more than one. Vehicle No 2 gives covering fire for vehicle no1 at suspected positions No3 covers No2. Speed is their defense I rarely lose a vehicle. In Battle for Normandy .50 Cal on Jeeps. On Fast through the streets With Jeeps and scout cars. Their job is recon, and they achieve it by shooting first. . In this scenario the area is dangerous for Marders as indeed there are Kornet type ATGM's on overwatch. 4x4 go fast with them it is their best defense. Try it with BMP-2s. I only suggested a technique and 4X4 are the best vehicle for the job. Their mission should take a minute.
  10. I suspect I am under surveillance by ATGM's and do a recon by fire on the house. Fast 4X4 Vehicles are the best for this. There *Spoiler* is a spy in that building (I didn't know that). No 15 second bursts he will change fire at every waypoint. By trial and error, I know the other guy is too slow to react. Scimitars are excellent for this. If there are ATGM's they often give their positions away. Start from cover and end up under cover. With continues fire. Your TechAI will do the right thing nice to watch the short bursts of fire.
  11. It is called 'common sense' in Dutch 'het gezonde verstand'.
  12. Yep 152 mm on the ground floor. T34 76 for the upper floor and the poor infantry clean the mess up.
  13. Talking about IED's. Some time ago I watched Star Media from Russia. They had an interesting scenario it was the Moscow Subway System. The Germans took Moscow and then all over the city were a lot of tremendous mysterious explosions. Plenty of European cities have subway systems it will keep the pyromaniacs among us happy.
  14. Yom Kippur War 1972. Who are these men carrying suitcases in the desert? The world soon knew and tank design went back to the drawing board.
  15. RTS vs WeGo I am biased the moment I notice RTS played on YT I look for something else. As a rule a clickfest with camera position 4 and ignore contact icons and the manual which explains relative spotting of the engine. If you enjoy it good luck to you. WeGo on Iron and I am not happy of the realism. Using Camera 3 and 4 need to be fought for. K-Buildings and or K-Terrain unlocks it. Favorite play Hotseat sit down and agree on the house rules. Hills and High Rise Buildings we agree on the Camera settings. Then the C2 Look at the structure of Scouting units, Armor, Artillery, Infantry and Engineers intel is not shared automatically, you have to agree for the sake of the integrity of the game as a military simulator. @Bil Hardenberger Wrote rules which go as a guideline how PBEM will be conducted in the future. We never get it all our way. OK you beat the AI regularly with major or even total victories. Don't forget the guy who gave you the entertainment practically plays one turn only. You can change your mind every minute. You beat the AI you just graduated from Kindergarden.
  16. You use an evasive technique code Romeo Lima Foxtrot. R*n L**e F**k.
  17. Provoke the enemy to attack your ATGM assets and use the armor from concealed positions to ambush them from the flank. I suspect at the end of the hunt move your ATGM's on top of the APC's will be followed by a reverse move. The armor has a natural approach route on the right to point 401. I see an FO did he call for Air support or artillery?
  18. Fair enough the game encourages customization. Look at the editor a very skillful individual sets up a game. Basically, he plays only one turn against you. For them, the game is the editor and that's where they stop. CM needs to improve on the online games. Large Scenarios are out they prefer small engagements and then you look at 30 days to complete one game. The other options are disable some security features to play through ports. We enjoy the large Master Maps with not too many units. You have room to move. Play 'Blue' and imagine having some nosy SBS or ABC journalist breathing down your neck. Include them in your parameters, dropping pamphlets warning the civilians you going to attack. Air Support? The UN needs to authorize Airstrikes. It is not as easy to win as Blue as you imagine. H2H games are easy you don't need to employ triggers up to the human player how units move. Just make an interesting map. No shortage in Australia use Google Earth and repaint with Russian and Arabic names or whatever you look at 8 km² at the most. Use Camera Position 4 conditional. Say when you have air support Position 3 for Highrise buildings. Just ideas to play with.
  19. If the former owners didn't call it a tank and the crew had to wear artillery uniforms, I rest my case. I admit I am not an expert on the S-Tank. But the manufacturer calls it an S-Tank and with guns you can shoot at tanks too.
  20. They were the Star in the Battle of the Bulge movie playing as King Tiger Tanks. The movie proudly advertised they consulted military experts.
  21. My opponent plays Red, and you don't know our house rules when we play on Hotseat. The AI mode is sandbox mode good to practice tactics. The editor of any game has only one turn against you, you're supposed to win. Against the AI read the script as they have been designed to give you a game. If you deviate from it you may not activate the triggers as intended. I done that in the past when I didn't know any better. Yes without opposition I could drive straight to my objective. Now they were boring games. Replay is a little better. Parameters up to your house rules. Losing an Abrams or Challenger can give Red a tactical Victory. Red can operate in a friendly Urban environment. C2 doesn't need to apply where everybody has a cell phone with a Facebook account. Camera settings according Key-Terrain. Red Occupies a High Rise Building he gets Camera Setting 4, I have to fight for it. The thing is to have fun.
  22. Always assume somebody is aiming at you at you and always assume you have been observed and adjust your tactics accordingly. I will post some screenshots of that principle.
  23. @IanL Thank you for taking the time addressing the issues. With fire arcs by out of contact units I just press 'Shift + K' to form a circle to hold fire outside their area. The way I play it is similar to @Bil Hardenberger rules. I just have different Camera protocols and fire arcs. Units out of contact are expected to find their way to a friendly HQ and at times I select them with Camera Position 1 only. Respect the integrity of the game as a military simulator.
  24. Are you sure you selected 'Armor'? If you click Infantry, the choice is much smaller. This is Battle for Normandy.
