  1. I have to concur with M.E. I've always thought that the main problem with mounting and breaking through earthen banked hedgerows within the bocage country came from exposing the tank's belly before it reached tipping point.
  2. For me The War of Intervention a.k.a. The Russian Civil War would be a would waste of BFCs resources. Lets wait until CMx2 covers the time periods that CMx1 covered before we make anymore unrealistic demands on Steve and the other boys in the band.
  3. For mortars, "Target Light" is in effect a "use a slow rate of fire" command. IanL is perfectly correct it is a very good way to preserve ammo whilst sustaining fire to keep the enemy suppressed.
  4. Finally get my broadband up and running two days after moving home. Thanks to Erwin for his answer to Mossers question.
  5. I live in part of Kent stolen by the G.L.C. in the sixties and have been here since 2000. But in four hours time I'll be, in the words of Shorty and The Weird One "Homeward Bound". Ah hang on, four hours, I'd best get this computer packed up and ready to go.
  6. Ah, my display picture is a piece of self-mockery. I don't share Cromwell's skill as a general. Although he asked to be painted "warts and everything" it has gone down in history as the "Warts and all" portrait, a good reflection on my skill at CMx2, full of unsightly mistakes.
  7. Enjoy your viewing. I do sometimes tease him about toggling the trees and not playing on Iron. But that is just me being a glutton for punishment.
  8. Hear, hear. He has given us some great stuff over the years.
  9. Oh no, in the words of the song, "It's too darn hot" down there for a red headed pom. In fact my plan would have us fit giant hedge trimmers to our ships. they'd slice off the green bits of Oz and leave the rest. Then we could slot one slice into the North Sea, one slice between The Hebrides and Scotland, another between Wales and Ireland, and the final piece between England and The Channel Islands, and Bob Hawkes is yer uncle.
  10. Oh dear. This is turning into a Limey nostalgia thread.... @ John Kettler The key word in my previous comment was "sub". Most of our town centre post offices were like the ones that you describe. But sub post offices are located either on housing estates, or out in the country, and they always double as a local store. And in a few very rare cases are even located in the village pub.
  11. It would certainly be a shame to lose your channel altogether. And as for slow internet, perhaps the Royal Navy could tow your penal colony back up here where we have great super fast broadband. Sorry that should have read, hopefully broadband providers in your proud independent nation will soon be giving you a better service.
  12. Apart from the very first one, I used to buy my Airfix kits from the local sub post office. Also, my sweets, Bazooka Joe bubble gum, penny chews etc etc. on a Saturday morning, making sure that I was home in time for Grandstand.
  13. I bought my first Airfix kit ( A Ju-87 Stuka) on 15th Feb 1971 the day we went decimal. It cost 171/2 pence. Ah, we were all so much younger then.
  14. That sounds spot on to me. I certainly don't like to move them in any closer than 200m.
  15. Not only as God intended, I suspect it was probably what Guderian had in mind as well.
  16. And just in case anyone was following it I have just found out that "Owennerd" has resumed his "Road to Montebourg" series after a very long break.
  17. This must be from the 20th July 1944. "Don't worry, Kamerad. Some of us are on your side now".
  18. I think that the amount of rest that he had might have depended on how many Panzer chocolates he had consumed.
  19. A five step plan to "help out" BFC...... 1. Buy a game that you like and let Steve and the boys in band run their own company the way that they see fit. And don't rubbish Armchair General, Ithikial etc. 2. See No.1 3. See No.2 4. See No.3 5. See No.4
  20. I've never had an "overwrite" message in any of the CMx2 WW2 titles. I hope that you get things sorted soon, Grunts.
  21. I can't answer your question, but i am glad that you raised it as I would like to know the answer myself.
  22. I have never felt the need to use a Mod Manager for CMx2. The "Z" folder system works perfectly for me. And for mods that I only use for specific campaigns or battles I just created my own folders outside of the game folders e.g. CMBN Mod House, CMRT Mod House etc etc. Then when I need them I slip them over into my "Z" folder and Bob's your Uncle as the old saying goes. Although in our family, Uncle Bob emigrated to Australia and became a Mormon, but I digress.
