    I invite you to download the final version of HQS
    HQS 2.2 is a huge modification for Combat Mission Black Sea / Shock Force / Afghanistan - adds or replaces almost all the sounds in the game. That's more than 2,400 sounds and more than 1GB of data, a lot of improvements and modifications really improve immersion in the game.

    The map has a rural theme, and is based around couple gravel roads, a farm, and some marshland.
     
    -Size: 2256x1392
    - A mostly flat map with lots of subtle variations in elevation and a couple of low hills
    -very few buildings, most of which are centered around a farmyard
    -Lots of open fields
    -several thick patches of trees which are not vehicle passable
    -Quite a few less thick patches of trees which vehicles can pass through
    -A large marsh/lake area in the Northeast of the map
    -Several smaller strips of marsh
    -No landmark names
     
     
    Please feel free to use this map as you wish. You can change anything you want for your scenarios.

    I have also put together several Quick Battle variations using this map. They are strictly PVP, since I have not yet ventured into setting up AI plans. Still, I hope they may provide some interesting battles.

    There are still a few vehicles to finish them all off. Meanwhile, I have started working on the interface, following master Juju's concepts, here you can see new "realistic" icons for the special equipment, all based on photographs of the real deal:
     
     


     
     
    The idea is to improve a bit the lifeless interface without causing too much commotion. Weapons silhouettes should come next.
    Changing the interface is a huge task, Juju's mad.

    I'd like a broader, more polished Ru equipment module because looking at high-polycount Russian vehicles in CMBS makes me warm inside. 
     
    1) T-72B with K-1 Era (good use for coastal defense units), also should be very interesting to see how T-72B vs T-64B fight plays out. 
    2) KMT-7 mine clearing system with EMT jamming device.This is not a one-off inclusion, as it can be used on all T-64/72 in BS or earlier CM titles. As a cherry,KMT-10 mine clearing system for BMP-1 and 2 could be nice.
    3) Proper APS 3D modeled for T-90A, T-90AM and T-72B3. The least intrusive way to deliver that without having to alter original turret model too much, is to include Arena in its latest form: example.
    4) Additional armor modeled for BMP-3M like here. This configuration does not impede Shtora or Arena being mounted on the turret. 
    5) Kamaz-53501 as a supply truck. Nowadays, these are the standard in the better supplied formations.

    Wonder if the M1 TTB (Turret Testbed) had much influence on the Russians... Cannot find much on this prototype.

    When I'm not being a nuisance on here or stacking mad loot from modding competitions, I'm making stuff.
     
    I have been working on reworking some of the Red Thunder Master Maps into very large QB maps for CMBS.
     
    v1.0 of this pack has three maps, an attack, assault, and meet on Radzymin Master Map 2. Each has an AI plan for both sides and functioning objectives, but would probably be better for versus play. I will do more plans for each map, and eventually convert all Radzymin Master Maps to CMBS.
    Credits to the Master Map goes to BF Company.
     
    I cant post screens because Im on my laptop and they look gash, but Ill try to at the weekend when I am back with my high spec machine.

    No, the Russian don't use it as standard issue. They found it too heavy and expensive. Instead they use the RPG-7V2.

    I hope this thread is not too old to revive, but I thought I would throw in some World in Conflict music. I love this game and the soundtrack for it, and I think any one of these songs could be great for the main menu. 
     
    WiC SA - Incursion:

     
    I really like this one because you can almost see the Russian tanks rolling across the line of departure towards their first objectives.
     
    WiC - Main Menu

     
    Already a main menu theme, its of a decent length and really gets you into the mood. Not over the top or anything, a bit foreboding of the chaos to come. 
     
    WiC - Fall of Liberty

     
    Has a military theme to it and helps to set the tone as well, more so in the fact that it is implying a serious fight ahead that is of great importance. 
     
    WiC SA - Marching North

     
    Sounds like after a lot of fighting, battered and exhausted units are marching towards... somewhere. 
     
    I like all of these, and there are more in the soundtracks that I really enjoy too, but I wont make this a huge post with all of them listed. Hope you guys like em and may even feel a bit of nostalgia for a great game

    The following pack has 3 quick battle ready maps, based on the one posted above, suited for meeting engagement only (deploy areas in the corners NE/SW).
    All versions have the same size and deploy areas but more objectives (small has 1 objective, medium has 3, large has 5). all objectives are of the occupy type (point values in brackets).
    It's up to you to decide what version to play with, just keep in mind that the size is the same. For example: if you want to play a small battle with few forces, the small versions with only 1 victory location in the middle would be best suited to avoid dispersion. At the same time, if you play a huge battle with large forces the large version gives you not only that big objective in the middle but 4 more minor objectives around the map, but you might still want to play with just 1 objective, it's up to you.
     
    Important: this quick battle map pack is intended ONLY for player versus player games.

    I have been working on a Donetz map for a while. It is a huge work being 2400 x 3800 meters. Since the amount of woods and houses might be too heavy for normal computers, the size might have to be reduced. I have not decided yet if it has to be done. Anyway it far from being finished being still a WIP map.
     
    The following pictures are shoiwing the airport runways, traffic contro tower and the terminal. All have been damaged. The final picture is showing tghe outskirts of Donetz not far away from the airport, right after the raitracks.
     
    I might release a smaller scenario dealing with the combat around and in the airport before the larger one I would like to do,

    Hey

    I have re skinned the 101st Airborne Uniforms, Also put Ranks on...
    I haven't done the Equipment yet.
    The Helmets and Uniforms are EZ but i have re skinned them and put camouflage on the helmet.

    There will be more types of Uniform colors with ranks for you to choose from Including the 82nd Airborne.
