  1. I'd recommend v.3 if you want to play CMBN. Just keep in mind the door entry bug that came with the Market-Garden module if you play any MG battles or campaigns. I still can't believe that it got ported over to Final Biltzkrieg. Ho hum.
  2. I eventually got so fed up with the gap charging that I gave up, and went off to play some Ted Thunder instead.
  3. How else, indeed. Excellent point from the General.
  4. Unfortunately, the problem with teams or sometimes individual men getting stuck in hedgerows whilst their mates follow their orders remains a problem. I've noticed that sometimes they will catch up of their own accord once their mates have halted. Although I am still finding sometimes I will have to send the whole squad back before they regroup.
  5. Mosser beat me to it. I've never understood the reasoning behind it. A minor annoyance, rather than a bug.
  6. @MarkEzra I've tried the map test a few times as both Allies and Axis. No gap charging to report so far.
  7. No we NOT "all playing catch up". The behaviour with the patch is different. With engine 4 as in with CMFB units that had taken fire were breaking either to the side, or at a diagonal backwards out of, and away from cover sometimes leading them into the line of fire of the enemy. What we are seeing with the patch is units charging towards the enemy before they have sustained any casualties.
  8. I can now verify that it happens with low hedgerows too. It's just cost me eight casualties. I never had trouble like this at Naseby. Although I seem to Ruprecht von Pfalz's troops were fatally attracted to Baggage Trains leaving me free to slaughter Charlie Stewart's Infantry.
  9. Oh, that is a problem that has cropped up with the new patch. Troops are running through gaps towards the enemy for no good reason. And it is happening to both defenders and attackers. I'm currently giving the Montebourg campaign another go. I've just scored a Tactical Victory in the mission called Turnbull's Stand. I lost 11 KIA and 7 WIA, and eight of those came from gap charging.
  10. I decided to give it a go as the Germans first up. I wanted to see if the recent hedgerow gap problem would rear it's ugly head. And sadly, it did. I heard a "Boom" and to my horror instead of a US Breach Team running through the gap, and getting mowed down by my men, my pixeltuppen beat them to it, racing through the breach to their deaths. It was a shame because up to that point it was playing out as a very interesting battle. And if we ever get a fix to our most recent problem I will certainly give it another go. I might also give it another play through but keep my Jerries away from the gaps when I get more time.
  11. A really good looking map. I'll be giving it a whirl pretty soon.
  12. "Hello, is that Mrs Axeman? Can you tell Bob I have a job for him."
  13. If I see it in the lower hedgerows, I'll be sure to let people know.
  14. I wouldn't know about that. I'm not a "Brit", I'm a Limey.
  15. "Morbid"? Bloody cheek. My humour is "Pythonesque".
  16. The troops aren't "Broken" in my case. The ones who are charging through the gaps are doing it irrespective of their morale state. And it seems to be happening only when they lose sight of enemy units.
  17. I managed a Tactical Victory at "Le Grand Hameau" with 11 casualties. But having to micro manage my troops when they charge through gaps in the hedgerow towards the enemy for no reason is getting tiresome. I'm not sure I'll carry on with the campaign for much longer. It is a great shame because my initial thoughts about the patch were very positive.
  18. He's not that new, I saw him in Brockwell Park in 1978.
