  1. Know where I can get an RC Zippo? It's at 7:40. A more convincing flamethrower than most Hollywood movies.
  2. Good to know. What are the criteria for HQs getting the wire? Do they have to be in a specific place, or do they just come with it? I recently re-installed Red Thunder, and am doing the training campaign. I have not seen any radios on company level, yet -- or smoke grenades. So, I was mistaken regarding that. I was surprised to find that all vehicles, that I used throughout the campaign, have radios. Even two flimsy BA-64 scout cars, with 2 crew each, had radios. I guess I will need to take advantage of that if I play as the Soviets.
  3. I can only imagine debugging ALL the CM games, at once:
  4. Geriatric or not, they seem to be putting in work in some tough conditions. Fantastic vehicles -- love that camo!
  5. I remember when, in CM:FI, the Italians tried attacking my Shermans with these museum pieces (or at least, close cousins of these museum pieces). Truly a Watershed moment for AFV design, though. Every country tried to make their own FT in the interwar.
  6. I am guessing there will be no Hungarians in this one and it doesn't stretch to the Prague offensive?
  7. Aye, I must have gotten confused with all this "1 up"ing. I think I had Red Guards with radios at Company level. This was a while back, may have been patched out. I know CM doesn't do wire. From WW2 photos, it seems the soviets heavily relied on field telephones.
  8. 100kg? Those bloody things weigh more than me! How do they ship this? Has anyone here bought one? Yeah, after a closer look the Torro is quite superior to the HL. I tried to get a Torro instead, I couldn't find shipping options that would reliably get it prior to my bro's birthday. In regards to the SG-122?
  9. Lend leases yay! Valentines are a fave. And it looks like winter is coming to the eastern front. I thought I was less excited for the RT module, in comparison to CMSF 2 and R2V. Now, I am not sure. Will the Volkssturm look different from rank and file troops, in terms of age and build?
  10. Hey, if the SAA gets super T-72s with Italian Thermals, Relikt and highest grade APFSDS prior to 2014 -- I do not see why uniform uniforms are out of the question! OH, btw. SAA kit looks much improved, graphically.
  11. Oooh, a sexton and a sherman 'roo. I wonder if there'll be a ram one... Also, word is lend lease valentines are coming to the Red Army. Will Commonwealth troops also get it in Italy?
  12. I haven't built or painted a miniature since high school, for precisely that reason. Model making, and by extension, table top, take a considerable amount of time and effort. Computer sims are simply more convenient. Even though, there is something missing from the experience: spending days painting and building armies and having your friends instantly butcher them in the first turn. "This rule, on this page, tells me that I can shoot your heavy tank with my revolver and take it out." "OK, Fine. I got two more heavy tanks." "I get three shots per turn with this revolver, it's a super revolver!" I just bought this one for my kid brother. Would that I could spend 4k pounds sterling on an RC tank. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about fully steel tanks. They're heavy. You'd need car batteries to run those bloody things for more than a nanosecond. I can build my own for probably less than 10 times that amount. I've made a crappy robot (about the size of a 1/16th tank) from thin, light, cheap aluminum. That thing was bloody durable and could move around on cheap dollar store motors. It had wheels -- tracks are more difficult to pull off. I kinda want a Torro now, their tanks look good: Does anyone have low-end IS/JS-2s? Also, completely off topic, why do some people call it the IS-2 and others the JS-2?
  13. A general rule of thumb for Red Army is that everything is moved up 1 level in hierarchy. For the Allies or Germans you mostly get radios at platoon -- for Red Army, you get them at company. If you have a job that you would intend for a platoon, in other armies, it's a job for a company. Job for a company -- that's a job for a battalion. Same applies for armoured units. This works like a charm during breakthroughs. Concentrating your forces has never been easier. This being said, I also tried Red Guards for a quick battle. I remember that they were more suited to traditional Allied or German tactics, more than the Red Army. This was a few years back, but I do recall some may have had smokes and radios at platoon level.
  14. Thanks for the update. I greatly appreciate the honesty. Very refreshing before E3. As an engineer, "deceivingly simple in concept, but very difficult in execution" is only too familiar. I sympathize, fully.
  15. I've read that you guys changed quite a bit, and I'm playing the UK campaign in CMSF1. Is the new upgrade saved game compatible? I am grabbing the Big Bundle on day 1, regardless. Can't wait to see those beautiful multi-coloured tracers flying around and seeing where the bloody hell my tank was hit. Guys shooting around corners would certainly help in urban battles.
  16. I am glad to see this worthless bundle of bits and bytes gone from a store. They really need to get rid of all this nonsense that looks like it was made by a dilapidated hamster in the 1920s. You look at the new releases and all you see is minecraft clones, RPG maker games and anime dating sims. This being said, I am skeptical that this, even with the aid of dope, can inspire someone to go out and murder people. Not to sound insensitive (one of these crazies drove through a bunch of people here, not that long ago), but you can't blame genetic deficiencies, the lack of upbringing and culture on a shovelware game on Steam. This is a sensitive topic, and generally not a good one for this forum -- so I'm just going to stop there.
  17. Yep, I remember these things showing up in Steel Panthers. However, the one in Erwin's video has the 122 instead of the 76 (around 3:38 in the vid). Google tells me it's an SG-122. It also tells me THIS is an SG-122: I got his Heng Long on amazon, free shipping and arrived in 2 business days. I looked for Torros... but I couldn't find any that: a. shipped here, b. shipped here for a reasonable price, c. shipped here in a reasonable time. Also looked at Tamiya, an old favourite, but their RC kits cost a fortune.
  18. I think the CM2 formula would work well for a Warhammer 40k game. Provided melee mechanics are added. I can imagine extra-terrestrial maps would be fun for mappers. Would be much more true to tabletop than the new Dawn of War game.
  19. I want T-72s for Ukraine, T-80s for RF and, most importantly of all: THIS!
  20. I think the objective flags are a great idea. I often disagree with the game regarding who controls which point -- in AAR. It would be nice to have optional feedback. Aircraft models would be a dream come true. Not sure I agree with the artillery bit. I have taken out T-90s with precision strikes. The air-burst munitions will turn infantry into mince-meat. I will say that I find conventional artillery more effective in the WW2 era -- where it absolutely wrecks everything. I do find the casualty system confusing at times. I usually count any wounded crew as dead, idk what happens to them past yellow. It's be cool to haves specialized medics in certain squads that can take care of anyone who is hurt. Maybe able to drag wounded crew from damaged/destroyed vehicles?
  21. I highly recommend CM:FI if you liked CM:BN. Word is that they're gonna get Free French in the next DLC.
  22. LOL! We need this for every thread. Maybe even Star Wars ones. *pushes glasses up* Those are Uruk-hai, not orcs. Also, I call these dudes:
  23. Javelins are already in the game, I wouldn't count it as "new content" -- unless they add new Ukranian "lend lease" formations. It always seemed strange to me that the USMC and VDV (VMF too) are nowhere to be seen in Black Sea. Which is strange, considering these branches have higher strategic mobility.
