Warts 'n' all got a reaction from BletchleyGeek in Fury Movie Discussion.
You're right Oldman did deserve an Oscar.... For "Sid and Nancy" and for "Prick up your Ears". But his Churchill in "Darkest Hour" doesn't really compete with Simon Russel Beale's in Aunty Beeb's three hour "Dunkirk".

In the words of a certain USatian tennis player who now works for Aunty Beeb, "You cannot be serious". A movie based on a flawed book, made by "Darling Dickie" who had established his directorial credentials with "Oh, What a Lovely War", and was then leaned on by Hollywood agents to give their clients more scenes. Doesn't equal "historical" in my book.

One thing you can try is shift the vehicle back or forward a little and see if that helps.

This tired fantasy truly is getting old; I'm glad you nipped it in the bud. We're hardly in a position as Canadians and Brits to wag the finger; our societies had (and still do, as one can gather from a particularly recent meltdown in another part of this forum) people who are all to willing to get behind ugly causes, including Nazism. Condemning an entire country off a handful of loonies would be silly and alarming; so why a family?

Shouldn't that read "Certain members of the Royal Family, and some aristocrats". And remember, I'm speaking as someone with previous when it comes to killing royals.

Warts 'n' all got a reaction from Rinaldi in What will the next CM be?
I think that BFC are planning a new game where Steve and the boys in the band get to kill anyone who asks what the next game will be. But, I might be just a tad mistaken.

Hence, the phrase "heavy fog" in the title. I'm 400 years old, and binoculars haven't been invented yet, but even I "spotted" that.

I think it would be best if we could keep this forum confined to CM and WW2 history in general. But, when certain Arrogant (sic) people start spouting about "refugees" then their rants cannot be left unopposed.
My granddad was an "economic migrant" or refugee as modern parlance would have it. He saw his mates being killed in 1940 on the road back to Dunkirk, then went through the Western Desert, and Normandy, and on to Hamburg. I won't use the words of Roy Keane on a forum that might attract younger readers, but I suggest that "Arrogant" (sic) follows his advice.

Yeah we have the same problem. We allowed thousands of Angles, Saxons, and Jutes into this country.

"Allowed" is a nice way to put it Just like you kindly allowed the Romans, Vikings, and eventually the Normans into your country. Jolly big tea party, that...

Yes the refugees stole all of the money from the Bundeswehr in the span of 4-5 years, this definitely isn't part of a chronic problem that's existed for far longer then that. It must be nice to be able to scapegoat one decision as the reason for all of a country's failings. It certainly has nothing to do with Germany's military history and all that that entails.
