Turn extension was a big plus for me this round, i'm not sure if im in the same time zone for any of my opponents maybe bar one and you will always have days you can't get a turn played for each player so a few extra days to get to the end of the battle was much appreciated.

I fully agree. 30 days for actually 60 turns (it's always mirror matches!) is pretty tight, especially when you have a job (I mean in contrast to many here who are already retired), are not available e.g. over the weekend and/or your opponent lives in a different time zone.

This is a known glitch. When a game ends, the scores are identical for like one turn and then return to normal.

On my first turn i lost a BTR and the burning wreck was hit 5 seconds later by a TOW, a nearby passing BTR was so scared by the loud flash and bang that it sneezed and blew its own ammo rack up killing everyone on board.

Thank you for the kind words. Your words have rejuvenated my desire to proceed with this. Things have taken an interesting turn in this game, as I have picked up a partner to share the load with me. Naturally with that the pace has slowed down, but we have also ran into some small quirky dropbox issues. I will update this soon, but not before this weekend.

    My plan:
So this is where I can really enjoy myself now that the stage is set and preliminary stuff is out of the way.
The left side of my spawn is all commercial property. There isn't a lot of cover, it's mostly open. There are some tall buildings which could make for good observation hides, but with the thick haze looming over the city, it wouldn't make sense. They are too far away. I expect to find the largest concentrations of my enemy around the bridgeheads, so this serves me little use.

Instead of leaving this side of the map completely undefended, I opt to send my 89th Panzer Pioneers into the complex. To do so, they will have to blow a wall. Their plan is to search the buildings, then slowly proceed to the bridges. The Panzer platoon from II/Pz.Rgt.31 will remain on call to support the pioneers if needed, since they lack any sort of heavy firepower aside from plentiful MG's. They should be fine, since our attack generally carries the element of surprise. Light infantry is all that we expect to face for the first few hundred meters.

The right side of our starting position is where we will send the main attack. 1st Company Panzergrenadiers will penetrate into the thick suburbs and attempt to push their way to the river. In doing so, they will capture the Tall Suburbs. From here I will generally be able to look over the river into my enemy's positions. Considering the height, the suburbs would be a suitable location to move my forward observers, higher HQ's, and fire support elements. Though the height difference is marginal, windows from second story homes prove as capable observation hideouts.

(View from the High Suburbs to the Soviet positions on the other side of the river)
The plan to secure these High Suburbs is threefold. Blue, Teal, and finally Green.
1st Company Panzergrenadiers will initiate Blue from our jumping off position (Spawn). They will carefully enter suburbs from the low hedges. A small base of fire will sit themselves there as the rest of the platoons initiate Blue.
Teal will be our first real fighting position. I plan to send one platoon into teal, which will provide the beginning framework for my advance through the High Suburbs.
After Teal is secure, the buildings are tall enough to provide covering fire most of the way to position Green. A second platoon will advance to Green.
My third platoon will be held reserved, with not much for them to do here. I don't want to cluster my men up too much for the both their and the game's sake.

I will come to find out sending mechanized troops through an environment like this is very restricting.

with all due respect to my friend Aragorn (et al), I don't agree this is somehow the fault of the west from a military perspective.  No majority in any country in the west was ready to go to war over Ossetia or Crimea.  The only thing we could've done was sanctions.  And now Putin is warning us that he has nukes if we interfere.
The choice for the west was get into WW3 or not over Putin's previous agressions.  So exactly what was the west supposed to do other than sanctions?
Wokeness?  Really?  are we really talking about this absurd strawman when a megalomaniac is invading other countries?  This is all about Putin.

you want change, then spend the effort to make change happen.
But of course, lets try to make someone else do the work that you cannot appear to do or want to do yourself.
And AM I attacking your character, you better believe it. I can do it as easy as you can.

What, you do not like it when its against you, instead of you against someone else.

So go ahead and take another shot, I have lowered myself to your same level, so I am no better than you and maybe I am making some out there hate my guts also. But you know, I was bored, and all this done was show you cannot handle it any better than anyone else when the target is you. Imagine that.
But it will not likely make you think for a second on how you should address things in the future when it comes to trying to have a productive discussion on how to possible improve the game.

It may be an interesting document indeed, but the part that you cited didn't contain anything about optics. I asked you about this but you didn't reply (yet).

The issue some people may have with your posts is that you are aggressive in tone claiming that CMx2 is very biased towards US and that everyone who says anything else is blind/biased etc. You make broad sweeping statements but don't follow up when the actual bolts and pieces are discussed.
This is sometimes called 'seagull management'; as in someone (in the example a manager) comes flying in, makes a lot of noise and **** on everything than flies away.
When you get pushback (which is to be expected when utilizing the form and tone of communication you favor), you start acting like a victim and cry about ad hominems on your person and than project your own discussion style onto others.
To get back to the point (although slightly OT): in game m60 is perceived to have better spotting and targeting capabilities compared to T-62. Do you assert that is wrong? If so, on what base?
Simply shouting that T-62 is blind because m60 can see it while T-62 can't see m60 isn't proving anything. Posting an interesting document about how some researchers who have written stuff in the past might have come to wrong conclusions also doesn't proof anything to anyone.
Most people on this forums understand that, but you seem to believe you have excellent scientific empirically valid dissertation about why CMx2 has stuff wrong.
Which you haven't. Basically you make a lot of noise, but often not much else.

Suzuya got a reaction from Holien in CM Cold War - Beta AAR - NO The_Capt or Bil
As Holien said Bill's explanation hits the nail on the head, hull down keyholed armour has a major spotting advantage.
Worth mentioning the terrain is quite strongly in favour of Bill for the nature of this armoured engagement. The Capt's Armour is hemmed into his side of the map by the forest, all the trees and foliage will be heavily limiting the amount of firing angles and positions he has available and spots within the forest will likely have poor firing angles so to engage Bills armour he is being drawn to the edge of the treeline where his tanks face a punishing 30 second crawl back to cover if they are spotted whereas Bill has the choice of the larder, if his tanks are spotted he can pull back into defilade at will and reposition to a new hull down spot.
I'm not the biggest fan of how the T64's were used here but the fact The Capt was expecting better tanks than T62's as his reinforcements goes a way to explaining that, if he had a Company of T64A's as reinforcements the losses on the field would be far less important. As it is most of his best armour has been whittled away in a gun duel that favoured Bill from the offset.

It’s been quite a while since I've been subscribed to SB but different thermal sights do have multiple magnifications, colours and resolutions how accurate those are to RL though i can't say. One of my friends fairly recently found his licence Codemeter in a drawer after misplacing it. I can ask if he doesn't mind taking a few screenshots of different tanks to showcase some comparisons.
Theres also a few youtube videos up that give a decent idea of some of the differences sadly not helped by the video compression.

Suzuya reacted to UselessTalent in Possible pathfinding issue?
    Hey,
I'm currently playing a coop game with a friend by sending turns to each other in the planning phase and watching the replays and came across an interesting issue.

So the campaign we are doing is For King and Country (mission 2 if it's of any matter) and we stumbled across an issue with 2 units struggling with pathfinding. Since pictures say more than words:

The teams in question are the fireteam next to the HQ unit in the corner of the bocage (let them be known as first team for this post) and the section that has already had 3 men ran up to their waypoint (going by the glorious name of second team in this post).
So the two (then full sections) walked up to that corner of the bocage. At this point no teams have been split from either of the sections. They keep moving and from the first team, 2 fireteams walk up fine but one stays at the corner and same with the second team: one fireteam walks up perfectly fine but the other two are stuck. (We tried splitting the teams to see if that did anything, hence the lone fireteam).
If you give them a movement order on the other side of the bocage, they just don't do anything. The way we got it to work was to tell both units to move back from the bocage (the second team being split into individual fireteams at this point) to the road and go around to the openings and then go on the other side. Also another interesting thing is that if you tell the second team to move back 1 AS as a full section and then link up with the team up front they walk back to the road and as the two teams reach the waypoint they move onto the next one and then that counts as done as soon as the 3 man team up front reach that.
Other interesting note is that if you move the teams back 1 AS to the road and tell them to walk straight up to the team next to the shermans, they walk up to the bocage and stop.

Seems to be an issue with the pathfinding on that particular corner of the bocage.

Save file for anyone interested: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hbazpocug60474d/For%20King%20and%20Country%20COOP%202%20-%20007%20%C2%BD.bts?dl=0
Unfortunately we kind of woke up to this issue a tad late and only have the replay saves left from the previous turns.

I would be wary of those Panzerfaust 3s on the German dismounts Bill, being unguided means their range is limited but they can disable even MBTs frontally and should not be underestimated.
