This applies to all the modern tiles in general. Spotting is faster and anything that gets spotted dies fastest. Tank and vehicle combat is in big part one shot = one kill. Fire support comes in fast. Infantry moves on wheels/tracks and if you don't move them around they are going to die.

In Finnish army in certain situations mechanized infantry will dismount the IFVs and ride on top of the tanks. This happens when there is very high likelihood of enemy contact and need for immediate infantry cover for the tanks. (for example very thickly forested area with a small road, expected enemy too much to handle for IFVs, for example hostile MBTs with infantry cover) But the threat is still not enough for on foot approach. Or the company has lost too many IFVs so temporary transport.

Was it doctrinal? In Finland it was and still is doctrinal and done.

No there won't be. But this could be simulated with a combination weather, troop starting soft factors and electric warfare. I am sure we will see this in community scenarios.

There will probably be VDV, Bundeswehr, E-Germany and British -modules if the game takes of (and it will). Maybe also generic NATO & PACT expansions.

This might come with a future engine update/overhaul. I am sure it is coming, but I am not sure is it going to be 2 or 5 years until a facelift. I am sure a facelift could be done without whole new engine. Or well, I truly hope the code is done in a way to enable this...

If I was playing this match a would avoid the town and concentrate in taking all the key terrain and having my eyes and guns on the town. But of course if the objective happens to be the best place to kill the enemy from, then I would take it. Especially modern fights end because other side gets killed, not because you have taken the objective. Taking the objective is the side effect of killing the enemy.

I don't think he meant it in a negative way. I think he stated it as a feature. Peer-to-peer combat can also stated as "balanced" combat.
