  1. All for it but Mr Strawman butts in off topic at other people's posts. I am in an interracial marriage and frankly speaking how people use the English language leaves me cold. Some nationalities are more sympathetic than others if that is racism so be it.
  2. Australian POW's were very tasty and good eating according to Japanese soldiers who were made prisoner. This information can be found at the Australian war memorial museum in Canberra. You shout your wisdom of the rooftops civil people send each other a mail. You won't bother and in your case I won't bother either.
  3. Lost for words you decided to get off topic. Suggestion, send a private mail when somebody upsets you.
  4. There is still Solid-State Drives on which you can back-up all of your games. But who knows they may be on borrowed time too.
  5. I live half of my retirement in Asia over there I am a Bule. Only white people find the words racist as a rule Asians and Africans don't mind. Learn some languages and find out. The word slope was common usage during the 60's and 70's hardly anyone is using it now. Stay on topic Yank. The Indians invented that word, stands for Jan-Kees common names of the Dutch Settlers of what is now New York. But that word is not racist neither is when people abbreviate Japanese.
  6. I had my say and racism in any shape or form is against the law here. Good manners are when you send him a private post when somebody offends you. You however try to shout it from the rooftops. That is how it is done in Asia quietly on the golfcourse when they settle differences.
  7. Sorry, that is derogatory in American English only. I gave examples above.
  8. Here is where I live. Welcome to visit but because of Covid you can't we are Covid free. By the way my sister in law Reiko is Japanese too and she doesn't mind. Now return to topic and don't try to impose your local values and American English on the rest of us.
  9. They have and start using them but on a different target.
  10. Looks like a forum for geriatrics I am 71 and retired also. Good thing we live here a pre-covid way of life. We just can't board an airplane. But a large battle of CM takes me a few days. It is almost like work.
  11. Thank you I am interested but there are only so many games I can play.
  12. They go for $125000 a pop? Who cares? His commanding officer doesn't need to write the letter to somebody's mom. Sorry mam the $125000 Javelin was more valuable than your son's life. It really goes down well at the 6 O'Clock news.
  13. Leave it to the Units saves you a lot of time. Scouts in my mom and dad's language are padvinders or pathfinders, use them as such sometimes. Ok vehicles can't cross that spot in the meantime infantry is infiltrating. This fording place was not landmarked.
  14. It was the purpose of the .50 Cal. David Fletcher of 'The Tank Museum Bovington' said the following: "A British tanker buttoned up and waited, on the other hand an American tanker tried to shoot the plane down. But that was typical."
  15. I know what you mean, sometimes I must motivate myself to finish a scenario. See four turns as a little game and the next day difficult to remember what I planned to do. Need a spreadsheet to formulate an attack. It is the micro-management what is the hurdle for beginners. I use the units themselves and rely on the TacAI to execute orders.
  16. Poms, Dings, Slopes, Square heads, Yanks, Canucks that's what I would call you last year. This year it is British, Italians, Asian, Germans, Americans, and Canadians. What people call me is none of my business. Welcome to the politically correct world, some words are acceptable in some versions of English and unacceptable in others. I won't write here what they call Japanese People in an Australian RSL Club. After all the WW2 Veterans are now Centenarians leave the old guys in peace.
  17. It takes some fiddling, but I really work on my HMG tactics, to use cover in the most effective way. Without at least a sound contact icon on the position, you're wasting ammunition. The MG42 was effective the Panthers were suppressing at best. One of them lost the use of the main gun, Keep a log on a spreadsheet as a suggestion
  18. Javelins are very effective against enemy ATGM's. I always give them a short arc to observe first.
  19. What I have picked up by playing SF2. Ground attack aircraft can spot AFV's independently but not infantry. Time your air units with operations on the ground. Backed up my scimitars with Apache Gunships which made a very effective recon. During an attack, helicopters take out enemy units inside buildings if engaged. Keep your units well outside the area you have nominated for your air-units. World War 2 I think we should have less control on company level and time it inside the first 15 minutes of a game. We can always make our own adaptions of the game at home.
  20. Aircraft in the WW2 setting are no longer controlled by Spotters. Available WW2 Air Support will now prowl the battlefield independently, without the player being able to command them.  That was written on page 76.
  21. Just had a look on YT it looks very impressive. Is the smallest unit a battalion?
  22. Depends on who he is. The tank commander has the map and the binoculars. Your passenger needs to be a squad leader at least. A veteran with morale on OK. The BMP needs to be unbuttoned?
  23. CM Engine Manual v4 page 78 onwards explains it all. Easy way to see what happens is play against yourself on Hotseat on the easiest setting. Just select a game you already played to avoid spoilers.
  24. 8 minutes on the TRP which gives you about 50 meters leeway and 15 minutes without TRP. Naturally, you can always reedit the game. I think it is intentional, things like this can happen. Temporarily AWOL.
  25. It appears to be an oversight, but you have TRP's which is about as good or even better. It is crucial where you put them.
