    3. The problem with this battle was reported to the designer some months ago. The mod, and it's scenarios, is not a finished product but a work in progress. I know that @NPye has made some changes to it, but I've not seen much in the way of updates recently.

Also check for sub-system damage. Given the gun sticks out on top of the vehicle it's prone to being damaged if the halftrack takes some sustained fire. Something may have knocked it out when you weren't looking.

In Conclusion: The map is large and covers both the Benouville and Ranville bridges (Pegasus and Horsa), the town of Benouville including the suburb of Le Port, the Chateau de Benouville, and east of the Orne as far as Ranville and most of DZ/LZ N. Today I am working on "building" the town of Ranville. It is half complete. I have yet to start building le Haut de Ranville and le Bas de Ranville. The grounds are done but no buildings yet.
The plan is to created individual free-standing historical scenarios, an historical campaign, a series of hypothetical "what if the airlanding failed" scenarios, and the map alone for quick battle enthusiasts.
I have approached this map a bit different than my earlier historicals. In this instance I have deviated from exact fit of features and distorted the map more to straighten roads and reduce the amount of saw tooth effect. There is only a little distortion on the Benouville side but more around Ranville. Countour lines have been adjusted to flow with the distortion because I did not want roads that were in a valley to suddenly appear on a hill, for example. There is much that the Scenario Editor cannot reproduce.
I have relied on aerial photos taken before and after the Operation as well as the usual aerials taken from 1950 on. I noted that the allies added a pontoon bridge and created new roads across the terrain. These were ignored as was the Ranville soldier's cemetery created in the 1940s.

After declaring my retirement from making any more maps and scenarios for CMBN, I decided to put my feet up and start playing through a few scenarios and campaigns. I chose three that were thematically related and started to play. All three were supposedly historical or based on historical events. I found that I disliked all three due to the significant degree to which they deviated from fact both in mapping and OOBs. One was understandable because it was based on an ASL  scenario which was a derivative of the historical event. I decided to tinker with the small ASL version to bring it more in line with known historical facts but one thing led to another and now ... surprise ... I have another map in the works. Another of my huge 3248 m x 2128 m 'historicals'.  It would be more correct to say 'my interpretation' of the resources available to me constrained by the Scenario Editor's Lego-like construction set.
It is about 65% complete at this time. Another month of full-time work should finish it. I will give an occasional hint here at what is coming. If over the next little while you happend to guess what area I am mapping, I will  send you a screenie of the work in progress.
Hint #1: It is an overly huge map for what was initially an otherwise tiny event.
And PEB14 - you can't add your guess 'cuz you already know the answer. 😉

The command is 'Acquire'.  Occasionally I get so carried away doing this that I forget to get on with the battle 😂.  And if you have supply trucks coming in, you have a rotating acquire situation going on.

How do I download Mods?  I’ve found Falaise’s 22.5 degree roads mod on CMMOD warehouse, but I can’t find the data/z directory to install them.  Please advise.

    * ignore that request.  I looked up the old manual and found instructions.  Amazing what you can do if you try 😆

Happy to announce that the long version of MISSION BOSTON - OBJECTIVE LA FIERE - EXPANDED has completed final play testing and has been posted to the Scenario Depot III. Final play test went smoothly including down the various branches of the campaign.
The campaign is tough but is winnable. The campaign is extremely historical, meaning that two huge and long scenarios are about 'avoiding' action while the AI searches for you. In one or two other situations you are more likely to be defeated than win but do not be discouraged. Try to inflict as much damage on the German AI as possible as this will affect the core units file and German strength in following scenarios. Nearly all of the units involved in the campaign are part of the core units file. There is a lot of AI activity going on that you will not see. German units are on the move, frequently triggered by your actions.
If you get booted from the campaign you might still earn a measure of victory. The later you get booted (if you do) the higher the victory level. What is implied is that the Americans are going to win this campaign regardless of your performance. Getting booted means that you failed to accomplish your tasks within the timetable Ike demanded of you.

Yeh, I'm not very active on this group, sorry. But I have been playing CM since it first landed, and the prequel CM1 when that was first released too. I genuinely think this is the best game out there for the genre
But I'm still beaten regularly by Humans and the AI 😁

I seem to have created a misunderstanding. The problem of flavor objects moving that I was referring to is the result of creating a large master map, populating it with flavor objects and then cutting the master map to a smaller size to use for a scenario. Although the map size has been reduced, the smaller map still hold onto the complete flavor objects list in its code. As a result it does not know where to place the excess objects on the smaller map and the result it random replacement. For example, what was originally a row of telephone poles is now a row of poles, haystacks,  chicken coops etc. It is poor coding and very frustrating. Various suggestions have been made as to how to clean it up but none are 100% effective. The only solution I have found is to load the map, delete the unwanted misplaced objects, save, reload, repeat, repeat, repeat until the problem stops. At this point the excess objects have been deleted from the list. I HATE this issue and it is the number one reason why I will never create another CM master map.
For future map and scenario creators I suggest the following. Do not place flavor objects on a master map that you know you will reduce in size for scenario. Only place flavor objects on scenario maps.

Mission Boston - Objective La Fiere, eleven mission (or more, or less), branching, expanded campaign; construction completed, beginning testing.
Any volunteers to assists with final play testing? Warning - some scenarios are huge and very long. Two scenarios are not winnable due to being historical recreations but this will not impede the campaign going forward and will not result in losing the campaign.

Just as he was about to throw a frag grenade, the rifleman got hit. This were some bad news for his leader cowering next to him.

A halftrack formation gets blown to bits by one well positioned US 57mm AT gun.

Remember: Enemy artillery can be your worst enemy but can provide good cover too.
Without the previously created crater of the enemy artillery, this fire team would have been blown to bits.

"Herr Leutnant...wouldn´t it be wiser to spread the weapons of our fallen comrades around the squads ? They all just have those old bolt action rifles and...."
"God damn it, Feldwebel Heinrich ! When I say that you give the sniper rifle to the machine gunner, I mean it.
Don´t you dare question my leadership !"

    Advancing through the hedgerows...

    Which is pretty dangerous.

But there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Even if it meant that the light is actually a muzzle flash of a 88mm tank canon.

This Tiger got stuck in the wet ground...but unfortunately it was right at my avenue of approach...

When desperate enough even a ****ty outhouse can be a hiding spot from those damn tanks.
